  1. I have only eaten at Burton's once and it was before I was gluten-free. But when I did eat there, it was good. I read that either the owner or the manager or someone high in power at Burton's has Celiac, so that's why they have all that gluten-free stuff. I'm pretty sure that Burton's is kind of expensive but worth it IMO if you can afford it.
  2. Don't forget sunlight! It has been show to help prevent tons of diseases including depression. And I know it makes me feel more relaxed, so it should help with anxiety too. Exercise is also big.

  4. Congratulations! It must feel good to finally get an "official" diagnosis. I'm just curious, what genes came up positive through EnteroLab? Because I had all tests come up negative (including the genetic tests the doctor ordered). And would also like an official diagnosis just for s$#&s and giggles. Thanks
  5. I have read that D2 and D3 are equally effective. But the most reliable source of vitamin D is the sun. It does not need to be absorbed. Stand in the sun for 10-15 minutes WITHOUT sunscreen and your body will make all the vitamin D you need for that day.

  7. This is exactly what I was going to say. It's better to cut the pill in half. It puts less stress on your kidneys and liver. Our bodies weren't meant to handle mega doses of vitamins anyway. Also, you might want to consider taking organic food based vitamins instead of synthetic ones if you already aren't. I find they tend to be more easily absorbed...

  9. I would check out New Chapter's line of vitamins. They're food based and cultured, so they're more easily absorbed. Also, you really only need about one-third of the recommended daily intake of calcium. The reason that it's so high is because you don't absorb the majority of it. But since these are cultured, and not rock based, you absorb more of it.

  11. I have read articles that claim that digestive enzymes do help with other food allergies and intolerance's. Just do a google search and I'm sure you'll be able to find some. As for Celiac, they may speed up the recovery process but you still need to AVOID GLUTEN at all costs.

  13. Definitely drink a lot of water. I also load up on probiotics, enzymes, and glutamine. And probably the most important thing I do is to make sure and eat some amount of insoluble fiber. This will force the undigested gluten out of your body a lot faster. Plenty of rest is also good too.

  15. Unfortunately, I have concluded that they probably do contain gluten. If you look at some of their other products online they say: "Does not contain wheat, gluten..." whereas with this product is just says: "Does not contain wheat, dairy..." But since you already bought them and assuming you already opened them, I would either call or email the company...

  18. I would not be worried. I am also experiencing the exact same thing. Even when I take digestive enzymes, fat still seems to show up in my stool (sry if tmi). I can't do any oils either and if I eat any fat on an empty stomach without any fiber I tend to get bloated. It is not uncommon for recovering celiacs and celiacs for that matter to have issues...
  19. Ginger tea is helpful if she is nauseous. Peppermint tea can relieve the bloating and relax the intestines. But be careful if the tea is too strong, it can aggravate the stomach too. Whenever I get glutened I load up on probiotics too. And make sure she is replacing her fluids/electrolytes. Good luck.
  20. Vitamin B deficiencies can also cause anxiety. Exercising should also help a lot too.
  21. This might sound like a stupid question, but do you just constantly have the urge to urinate or is your bladder just physically full (or both)?

  25. Perhaps it was somewhat psychological? Once you knew you ate something you should not have, you realized you made a big mistake. And that mentality aided in the regurgitation of food? It also could have been the combination of dairy and wheat. I found that the older I got the more lactose intolerant I became. I found it harder to keep down all in general...
