Up until they added the new colors recently I had all but 3 of the eyeshadows, and NO I don't use them all, lol. I think I only use about 5 regularly that are my favorites.

I have quite a few of the eyeshadow colors too (although not near the amount as Donna  ) and I find I only end up using a few of the same colors, my go to colors :D

They've got 10 new foundation shades up. Darn, I thought I had my cart all set.

Thank you Juliem and MNBeth! I really appreciate it! Wildflowers and babybath sound great....maybe i'll order both! :) Is it hard to apply these as eyeliner? I've only used an eyeliner pencil - do you use a special brush? Thanks again!

I have 2 eyeliner brushes. One is a thin little tapered brush that came with my Bare Minerals eye makeup kit, and the other is a thin, angled brush that I bought at the grocery store. I find a get a thinner line when I use the first brush, so that's the one I use most, but the other one is fine, too.

I was going to comment when I saw that, but I thought I must have been confused. Is that really the name of the shade? LOL

Anyone know if they are running any discounts right now??? I know they have in the past........

I had an accidental discovery from ordering a wrong shade: I wanted to try the pressed powder to keep in my purse for touch-ups, wasn't sure which shade to order so I picked an olive shade trying to compliment my medium olive foundation. Thank God I tried it in my house before trying it in public because it made me look a nasty shade of death (and I see this shade working at a hospital...), so I brushed on my foundation over the powder-it darkened my skin up just enough to the perfect shade my skin is in the fall/winter time. I was just trying to figure out what new shade to order since my summer "glow" is disappearing--Now I have a solution! Plus, I can use the powder like a spackle for my giant nose pores :lol:

So, if you buy the wrong shade, try it with one of the others you have to see if you end up with something that works!

Thanks for the tip celiac mommy! I have the pressed powder in fairly light and it's a pretty good shade for me...maybe a tad bit light for summer but i think will be perfect for fall/winter. I keep it in my purse also but am going to try it as a spackle too for my giant nose pores! :D Thanks!

Donna is in LOVE with the two newest lavendar eyecolors: Laptop and Jasmine Tea. These are the closest match yet to the BE colors I was using.

I'm also liking some of the newest foundation colors in the Olive category. Haven't tried Martian yet but will soon, lol.

I'll have to try and remember these.....if I forget (which is likely) I'll bug you about it.

Hi everyone. I am nearly out of my Bare Escentuals and want to try this makeup but there are so many choices! I need help. I have very fair skin with reddish brown hair. I have a few freckles and I hate to say this, but the dreaded brown spots on my face. Skin is normal to dry. The last time I have my makeup done they told me I had yellow undertones. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have to confess. I have spent entirely TOO much money on makeup in the last week!! haha I put in my first order. I got the sample kit and a few other things. Had a great time playing with that when it came. Then of course I had to place AnOTHER order to get more "stuff". This is addicting, but I do like the makeup. I can't even feel it on my face!! That was the problem with what I wore before, it was just too heavy and made me HOT!!! This stuff is great. Love it!!

Yeah Jessica, it really IS addicting, lol!

Hi Jenny, welcome!!! You may want to try a foundation in the Golden, Olive or Beige category first, and try the lightest shade in those categories.

I'd definitely recommend getting the FREE sample kit first. You can order as many of those as you need to (just not at the same time) to find the right shade. The sample kit just costs a few dollars for postage, but that's better than ordering a full sized shade that may not be right for you.

You can get 3 foundation shades, a blush and a concealor in the free sample kit. You can either order one shade in three different formulations or three different shades in whatevery formulation you think might work.

I have normal to oily skin with dry patches, but I've found that I like the matte the best. The original glo looked way too "dewy", lol. The semi matte isn't bad for me, but tends to look a bit oily by the end of the day. Intensive probably has the most coverage. Matte can sometimes look a little dry when I first put it on, but that usually goes away fairly quickly for me. There can also be slight differences in shading between the different formulations.

celiac-mommy Collaborator

I totally second ordering the free kit if you've never ordered from them before. It's hard to pick just the right color from a tiny little color swatch that can differ from computer to computer. You can't beat paying 3$ish for shipping and having at least a month's worth of makeup (that's how long mine lasted). It worked out really well for me, I found my summer and my winter shade on the 1st try and got to play with some fun colors too (LOVE the bronzer!!!). I get really oily and have had a significant acne problem in the last year, so I use the intensive to cover my large pores and acne red scars. I also use the finishing dust to minimize the oil and it really works. I also haven't had as much acne since I've been using EM exclusively-and am also using a Salycylic acid wash 2x a day. (I also like the fact that if I fall asleep before taking off the makeup, I can take my dd to school the next morning and I look like I already did my face-it lasts a long time! ;) )

Thanks dlp52 and celiac-mommy for responding and the suggestions. I will definitely try the samples and get one in the intensive since I have a few brown spots to cover. Did y'all buy brushes from them too? I have some from BE, but I think the big brush is a little rough. I'm guessing this works like BE where you do a foundation, cover up and something to set it. New makeup - yea! I told my sister about this too. She couldn't use BE - said it irritated her rosacea.

