I like to use it. I get the unsweetened, unflavored so I can use it for mashed potatoes and the like. I also like it with cereal too.

I think I actually might have had my first little bit of withdrawl last night. Couldn't sleep for the life of me. Finally feel asleep at 2 am. Also woke up around 3am shaky and clammy. Stomach was a little burny yesterday and today.

Is almond milk a decent substitute for regualr milk?

Yes although personally I like the Wegmans Rice milk for most stuff.

My preference for a sub milk is hemp. There is great hemp ice cream too, also coconot.

How was the almond milk with your cereal?

Question for everyone. Had some D this morning and discomfort last night. I think it was due to my newly added fiber intake. Anyone ever run into this when starting the diet?

Extremely gassy from all the fiber yesterday also had some D due to that. Otherwise everything was ok

mushroom Proficient

Hmmmm.... doesn't look particularly high fiber to me  Only the quinoa.

scottyg354 Enthusiast

Haha. No I'm reporting from the day before. I figured it at roughly 32 grams of fiber. The effects carried over to the next day. 32 grams is a little much I would think for someone who probably ate about less than 10 grams daily for his whole life.

Are you drinking the protein zone smoothies? They contain both soy and dairy and may not be tolerated by you right now.

Can you make your own smoothies for now? If you can that might be a good thing to do.

I've only been doing the ones that are vegan, gluten, soy and dairy free. Ex. Blue Machin, Might Mango, Mango Orange. I was in love with the Green Machine but it contains wheat and barley grass so that ends that. lol.

I do juice my own juices as well. too. Love my bullet express!

Good your skipping the ones with soy and dairy. I've got one of the bullet things too and we liked it so much I had to give mine to my son when he moved and get another one.

Out of curiousity you would know who makes Gluten Free Lip Balms. I've been using the ones with wheat germ not realizing it and they have been drying my lips out (i think).

I've been using Blistex Medicated Lip Balm (in the blue-green tube) and also Neosporin Lip Health

Killer about this whole deal is i've been using the same lipbalm for years, and it works well, but recently it stopped working and wound up making my lips dry and cracking. This ever happen to anyone?

You're welcome! It seems like I always have chapped lips in the winter (and it's winter where I live...a little reprieve today when it's supposed to be balmy with temps around 60

I agree though, for Febuary I'm not complaining about 55 degrees today and tommorow.

Haha, I am familiar with that roadwork season in the Sierra too, but somehow it never shows on the calendars - they seem to call it some funny name like summer

One of my website clients sells one Open Original Shared Link She's in Australia but the manufacturer is in the U.S. I bet you can buy it in the U.S. or online through the manufacturer.

Don't judge my web designer skills based on that website! LOL We're reworking it. I hope that lip balm helps (I never use lip balm, I live in Texas!). I know it's vegan and gluten free. Diet is going fine. :) I'm not starving anyway! LOL I realized I don't have enough gluten free food in this house so I've been doing some ordering online. I must eat more than apples, bananas and tuna :P

I noticed eating gluten-free or CGF foods have higher sugar and sodium some. No added sugar protein bars I found better with plant fiber. I wanted to know what are you go to besides whole fruits/veggies that you find are healthy for you where you can feel eating normal without hurting yourself or health. I was looking into subscription based like Thrift to see if there is something that is healthier CGF that can make me feel normal. Thanks

Thankyou because I met up with K B with well known bay area hospital once and she said she knows I don't like to take meds, I said thats incorrect, I have issues.Thats the one that said I was deemed " unruly " when she admitted I was celiac when I asked why am I going through this.

Cristiana, that sounds like a great approach and I will be looking forward to the results. I am in the same boat as you. I don't experience overt symptoms with minor, cross contamination level exposures so I sometimes will indulge in those "processed on equipment that also processes wheat . . ." or items that don't specifically claim to be gluten free but do not list gluten containing grains in their ingredient list. But I always wonder if I am still experiencing sub acute inflammatory reactions. I haven't had any celiac antibody blood work done since my diagnosis almost 25 years ago so I don't really have any data to go by.

I've been reflecting on this further. The lowest TTG I've ever managed was 4.5 (normal lab reading under 10).  Since then it has gone up to 10.   I am not happy with that.  I can only explain this by the fact that I am eating out more these days and that's where I'm being 'glutened', but such small amounts that I only occasionally react. I know some of it is also to do with eating products labelled 'may contain gluten' by mistake - which in the UK means it probably does! It stands to reason that as I am a coeliac any trace of gluten will cause a response in the gut.  My villi are healed and look healthy, but those lymphocytes are present because of the occasional trace amounts of gluten sneaking into my diet.   I am going to try not to eat out now until my next blood test in the autumn and read labels properly to avoid the may contain gluten products, and will then report back to see if it has helped!
