  1. Celiac.com 08/15/2022 - In a significant finding, a celiac disease registry at University of Alabama reveals significant issues in accurately testing Black people for celiac disease using the TTG antibody test. The new registry of celiac...
  2. For some people it can be normal, but for others, and perhaps more so in those who are obese when diagnosed, they may lose weight after going gluten-free because they begin absorbing nutrients better and may quit overeating due to the feeling that they are starving. Again, I think this can vary a lot from person to person, and it wasn't until the last 15...
  3. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Food, Standards and Product Safety division is urging Connecticut residents to check their refrigerators for EZ Noble Sushi, which was available for purchase this week at Geissler’s Supermarkets in Connecticut and Massachusetts. East Windsor-based EZ Noble Sushi is voluntarily recalling several products t...
  4. I know that this company, who has been an sponsor of our site in the past, makes an entire line of gluten-free cosmetics: https://www.epilynx.com/
  5. I actually was too thin and gained weight after my diagnosis, so I think this can vary from person to person.
  6. I believe 23 and Me will test for all know makers for celiac disease, but am not 100% sure about that. You may need to contact them to verify this.
  7. Dr. Ben Carson is not an immunologist, infectious disease doctor, or vaccine expert, but this is not the place to debate vaccines. There is little doubt that America, out of all the wealthy 1st world countries, has suffered more death from covid than any other comparable country, primarily due misinformation around masks and vaccines, and I will not allow...
  8. Yes, you will need to boost your vitamin/mineral supplementation from here forward to help your recovery. Hopefully the doctors went over this, and this article lists common deficeincies:
  9. I could be mistaken, but I believe this was a popular forum back in the 2000's, but is no longer around.
  10. I see nothing wrong with this approach, because you would be dealing with the "what ifs" of possible gluten contamination, even when a product is certified gluten-free, as was mentioned earlier in this thread. Of course taking these enzymes should never be done in order to purposefully cheat on your diet, but they may mitigate small amounts of contamination...
  11. Dos Equis ranch water is not gluten-free, as it contains malt liquor, but there are different version of ranch water that are tequila based which are gluten-free, and we'll be doing an article shortly on them.
  12. Your approach to stop eating outside your home is a wise one, especially if you are super sensitive. I don't want to encourage you to change your approach, but just want to mention that GliadinX, which is an AN-PEP enzyme (that is a sponsor here) has been shown in multiple studies to break down trace amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the...
  13. If you are allergic to chicken eggs consider trying duck eggs. They can be found in most Asian supermarkets (be sure they are fresh, and do not have a red marker mark on them--those include a developed embryo), or sometimes at farmer's markets.
  14. Bob's Red Mill makes a gluten-free corn meal: https://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Red-Mill-Gluten-Cornmeal/dp/B081DQ1NXP/
  15. Keep in mind that there is a condition that is more common called non-celiac gluten sensitivity, which around 10x more people have than celiac disease, and unfortunately there isn't a screening test for it yet. You may still want to try a gluten-free diet for a while to see if it helps.
  16. This article has a detailed description of the blood test procedure:
  17. If you do ever go back, many try to go when it's not busy, and order the lettuce wrapped version with the gluten-free bun on the side. To me wheat buns have a distinct smell to them, while gluten-free buns smell differently, but again, I would avoid any place that made such an error.
  18. Welcome, and I was also wondering how often you are going the gym and how long do you work out? Generally speaking you'll need to increase your calorie intake, especially protein, if you work out often.
  19. I don't know much about your situation, but is it possible you could go the implant route? I've heard that Medicare may cover the now, but am not sure.
  20. Welcome to the forum! Many people with celiac disease fall into the asymptomatic category, and for those in this group it seems they are the most likely to question their diagnosis. Unfortunately, even thought you may not have obvious symptoms, the health risks remain the same should you have celiac disease and continue eating gluten. Feel free...
  21. It is possible, and we have many research articles in this category on gluten ataxia and celiac disease: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/ataxia-nerve-disease-neuropathy-brain-damage-and-celiac-disease/
  22. I am not sure if lecithin contains soy oil, but it is usually made from soy. I brought this up because of this article: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200117080827.htm
  23. Benfotiamine seemed to help my blood sugar issues, which may have helped eliminate the night sweats. Take with a B-complex.
