OMG! excellent, thank you Pah-ti.

Given some more thought to the whle moderator question... perhaps the big cheese has slected our moderators witht he whole "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" mentality...HE (capitalized to show respect) is really keeping a close eye on a select bunch of known table dancers and trampoline bouncers...it makes me feel better to think this is true...anybody see my hallucinogenic meds? My model glue? My whiteout? Something! Please! My cherry flavored highlighter !

hmmm...I think your theory fits, Scott did ask yours truly - that's right - a few months back, to be a moderator. :o

shocked the bejaysus out of me....I pondered it for about a day and did decline. told him that I needed to be free to be as silly as I want.

Did not tell him that I have hardly a SHRED of common sense.:wacko:

She was young and needed the money ;)

Patti....did those hallucinogens arrive ALREADY???

PATTI !!!!!!!!!

Are YOU taking Susie's drugs??? .......

Merry Mirth Makers

THEY (capitalized to show distrust and contempt) don't call them "drugs"...I have heard that THEY take a daily SOMA supplement...just a rumoUr as far as i know

OMG - I have nearly a full bottle of SOMA in my cupboard....from the heinous back debacle of July....hmmmm, forgot about those!! Will pull them out for painting assignments and carpet shampooing. ;)

Tom - sillability index. Once you're moved, you may find your mojo in San Jose. MOving is THE most heinous thing imaginable.

You TOTALLY editted that in. That was NOT there the first time I went by.

Looks like you've put a lot of thought into that list :lol:

Good Call! I'm sure you would be expected to actually read some of the serious posts!

So, how does our Grand Poobah notify one if there's an offer of Moderatorship on the table? (I would be under that one, too...) Does he call in the early evening?..I've been screening calls big-time lately, and one persistent individual whose ID is "unknown source" has been trying to get through. Can't have been Bob Goulet, as he is clearly not speaking right now. Perhaps...hmm, no, it can't be. There have just been too many posts of mine in the last couple of years that Scott would flag and say, "Uh, Patti...(or Bev, or Ursula)..make certain that I never consider that individual as moderator material".

HARRRUMMMPPPH.....

(You probably have to know lots of MATH to do that job, anyways! Icky-poo!)

Well....long before the daily addiction to the silly thread....I WAS quite a serious poster! and, ahem, you may find this hard to believe...but I still DO sometimes venture out of this realm of madness and write something of......just the slightest usefulness. ( <---- <_< questionable)

What? Who, Scott? really? are you kidding me? Scott and I.....well, I'm not sure if I should tell you guys this but he calls me daily...wants my thoughts on this or that....keeps asking me to write a book, "the Celiac.com Chronicles," has asked that I travel along with his family to many an exotic gluten-free locale (Finland, Italy)....I tell ya, sometimes I just don't answer, he really just wants too much of my valuable time....but we teleconference frequently with all kinds of Celiac experts, they work it around MY schedule.....

*snort*

off to the store. I think there is a bag of Nuggets in my future. :ph34r:that part is true.

Ah, this does not surprise me. I was expecting I might hear something like this. You see, just after I arranged that initial meeting all those years ago with Scott regarding my plan for a website for celiac patients and insisted he run with my idea, he told me he would go ahead on one condition: that I stay with him as the CEO, a second-in-command, if you will. The pleading...the grovelling...it is difficult to recount these things, to remember Scott as being so...needy and unsure. I was forced to tell him that I had another life I had to carry on with, and that he would have to find someone else to write the prototype for my book...you guessed it..."The Celiac.com Chronicle". I assured him that there would be another equally capable individual, somewhere. I also informed all of the gastrointestinal researchers that I could no longer head up the teleconferencing (I still do the odd flowchart for them). So, in a nutshell, Susie, you have to start screening your calls, like I do. I'm SO glad he's found you!

oh my gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd    So YOU were the one!!!! :o I knew it...I just KNEW it!!! You know I don't really mean to brag or anything but Scott (and all the medical experts) do say that my flow charts are WAY gooder than yours. Now now, don't be upset, it's just the facts, as they are. My flow charts are - well I don't know if I should give this away or not, but since it's trademarked, I suppose I can.....my flowcharts are Tollhouse-cookie-scented. And I do mean the REAL ones, w/ gluten, not the ersatz facsimiles.

