  1. I work in publishing doing business / finance for a magazine.
  2. I actually had a friend that was (or maybe still is) exactly like you as far as the smoking and depression. I was always trying to help her get clean, but I don't know if she ever really truly had the desire or motivation to, like it seems you do. I always made it a point to be there for her to have someone to talk to; but unfortunately she decided to disappear...
  3. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. <<<<BIG HUGS>>>>
  4. CONGRATS!!!!!! And I just read this thread, but so glad to hear the baby is doing well
  5. I think it was more likely the chips that glutened you. I eat Lara bars pretty much everyday and they are all gluten free so I don't think there would even be the potential for cross contamination. Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you feel better soon.
  6. I made them once a little over a year ago and also had problems. I had been extremely careful that there was no cross contamination on my part making them, or anything else I had eaten that day. I never made them again after that. I wouldn't rule out all their products but I just stear clear of the brownies.
  7. I know we've covered this before but I just want to double check. Is Duncan Hines Cream Cheese Frosting gluten free? I usually only buy Pillsbury, but they didn't have the cream cheese one and I'm making a carrot cake for my brother's birthday (who is also celiac). I already bought it but just want to double check before using it. All the ingrients...
  8. Love these crackers!! They taste like a cross between a Ritz and a Saltine. Open Original Shared Link free.com/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=108009
  9. I don't see them on Amazon (only the banana flax seed ones, but here is a link from Glutino's site. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link There new pretzels are also incredible. My husband actually told me a few weeks ago that he no longer likes regular pretzels after eating these
  10. Anyone have a recommendation for a rice cooker. I love just plain white rice, but DH wants to make the sticky Chinese rice sometimes. I got the Zo bread machine and love it and was thinking of getting that brand for a rice cooker as well, but figured I would get recommendations. They have a bunch of models but I was just going to get one of the less expensive...
  11. I should add, I usually just buy a package of 3 chicken breasts and use all of them without modifying the recipe. I make this for 2 people and it's great because it still makes tons for a couple helpings of leftovers
  12. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she lived a wonderfully full life with a family that loved her. I like the first poem best. It made me cry. My thoughts are with you and your family. xoxo
  13. Mmmmm... love those! (Actually I love any ice cream - hehe).
  14. I haven't tried the Glutino Flax Seed ones, but the plain ones that are shaped like a Ritz cracker are incredible! Other than rice crackers, they are the only cracker I will eat. They kinda taste like a cross between a Saltine and a Ritz cracker.
  15. Yeah these are great!
  16. Anna has a wonderful gluten free mix for Banana Bread; and it's not to pricey. (although I think my view of what is pricey and what isn't has become skewed - lol)! Actually all of her bread mixes are wonderful. Open Original Shared Link Also, a lot of people when their intestine is first healing can be slightly lactose intolerant and not handle...
  17. I vaguely remember someone mentioning a few months ago on here that there was an article in one of the Martha Stewart magazines, Everyday Food. Does anyone remember this and know what issue it was? I tried to do a search on here but didn't find the post.
  18. One of my friends is in there PR Dept, so she's getting a big thank you
  19. My brother's wife had an adorable baby boy yesterday evening. He is so tiny and cute!!!! I can't wait to get back to the hospital to see him again
  20. Thanks!!!! My husband is out on Long Island today, so I am going to see if the bakery that carries her bagels (Sweet Karma) has it yet and have him bring it home
  21. CONGRATS!!!!!!! So exciting! I'm gonna be an aunt for the 1st time any day now too
  22. I don't remember the name of the company, but I remember when I moved into my house, a friend sent me a basket full of gluten-free goodies to munch on while we unpacked
  23. I was actually just coming on to send you (Deb) a thank you along with all the other volunteers of the Suffolk County Celiac group for putting on such an incredible event!! I was completely stuffed by the time I left. LOL!!! I wanted to come find you, but I was really hot and I couldn't believe how many people were already there when I got there...
  24. Does anyone know if this is gluten-free? I was getting my nails done the other day and they wanted to use it, but I wasn't sure if it was ok.
  25. I believe the brownies are only in the NYC area right now, as a test market. I also heard that they come from a completely seperate bakery than any of the other baked goods. I haven't tried them yet because I am a bit hesitant about cc. I'd like to see them maybe come individually wrapped from the bakery. I'm thinking of going into Starbucks when it's maybe...
