Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The...

New Developments in Celiac Disease Treatment
Scott Adams commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Diagnosis, Testing & Treatment
The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and magnesium. Unfortunately many doctors, including my own doctor at the time, don't do extensive follow up testing for a broad range of nutrient deficiencies, nor recommend...- 3 comments

Here is more info about how to do a gluten challenge for a celiac disease blood panel, or for an endoscopy: and this recent study recommends 4-6 slices of wheat bread per day: Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms g...

So far, after a few decades of running this site, I've not seen any evidence that those with celiac disease need to fear plastic wrap as a source of gluten contamination.

Preparation for blood testing
Scott Adams replied to Emanon's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If you were not eating gluten before the endoscopy for celiac disease, then your results could be a false negative--so you may have celiac disease, especially if you have the genetic markers, and symptoms when you eat gluten (although many people don't have obvious symptoms). If your symptoms get milder when you go gluten-free it can be another indication... -
Blood test results!
Scott Adams replied to Sjmc's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. Be sure that you keep eating gluten daily until all tests for celiac disease are completed, because going gluten-free before these tests can create false negative results. -

A good, reasonably priced, and readily available substitute for your macaroni noodles would be Barilla GF pasta: https://www.barilla.com/en-us/products/pasta/gluten-free/gluten-free-elbows For the bread, the very best deal I've found is at Costco where you can get 2 loaves of Franz GF Bread for around $5 per loaf. -

Is Costco Ham Gluten-Free?

Usually you can select the image and do a control-C to copy it, then put your cursor in the box and do a control-v to paste it. It sounds like they are giving you a blanket cover your butt statement, and the ham could be naturally gluten-free, but I can't say for sure, obviously. I hate it when this happens!- 12 comments

We'll try to find out more info, perhaps a change was made. If possible, please take a photo next time you are there of the ingredients. Did you notice any gluten-containing ingredients in the ham?- 12 comments