Ah, Tom! We're so glad you're back... :)

Gah...All the tables Bev and I have been up on, the ones I've been under...I forgot about being under that #!!*#!*@ ganache mobile. Susie's washing Scott's hair,...well, 'tis a might better than washing Mr. Simmons'. Didn't you volunteer for that one, Bev? :o

Okay, well, Susie, you may have configured smelly flowcharts, but you must remember that I mastered visual mapping of athletic T-bagging. And I presented such while up on a table!

Witness Protection Program....jeez...what gave me away? Canada's been a very welcoming new start for me...

Acrylic. It was for sets in the play, but i still managed to get some in my hair... go figure...

Hehehe... cool. B)

^_^ <---- Thoughtful face?

 <---- Or maybe this is my thoughtful face!

I think I'm going to paint some sheets. Maybe next weekend.

I do believe I have had a bonafide case of brain fog today. The high point was when I was having an interior debate about... something... "Should I or shouldn't I, should I or shouldn't I...." ...and then realized I couldn't remember what I was trying to make a decision about.

Daughter has started gluten free diet this week as per gastroenterologists suggestion. However says she feels more tired and like she’s been hit by a train. I suggested it could be the change to gluten free or just stress from the endoscopy last week catching up with her. Just wondering if feeling more tired is a normal reaction at this stage. I suppose it’s possible some gluten might have been present without realising. Have tried to reassure her it’s not going to resolve symptoms overnight

Looking for help sourcing gluten-free products that do not contain potato or corn derived ingredients. I have other autoimmune conditions (Psoriatic Arthritis and Sjogrens) so I’m looking for prepared foods as I have fatigue and cannot devote a lot of time to baking my own treats.

I am so sorry you're going through this. It's completely understandable to feel frustrated, stressed, and disregarded after such a long and difficult health journey. It's exhausting to constantly advocate for yourself, especially when you're dealing with so many symptoms and positive diagnoses like SIBO, while still feeling unwell. The fact that you have been diligently following the diet without relief is a clear sign that something else is going on, and your doctors should be investigating other causes or complications, not dismissing your very real suffering.

It is just so sad that health care in the United States has come to this.  Health insurance should be available to everyone, not just the healthy or the rich.  My heart goes out to you.  I would not hesitate to have the test and pay for it myself.  My big concern would be how you could keep the results truly private.  I am sure that ultimately, you could not.  A.I. is getting more and more pervasive, and all data is available somewhere.  I don't know if you could give a fake name, or pay for your test with cash.  I certainly would not disclose any positive results on a private insurance application.  As I understand it, for an official diagnosis, an MD needs to review your labs and make the call.  If you end up in the ER, or some other situation, just request a gluten free diet, and say it is because you feel better when you don't eat gluten.      Hang in there, though.  Medicare is not that far away for you, and it will remove a lot of stress from your health care concerns.  You will even be able to "come out of the closet" about being Celiac!
    • plumbago
Yes, I've posted a few times about two companies: Request a Test and Ulta Labs. Also, pretty much we can all request any test we want (with the possible exception of the N protein Covid test and I'm sure a couple of others) with Lab Corp (or Pixel by Lab Corp) and Quest. I much prefer Lab Corp for their professionalism, ease of service and having it together administratively, at least in DC. And just so you know, Request a Test uses Lab Corp and Quest anyway, while Ulta Labs uses only Quest. Ulta Labs is cheaper than Request a Test, but I am tired of dealing with Quest, so I don't use them so much.
