  1. I answered parents & kids. My parents have stomach "issues" but don't want to be tested. My brother has Reynaulds and who knows what else he won't tell us. My kids have blood tested negative and don't have a lot of issues but one has a " delicate" stomach and the other has noticed that eating gluten lighter helps his skin and his bathroom ( which isn...
  2. ???? Spell- check having its way with you? Might want to hit " edit"
  3. If they bring you the burger with the bun or meat with a piece of bread on top. Send it back but....how do you know you got a fresh burger? Make a mark in it before you give it back. You could do it in front of the waitress or be sneaky, whichever you think would work better. That way you will know if they try to give you the same thing again.
  4. It had wheat in it? Malt? Do you remember the brand so people can be warned? I know it wasn't Fage. They have the split cups but they even say gluten-free on the website.
  5. Are you in the US? Sometimes here there is gluten in an ice cream, but usually not except cookie flavors. but I haven't found any yogurts with it ( except maybe those ones with the little topping packs). What yogurt was it?
  6. I think a big problems comes with cc. You ask for a plain burger, no bun. Great! They get that. They cook your burger on the grill on top of where they just toasted the buns for other peoples burgers. You get the green beans. They use the slotted thingy they use to get pasta out to scoop up your green beans because it handy. If its a small local...
  7. 1.Dragons, wizards and magic wands are terms that exist. Doesn't make them real. Can't really disprove #2. Sure people get gas & bloating ( or gluten type reactions) from other foods. Sure there should be more research. Sure you " believe" there is research in other countries. Sure people should be aware of research in other countries. None...
  8. I like Mission. I don't like lots of extra odd stuff.
  9. Sounds good to me. You may not need gluten free - just junky food free to feel better. Of course your plans include studying hard, maybe a part time job, applying to colleges and not be distracted by boys.
  10. I had the baguette! We loved it! Now I can't find it here. Have though I could use the rolls instead. Schar is opening a factory in New York or New Jersey (somewhere around there). Should be more stuff showing up. I love the Tagliattele (sp?) noodles for chicken noodle. Very thin & slurpy.
  11. OK.....does your sister live 45 minutes closer to me or farther? I might need an extra hour to get there? Bring some of that homemade strawberry soda from the soda pop thread! And bring enough for my son M. He will love it!
  12. This will not be the popular post. I believe in the "crime" fitting the punishment. Make sure he really knows what he is doing. If he does, he probably should be bringing his food from home to be safe. Cut off that lunch account. You will need to talk to the school about this. I would tell him that if he continues to make bad choices, I will eat...
  13. Why do so many people have a chance to comment on your Celiac? Except for on here, I don't go around talking about it to everyone I meet. Even with people who know about it, we don't talk about it. If these are your friends, then maybe its time to get new ones that are a little smarter? If they are your co-workers, maybe you can distance yourself a...
  14. Just a word from the mom prospective. This is what I would say to one of my boys who started getting serious with a girl with an illness. I would want to be certain they knew all there was to know about the illness and the future path of the illness - in general & realistically. I would want to be certain they knew what stage the girl was in. ...
  15. Sorry you are feeing so bad. But I think a few things are missing here. What does the GI say about the high levels? Why did he do surgery? Has he done a repeat endoscopy to check the damage? The reason for the surgery may be why you feel bad not the Celiac?
  16. We make them on a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet in the oven. I sort of " spike" them out a little on the edges. We call them snowflakes. Get a really good Parm. They are great with red wine! I just use the big side of my grater like you would grate cheddar for tacos. Some people make these with cheddar in the pan. It's like the...
  17. I used to have a boss, when she was sick with a stomach virus, she would call you while she was in the bathroom. I think you should Twitter, too! Let me know, I'll " follow" you.
  18. Gluten-Free! I forgot! I'm about 2 hours (?) away from you! I'll eat that dinner, olive oil & rice milk, and all!
  19. If she has a wheat allergy, she probably wasn't eating much gluten before the blood tests. I know you weren't feeding her wheat if she is allergic to it. If she wasn't eating a "full gluten diet", she likely wouldn't have enough antibodies to test positive. I would just get rid of any little bit of Barley that might be slipping in as malt & then...
  20. The person you are responding to has't been on the forum for about a year. I think we have had more recent discussions on this topic.
  21. Just to let you know- you are replying to a 5 year old thread. Likely that the original posters aren't on here anymore.
  22. I agree with Jess. I would love it if my sister would have everyone to her house for a holiday! I would happiliy bring my own food and a dish to share. Right now, everyone comes to my house & I have to make everything & make sure the house is sorta of clean. Lucky for me my teenage boys & hub can cook.
  23. You & the kitties can get in the chickies coop and float out to sea on an adventure. Are the schools & jobs closed still?
  24. I have always enjoyed it!
  25. Just trying to make your life easier!