I'm excited to order, but a little nervous I could end up looking like a clown.

I wish they would add a whole separate category on this forum combining makeup, cleansers, lotions - girly stuff! hint hint ;)

I got confused there for a second and thought I was on facebook. :P

So....I got my order. Hm....yes, Jasmine Tea. Lovely light purple shimmeriness. :D

Yes, I bought their brushes...they are much softer than the BE brushes (IMHO, lol). I've also purchased some Eco brushes...I'd heard about them on the EM website forum, but could never find them in my local stores, and then one day my Long's had them. They are very soft as well.

 Yes, well, more detail here though, lol. I LOVE me some light purple shimmeriness!! :)

Oh, and I tried the Light Martian foundation. Um, I'm on the fence about that one, lol. I could SWEAR I looked GREEN when I looked in the mirror at work. None of the other Olive family looks green, lol. It could be just my imagination (which is quite active), but I don't know. I went back to my newest purchase Buff-Linen, which is quite fair and definitely NOT green.

The EM brushes are soooooo much better than the BE brushes. I loooooove my EM brushes - so luxurious and amazing (seriously!). Pretty affordable too for how great they are. I'd recommend the flat top, long handled kabuki and eye kabuki.

I love them too, Donna!! I've been using Jasmine Tea on my browbone, it looks really nice with a lot of purpley colors. I really like the few newest colors they have out, too. I have to order soon!!!! In fact, I think that Laptop is my current fav.

I tried the start-to-finish powder, and that's making me break out, too. I'm not happy about no more silk dust. :(

Hi Charlie, You sound like you have been having a rough time of it. Coeliac disease can cause a multitude of skin, mouth and throat problems. Mouth ulcers and enamel defects are well known but other oral conditions are also more common in people with coeliac disease: burning tongue, inflamed and swollen tongue, difficulty swallowing, redness and crusting in the mouth corners, and dry mouth to name but some. The link below is for paediatric dentistry but it applies to adults too.  Have you had follow up for you coeliac disease to check that your anti-tTG2 antibodies levels have come down? Are you certain that you not being exposed to significant amounts of gluten? Are you taking a PPI for your Barrett's oesophagus? Signs of changes to the tongue can be caused by nutritional deficiencies, particularly iron, B12 and B9 (folate) deficiency. I would make sure to take a good quality multivitamin every day and make sure to take it with vitamin C containing food - orange juice, broccoli, cabbage etc.  Sebaceous hyperplasia is common in older men and I can't find a link to coeliac disease.   Russ.   Oral Manifestations in Pediatric Patients with Coeliac Disease – A Review Article

Hi @Charlie1946 You are very welcome.   I agree wholeheartedly with @knitty kitty:  "I wish doctors would check for nutritional deficiencies and gastrointestinal issues before prescribing antidepressants." I had a type of tingling/sometimes pain in my cheek about 2 years after my diagnosis.  I noticed it after standing in cold wind, affecting  me after the event - for example, the evening after standing outside, I would feel either tingling or stabbing pain in my cheek.   I found using a neck roll seemed to help, reducing caffeine, making sure I was well-hydrated, taking B12 and C vitamins and magnesium.  Then when the lockdowns came and I was using a facemask I realised that this pain was almost entirely eliminated by keeping the wind off my face.  I think looking back I was suffering from a type of nerve pain/damage.  At the time read that coeliacs can suffer from nerve damage caused by nutritional deficiencies and inflammation, and there was hope that as bodywide healing took place, following the adoption of a strict gluten free diet and addressing nutritional deficiencies, recovery was possible.   During this time, I used to spend a lot of time outdoors with my then young children, who would be playing in the park, and I'd be sheltering my face with an upturned coat collar, trying to stay our of the cold wind!  It was during this time a number of people with a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia came up to me and introduced themselves, which looking back was nothing short of miraculous as I live in a pretty sparsely populated rural community and it is quite a rare condition.   I met a number of non-coeliacs who had suffered with this issue  and all bar one found relief in taking medication like amitriptyline which are type of tricyclic anti-depressant.   They were not depressed, here their doctors had prescribed the drugs as pain killers to address nerve pain, hence I mention here.  Nerve pain caused by shingles is often treated with this type of medication in the UK too, so it is definitely worth bearing in mind if standard pain killers like aspirin aren't working.
