  1. I was bedridden on and off before diagnosis. After, I did a mini triathlon.
  2. I suggest you keep a diary of what you eat and how you feel. Some days eat a whole bunch of one thing and see what happens. Remember that it can take a few days to be aware of a reaction. For instance, eat mainly chicken for a couple of days, then go back to your normal diet and see if you notice a difference. No, looks like you don't react to chicken...
  3. You may not be gluten free enough. Some of us, super sensitive celiacs, seem to react to the small amounts allowed in gluten free foods. I am very symptomatic and react unless I eat only naturally gluten free foods which I sort, wash, make sure don't have coatings etc. You might want to start with avoiding things produced in facilities which also process...
  4. I think that I react to very low levels of gluten. I think that I would be diagnosed with refractory celiac if I didn't eat super carefully. I don't eat processed foods. I don't eat gluten free foods. I eat naturally gluten free foods only. I don't eat coated produce. I even squeeze my own juice. I wash things like crazy. If I don't do this I get...

    ARCHIVED #*@($ !#*^% Doctor!

Your ongoing symptoms sound like what I experienced until I went on a whole foods diet. The usual gluten free diet doesn't seem to work for all celiacs/gluten intolerants. You might be a super sensitive celiac. You might want to try a whole foods diet (meats and produce, sorted whole grains, all washed) for a couple of weeks. Then you might not feel like...
  6. I had to go on a whole foods diet to be healthy enough to exercise. I'm a super sensitive celiac.
  7. You could be a super sensitive celiac, sensitive to the low levels of gluten allowed in gluten free foods. I get sick from them too.
  8. I did an online search and those tests aren't terribly accurate, but don't take my word for it, do your own. Elimination diets are supposed to work better to determine food sensitivities. My son tested negative for everything, yet when he eats walnuts his tongue swells up. His doctor even told us that the tests weren't accurate.
  9. I had picky eaters, though not autistic, perhaps borderline Ausbergers. I found that it helps to give them choices. I'd say they need to have a vegetable but they can pick what. I have some choices in the fridge. Then same with fruit, and grain. They liked their food tastes all separate. They ate with divided plates. I also had cut up veggies and dip...
  10. I've been off gluten three years now, but your post reminded me. It was an issue for both my son and I. We were diagnosed at the same time. We don't notice it now, even when we get glutened, so I'd forgotten all about it. Hopefully it will go away for you too.
  11. I've had problems with supplements. I think that a lot have very low level cc. I'm sensitive to such low levels that for me they do more harm than good.
  12. I react to Blue Diamond Almonds. Some of us react to lower levels of gluten cc than others. You might want to avoid gluten-free foods made on shared lines. You might want to look into Super Sensitive celiacs. There is a section here for us.
  13. Or, it could be that you are reacting to low levels of gluten cc in these foods. You can test that by buying them whole grain, washing carefully and see if you still react. If you react less after washing, then it might be cc rather than cross reactivity. That is what I found to be the case for me. I can still eat corn on the cob from a few select farmers...
  14. My son is so sensitive that he can't even be in the room with flour. He did home study for the cooking portion of his "Home and Careers" class. I provided a doctors note and had a few meetings with teacher and counselor. My son doesn't have a 504 plan.
  15. I do get the hypersensitive senses. It took me quite awhile to notice that it came from gluten.
  16. I agree with the previous poster. It would be a good idea to eat only produce and meat for awhile and see if that helps. Not eating "gluten-free" items made in shared facilities might not be enough. They might mot be getting clean enough starting materials. There is a lot of potential for cc at the farming, harvesting, and shipping levels. You may...
  17. That writer seems to have a good understanding of super sensitivity in celiac disease/gluten intolerance.
  18. I think that is your most likely possibility.
  19. This is in the super sensitive section. This could be corrected to "no chance of gluten over 10 ppm" - I looked it up and they are certified by GFCO which uses a 10 ppm cut off.
  20. I have problems with regular chicken and turkey too. I think that it comes from cc during processing. I am a super sensitive celiac, sensitive to very low levels of cc. I do fine with pasture raised chicken processed in an independent facility. I also do fine with beef and pork packaged at the meat distributor.
  21. Of course it is possible. I can't eat much of anything processed without feeling glutened. I am sensitive to very low cc levels.
  22. I have had problems with olive oil. I don't know if it is from adulteration or not. Here is a source Open Original Shared Link I did find an olive oil I could tolerate after several attempts. I am very sensitive, hopefully you will find one more easily.
  23. We had to go to a gluten free household because just having the stuff in the house was enough to get me. I never touched it that I was aware of and it still got me. It would certainly be possible to get glutened by cleaning it up. It all depends on how sensitive you are.
  24. I have problems with some processed foods. I only add one new one per week so that I can tell if something bothers me. If something does, I don't eat it again. Sometimes I avoid the whole brand. I usually can't tell until the next day if something bothers me. You are lucky to be able to know so quickly. It is possible that there was some cc during processing...
  25. One thing that you could consider is that you may be a super sensitive celiac. There is a section in this forum for super sensitive celiacs and other info available. You may be reacting to minor amounts of cc in your foods. Are you eating farmed fish? That can be a problem for a super sensitive. They can be fed gluten containing foods. I have gotten...
