  1. ALVoo3 looks promising, but I am holding out for the ability to make me a new lupus-free, celiac-free, immunodfeciency-free body when I am an old lady so I can finally enkoy myelf! LOL
  2. Addy, that is great to hear. With a lot of those specialty drugs... as you say, why do I even have insurance? LOL Yesterday I went to walmart to pick up a few things, don't go there often. Checked out the gluten-free section as always, and they have walmart brand gluten-free products now. Mac n cheese, deluxe mac n cheese (shells and a regular one...
  3. User001, as someone who worked in the pharmacy world before becoming disabled by all my health issues, I can tell you confidently that many people do not read medicine labels, let-alone research something properly before taking it. Any time something silly like these products is marketed to the world of gluten haters and Celiacs, and we can spread the truth...
  4. With Marsh 2 changes on his endoscopy, it is possible they also ran bloodwork but missed the diagnosis of Celiac. If there is another GI doctor you can take him to, I would request copies of his chart from them and keep one for when he is older, and let the new doctor review what testing has already been done. But overall, he does seem to need to be gluten...
  5. Oh yes, I remember why I navigated to this thread today, now. I had a great GI day! Congrats to us all, and to those who have yet to attain it, we are here to help you through your journey! Open Original Shared Link
  6. Open Original Shared Link There is a clickable link for the less tech savvy of our readers. It is a good read. Thanks for pointing us to it, Beth!
  7. This is the joy of the internet and specifically, message boards. Naturechick, you replied to the OP. It was read by someone else as a reply to the comment above your reply, since you hadn't quoted anyone. It does look like currantbun could use a little help in this department and not be laughed at, and the wonderful setup of the internet message board...
  8. Hi Goregemom, and welcome to the forum! Generally, the point of a gluten challenge is to make a proper diagnosis possible. Before you go back gluten-free, you may want to look into getting yourself tested. Also, do you know what tests were ran on the kids? The fact that the kids show improvement on a gluten-free diet means they may have Non Celiac Gluten...
  9. As Karen said, abdominal massage can help. You can also lay on the ground with your face down, cup your belly with both forearms, and roll back and forth a little. Also, laying on your left side helps things escape more naturally due to the placement of the exit route.
  10. I'm relieved to hear you were gluten-free for all those years. I highly recommend going to see a real doctor. I would start with a visit with your primary care doctor, and they can refer you from there.
  11. I would eat the cake. I agree, you are very thoughtful, and you seem to understand the needs of the Celiac world. I will add that you may want to do a practice run with the cake layers... sometimes gluten-free stuff comes out a bit different, so give yourself time to remake the layers if you need.
  12. I agree with nvsmom/nicole, I think people tend to notice it more easily. But the main thing is that everyone is different, you just have to go with the flow
  13. It would be a great idea to do the mixing and decorating in there, less to worry about.
  14. While the over the top approach may not be necessary for everyone, I think your approach consuming corona and regular kikkoman is unwise. Although you may not feel it, purposefully ingesting gluten containing products does harm you in the long run. I urge you to re-think what you are doing. You don't have to get outright glutening symptoms from something...
  15. I have picked up their box noodle mixes, I think alfredo, and butter herb flavors, and they were pretty good. Better than most corn pastas, which I usually don't like.
  16. Welcome, nooblet! A lot of people are misdiagnosed before actually getting a Celiac diagnosis, sadly. Did your doctor tell you how bad your damage was on the endoscopy? (May have said something like Marsh 1, Marsh 2, Marsh 3, Marsh 4, blunted villi, etc.) Overall, the damage in your gut takes a long time to heal. It can be months before you see changes...
  17. My late father was a smoker, so he always had his alone time on the back porch to have a cigarette. They had a hanging planter out there, and a bird would nest in it every year. For the time that the eggs were laid until the babies were gone from the nest, only he could go out there and smoke and the bird be okay with it. If anyone else went out there...
  18. It definitely seems that with your situation, it would help your happiness to have an official diagnosis. I agree with you keeping it a secret, there is no reason to disclose things to your family that they can get on to you over. Definitely eat gluten for 12 weeks before doing a blood test. For an endoscopy, it doesn't have to be as long, but a lot of...
  19. Janedoe, does this mean you have not been eating gluten free? Or have you been gluten-free for ten years? That makes a huge difference.
  20. you really can't go wrong. Piling on pounds of cheese makes everything delicious
  21. Sriracha is gluten-free. Thank god, or I would die of sadness. LOL
  22. After everything is in and the diagnosis is finalized, it is a good idea to get copies of all the labwork so your daughter can have them for future reference. Some of the labs have different ranges of normals, but usually for the TTG IGA, over 4-10 is high, and from talking to people on here, their high numbers many times fall in the 12-30ish range. (that...
  23. Welcome, Becky! Those numbers definitely are very high, only a matter of formality to wait for an official Celiac diagnosis now. There is a ton of good info here on just about everything. Also a lot of people with kiddos who can give you advice on their similar situations. This forum has been around for a long time, so if you use the search function...
