  1. I mostly agree with your doctor, but do think there may be things you can do. This article may be helpful:
  2. The edit feature is only available for a short time period after a post, and this is due to the many spammers who might post something, then change it after by adding link spam.
  3. Welcome @albagaraisa I recommend you start a new thread...this one is from 2008, so it's unlikely that anyone still follows it.
  4. This is an older article, but still accurate for the tests it discusses:
  5. Just look for the blue "Follow" box above the topic, or it may already be red and say "Following" as is the case with me in this topic:
  6. Knorr could contain gluten, see this:
  7. Very strange, I've asked the other moderators if they are getting notifications and they said they were.
  8. There are gluten-free versions of bouillon cubes out there, but many contain MSG. We often make our own ramen using gluten-free buckwheat and millet noodles we buy at Costco:
  9. I agree with @RMJ and keeping your food in containers, including when heating it, should keep you safe. The crumbs should not be able to affect you unless you get them in your food, or touch them and then put your fingers in your mouth without washing them.
  10. Maybe you could try stealing this Rice Chex recipe?
  11. It would be great if you could share her test results with us. It's possible she had: 1) Elevated antibodies, perhaps just below the celiac disease marker level; 2) Non-definitive biopsy results--these results can vary greatly depending on the gastro who takes the samples; 3) Symptoms that went away after going gluten-free, which is another way of confirming...
  12. A scientist spent tons of time on this bread project, for anyone making bread on their own:
  13. It sounds like you may be in the non-celiac gluten sensitivity group, and unfortunately there is no test for it. If you have symptoms when you eat gluten which go away when you eliminate it, then you have all the confirmation you need.
  14. Have you tried lidocaine creams? Many over the counter ones are in the 5% range and have been helpful to others with DH. As I understand it, Dapsone can have some serious long-term side-effects, and ultimately rooting out all gluten in your diet my be the best approach.
  15. Welcome, you may want to get your blood levels checked, as 10,000 international units daily of vitamin D seems high to me. I also take daily vitamin D, but closer to 4,000 units a day. This new study indicates that low vitamin D status is associated with increased mortality: https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M21-3324
  16. Celiac.com 11/07/2022 - A team of researchers recently set out to investigate why certain at-risk individuals develop celiac disease. They especially wanted to look at the risk levels early on that might influence levels of celiac disease...
  17. Welcome to the forum! The recommendations from the Mayo Clinic are to eat at least 2 slices of wheat bread worth of gluten daily for at least 6 weeks before your blood test for celiac disease. It's likely you will still have higher antibodies after being gluten-free for 2 weeks, however they will be lower than if you had continued eating gluten...
  18. Product Genoa Salami Issue Food - Allergen - Gluten Food - Allergen - Milk Food - Allergen - Wheat What to do Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive. Do not consume the recalled product if you have celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders. Affected products Cappola...
  19. If you have a Costco near you look for Franz Gluten Free bread. Here in California they sell 2 loaves for ~$9, and it is a good multi-grain gluten-free bread.
  20. There may be ways to speed up gut healing, for example taking supplements like the amino acid glutamine and/or collagen. Just make sure they say "gluten-free" on their labels.
  21. I've not had any issues with any of the supplements I've been taking. I realize that some people are concerned about such "made in a facility" allergen statements, but in general if "gluten-free" is on the label it means they test and monitor to avoid any contamination.
  22. Were you diagnosed with celiac disease, and if so, how long have you been gluten-free? I ask because greasy floating stools are a common issue with the malabsorption that is cased by the flattened villi. It can take a year or two for your gut to fully heal.
  23. Do you eat meat, fish, or eggs? These would be high in protein. If you don't nuts and tofu might be good options. Also, some people who have issues with cow's milk may be able to tolerate sheep's or goat's milk and their related products.
  24. Many celiacs have additional food intolerance issues that may eventually go away after their guts heal, for example I had around 5-6 foods I had to avoid for a couple of years, including casein/cow's milk, corn, chicken eggs, tomatoes, etc. I think @knitty kitty is right, you should be keeping a food diary to see if there is a link with certain foods.
