  1. Not to mention that when the toast pops up, that it doesn't throw glutenous crumbs onto his side. You could also invest in some of those toaster bags, if you really don't want 2 toasters.
  2. Vitamin K is one of the vitamins I was deficent in when I got diagnosed.
  3. I used to get every bug, food poisoning, cold, you name it that came within a mile of me. I used to be sick more often than I was well. I was diagnosed at 13 y/o. I continued to be sick like that until I went to accupuncture about a year and half ago. Hopefully she won't have those issues. Make sure you give her a good daily vitamin and have her vitamin...
  4. I don't know where in WA you are, but there is a couple of different stores that carry exstensive lines of gluten-free food. Manna Mills is located in Mountlake Terrace and Lingonberries is located in Vancouver Wa. If you ever want to get doughnuts or rolls, those are the places to hit. Also this Sat in Seattle is the gluten free food and beer festival...
  5. I would love to meet up with you guys.
  6. I haven't been there, but have heard there is a ton of them. Good place to check out reviews is the celiac chicks website. Open Original Shared Link Have fun!
  7. I'm not very social either LOL. I am way too shy, but I thought maybe i could kick myself in the rear and try at least. I too am a cave dweller. I may drag my mom with me.
  8. Yup, no problem. One of the "genius's" from the apple store told me about it.
  9. Hhmm, 6 bucks for a bag of flour huh? It better be some darn good flour.... I was considering it as a way to try some new goodies and have a no worry social event. Maybe even feel somewhat normal and not have to ask what is in everything.
  10. I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about going to this? It is this Sat on St. Patty's day. It is at pier 66 in Seattle. I seems kinda spendy, but could be fun..... Open Original Shared Link
  11. Hey Rachel, you can have your battery replaced. I just had mine replaced along with the logic board. I got mine done by Ipod resque. For the do it yourself kit it is about $25 to replace the battery. It will be a better battery also. Here is the website. Open Original Shared Link BTW they also make a monster type device that also has a charger built...
  12. My mom has and she swears by it. We live in WA so the light is limited here in the fall/winter months.
  13. Well I honestly can say, that I am one of the most sensitive people out there. I have the numerous trips to the E.R. to prove it. I have never had a problem from alcohol, other than when I drank too much, LOL. Hangover, and yes the stomach does get upset with it, that is a normal reaction. It is not a gluten induced stomach upset either. If it isn't possible...
  14. I also found this on the board. https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-49107222692.3c Please note that ingredients in the products on this page are subject to change without notice. The products on this page were safe when last checked. It is up to you to verify that the product remains gluten-free by checking the ingredients yourself, or by...
  15. O.k. guys don't shoot the messenger. I cannot find the research at this moment. I think I read it in a book, can't remember off the top of my head but here is an example to back up what I said. Here is from celiac.com's own page. https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-23106011054.bc Celiac.com 12/10/2000 - As reported in Ann Whelan's September...
  16. Had 2 done 20 years ago, when they were trying to figure out what was wrong with me. It showed absolutely nothing wrong. So I had to drink the nastiest chalky stuff ever for nothing. I was later diagnosed with celiac.
  17. There was testing done awhile back, that if the alcohol is distilled and fermented that gluten cannot get through. The molecules are too big or something to that affect. So based on that all hard alcohols that are distilled and fermented are safe. That is why it is safe to drink Jack Daniels, it is made out of wheat. Most likely your stomach is not...
  18. It took me about 4 years to start not feeling hungry all the time and to actually start putting weight on. I could feel physically full but still have the hunger sensation.
  19. That's great! I find the squeaky wheel aproach works pretty well.
  20. I had both the glue in kind and the braided sewn in kind. My friend wanted to experiment on a "white girl" LOL. Since she usually only did black women's hair. I found with the glued in ones you didn't feel them as much but the natural oil from your scalp breaks the glue down, so you have to have it redone more often. I have also seen girls reglue them...
  21. I also have had some of my replies disapear, and I know darn well they were not rude or violating any rules. At first I second guessed myself, wondering what I did wrong. But just figured it was a glitch on the board.
  22. I agree, when I was diagnosed I had absolutely no hope of it ever becoming a common knowledge disease. Since it was so "rare" back then.
  23. I also ended up taking a tranquilizer, which helped with the anxiety attacks allot better than the AD. I took lorazapan, I think that's the generic name, not sure what the brand name is. Ultimately I just had to take control over my life and change the things that caused the panic/anxiety attacks. I know it is very hard to do, I've been there.
  24. I have watched my dad litterally destroy his health, because he refuses to get tested for celiac. He has developed on top of the chronic diarrhea, Misosytis, polymialgia, diabetes and rheumatoid arthrtis. Plus gawd only knows what, that hasn't been diagnosed. He refuses to give up his miller beer and his junk food. He is allergic to rice so he refuses...
  25. She really dominates the show, doesn't she.
