  1. After dealing with thyroid for 7+ years I've decided tsh means jack crap. At least for me. If its high, it's just easier to get docs to pay attention - so it's convenient. The meat and potatoes are in the free hormone tests and antibodies. So, get antibody panels and free t3/t4 and rt3, and take it from there.
  2. If you were biopsies after the steroids (within 3 months seems to be what I hear, but who knows) the biopsy had a strong chance if being falsely negative. And, you've been gluten-free so long....antibodies should be low. So, yes, some people develop a DH type rash as a glutening reaction after going gluten-free. But rashes seem to go along with ai and gluten...
  3. I am not familiar with all of the suave shampoos. I'd assume each one is different. I know others use it, perhaps they'll chime in? I use suave unscscented hairspray and its fine. As far as ingredients go, yes...look for wheat derivatives. Cosmetics are difficult. I suggest visiting the Gluten Free Makeup Gal: Open Original Shared Link I use Dawn dish...
  4. I've learned to take into consideration even the most ignorant of employees opinions....BECAUSE sometimes they know things they can't directly say. Such as....yeah, it may be gluten-free ingredients but they cc the heck out of it because they touch glutenous foods without washing up...OR....they refill that container with random crap and that container doesn...
  5. Oh, I don't suggest going back on gluten!! Nope nope! If it quacks like gluten, it's probably gluten...and in your husbands case...sounds like allergic involvement, too.
  6. Less fruit, more veg if you can...
  7. I know exactly what you're talking about. I had hideous clots after my son was born. Looked like an organ falling out through my uterus. The t3/progesterone helped. Also, adrenal balancing. Ugh. A mess.
  8. Okay, I want to make a point. Gemini has great luck not getting cc'd from cosmetics, or shampoo, or lotion...but YOU may not. Being concerned about topical gluten is not exclusively the domain of dh sufferers who break out from topical gluten. We are all different. Just like one of us will not be able to eat X food or be in X environment, some of...
  9. 1) yes, it could be the early stages of DH. Going on/off gluten can increase the intensity (apparently). It also may recede and flare on its own, and increase intensity. 2) No, you aren't imagining the increased symptoms - going off gluten then back on can increase the intensity of symptoms and create new ones. I hope this is the answer for all if you...
  10. I can't remember the name for it but there's a condition (help me here people) where you can have drastic reactions to a certain group of foods (cant remember the name), and glutenous grains are a big chunk if that group. Isn't it the condition that Fasano said can be mistaken for gluten intolerance? I know there's a post. I'll dig for it. It's a differential...
  11. Gluten withdrawal? It can be bad. Have you had your vitamin levels tested? Iron, b, d, calcium, magnesium etc. I see lots of grainy carbs. Personally, I'd scale back on the grainy stuff and add more veggies. But I respond to veggies positively and grains negatively. A good chunk of gluten intolerants do...something to consider. Did you go through celiac...
  12. Having just come back from vacation, I can tell you it's important to make an effort to eat whole foods as frequently as possible. I am pretty sure I'm suffering from too much processed foods / too much low level gluten exposure after two weeks of living with gluten eaters and their gluten. I relied too much on processed foods.... Honestly, the cruise...
  13. Rule #1: You can not make assumptions about anything. Rule #2: We are not your guinea pigs. You do realize what you said was, essentially, "I'm going to make possibly gluten contaminated food and serve it to gluten intolerants and when they get sick and tell me there was something wrong, I'll try to improve my contamination practices." Right...
  14. I don't know of one, but I'd look for one using fresh buttermilk. I can make mile high pancakes and cakes using fresh buttermilk.
  15. According to my ND that's a symptom of estrogen dominance and low progesterone. After adding more progesterone cream and upping my t3 meds my periods are finally only 5 days long and minimal clotting. Btw, I get the barometric pressure headaches. And normally, only in winter. Though, since my FL trip (and apparent low level gluten exposure), I've been having...
  16. You need to do some reading of materials meant for businesses selling "gluten free" foods. No gluten ingredients - means just that. No gluten ingredients. YOU must call your suppliers and ask if the ingredients contain gluten, and use dedicated ingredients (no double dipping into shortening that you used while baking gluten). You must use good kitchen practices...
  17. Endometriosis is a 24/7 experience. Some days can be better/worse but overall it's all the time. I don't know if c is linked to endo...sounds like that's something linked with an intolerance. Have you tried asking some if the super sensitives about what packaged food may contain - ALL packaged food? A preservative? Geez. I do sympathize. I went through...
  18. Endometriosis pain is unfortunately as vague as celiac pain...but it's worth a read.
  19. Dani, do you think it could be ovarian pressure? I know you feel it after you eat...but maybe it's pressure from gas, or the rumbling of your gi tract protesting....over something. I suggest this because I have had lower abdominal pain mixed with pain that was probably....endometriosis. I was set up for a vaginal/uterine laperoscopy when I got pregnant...
  20. I love Magners cider. My fave, aside from the French unpasteurized versions that are almost lambic-like -Etienne DuPont Cidre Bouche Brut de Normandie.
  21. I have a 5'4" rat that spreads gluten all over my house. So, very little gluten for my spawn (at home). Hubs is well trained (and brushed and washed). It may be a bug. I had a nasty one last year, I swear it took 2 months to feel normal. I would have sworn it was gluten except Spawn Rat had same symptoms. I know your appetite is down, but maybe consider...
  22. After all these weird symptoms after all these years...I'd say "sure, why not?". Bottom line - off is "off". If your body is off, alls fair.
  23. I took and still take them. But c due to gluten and thyroid disease can not be I cured by probiotics alone. If it could, I would have done it years ago. My son has c. Probiotics don't fix him either. His gluten-free trial is coming....
  24. Are you kissing a gluten eater???? Do they eat around the house? In your bed? That said, at almost 1 year gluten-free I became sensitive to commercial mint flavoring. Made everything go right through me. Could have knocked me over with a feather. No big cramping, sickness otherwise...just a complete emptying of my intestines. Bye bye junior mints.
