  1. NIkki, Scary eh? This has happened to me twice and freaked me out. Same scenario as you, once with my son and once with my Hubs. The two times were relatively close together. Like you, my son and Hubs looked at me and said "What?" Has not happened to me since and I hope never again. In the beginning of going gluten free I would catch myself...
  2. Funkflex, No, you should not be on antibiotics, unless of course they are prescribed by your doctor. A lot of dairy may cause some constipation. Since you are swinging back and forth it is probably the food your eating. Moderate dairy, chocolate, breads and pastas. Eat more greens, fruits and nuts. Hopefully you will start to normalize. Good...
  3. The OP has not been active since February. They may not see your reply. Colleen
  4. I read that when I researched the ingredients. To the OP, I would recommend weighing the pros and cons with that one. Colleen
  5. The active ingredient is the chemical (medicine). The inactive ingredients is where there would be gluten, used as a filler. Colleen
  6. Wilsons Disease does not have a connection to Celiac Disease. Here is information for you: Open Original Shared Link Good Luck with the testing. Colleen
  7. A cheesy bean dip with Tostidos. Home made Chex mix.
  8. The inactive ingredients are: CELLULOSE, MICROCRYSTALLINE SILICON DIOXIDE CROSPOVIDONE HYDROGENATED COTTONSEED OIL These are gluten free. Hope this helps. Colleen
  9. You are asking about IBD? We usually discuss Celiac Disease here. If you are concerned that you might have Celiac Disease then you should talk to your doctor about any symptoms you are having. Working 3rd shift will contribute to fatigue as it is disrupts the normal circadian rhythm. All the best. Colleen
  10. You said: my GI symptoms were at least 80% resolved! This is a good sign that gluten may be a problem for you. My other possibly gluten related symptoms are not however, and I have been experiencing what must be awful withdrawal. Withdrawal can last up to 3 weeks. At 9/10 I started having constant, bad headaches. Can also be a symptom of Celiac...
  11. Welcome to the Forum Tonalynn, As you have read, you most likely will start to feel better than you have in quite some time. When your having a hard day, come here and cry, when you are mad, come here and rant. AND, when you start feeling better, come here and gloat. We will help you every step of the way. Have fun at your Party! Colleen
  12. If your sodium is low then the Doc may order a urine test to check sodium levels there too. If you're low in blood test only, then your body is losing sodium for an unknown cause (malabsorbtion?). If it is low in your urine also, then you are not taking enough sodium in and should eat more salt. This also happened to me (malabsortion). My Doctor told...
  13. When my protein was lowest I was losing hair too. No problem with nails but my nails grow superfast and are wicked strong. I think I would have to be dead for them to fall off Glad your doing better. Coleen
  14. Making sure your hydrated is just something you have to do regardless if your thirsty or not. Really can't see how being "not thirsty" is a problem. I wouldn't give it a second thought unless you are having a myriad of symptoms that make you suspect something is wrong. Good Luck. Colleen
  15. Hi Student, There is no harm in starting a gluten free diet on your own. Give it around 3 months to decide if it is for you or not. Just keep in mind that if you ever do get tested for Celiac, you would need to start eating gluten again. Best of luck, Colleen
  16. Caniac, My husband frequents 4 groups on Facebook. Doctors really don't understand the issues Addisonians deal with in real life. I will PM you the group names so as to not divert from the topic of this thread. Keep on learning about Celiac and the life long commitment to the Gluten Free Diet. Soon you will be an old pro. Good luck, Colleen
  17. The numbers in brackets are the ranges. The TTG is positive, If the " IgA coeliac " test is actually the EMA IgA total serum then that is normal showing the TTG could be a false positive. You really need to review them with your Doctor who can take the blood tests, any symptoms and your history all into consideration. All the best. Colleen
  18. I use a protein product that can be used for juicing, shakes or just added to milk or water. It's Sunwarrier Protein and is in powder form. It is Gluten Free, Vegan, non-GMO and Hypo-Allergenic. It is 83% raw protein. Colleen
  19. The healing process takes time. Your body is using a lot of energy to do this. I would not go nuts looking for additional reasons for feeling tired. Make sure you get good sleep and exercise. When you have your normal follow up with your Doctor, he can check your thyroid and vitamin levels at that time. Good luck to you. Colleen
  20. Yea, I don't think I would have her sit separately. Although I wonder if she is getting cross-contaminated with her school lunch. It is prepared in the same kitchen at school? Or do you pack her lunch? Otherwise, like you said, look for other intolerances. Dairy would be the first to try. I don't know of any apps. Colleen
  21. I think you now have decided that going gluten free is in your best interest. It sounds like your initial "small" reaction to trying gluten turned into a rather large one. As noted on the path report, there was scalloping which is Hallmark to Celiac Disease. Did you follow up with your Doctor to review this report? Is he confident in a Celiac diagnosis...
  22. It does sound like she is still getting gluten. Most likely at school. And I'm assuming she is in school and not home schooled. When your first diagnosed, the motivation is great to comply with the diet because the reward is immediate, feels better. Then she's out for summer vacation, the diet is still going well, Mom is still making food decisions....
  23. Sjogren's will not necessarily cause fatigue by itself, Controlled Celiac will not cause fatigue by itself. Stopping the autoimmune reaction in your body by committing to a gluten free diet will very much lessen the fatigue you feel. Of course, the effects of Addison's Disease will always be with you. But giving your body the best possible environment...
  24. Salax, Your right. I saw romaine lettuce and thought cesar. Thanks for the correction. Colleen
  25. I use Thai Rice Noodles when I make Fettuccini. In the beginning its nice and creamy...Yummers. I go back to the dish five minutes later and its dried up and stuck to the pot. The joys of gluten free cooking! Colleen
