IF a Pizza place offers both gluten and gluten-free pizza....you have a extreme chance of CC, consider the prep area, the flour dusting, the reaching from gluten pizza to topping bins and back, the ladle used to put hte sauce on and spread it from one pizza to another, the pizza peel they use to put in and remove the pizza the cutters.....so many areas where... -
ARCHIVED News: Celiac.com: Are French Fries Gluten Free?
Ennis-TX replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
This is a good point. by example Mc Ds fries in Canada can be Gluten Free if done in a gluten free fryer. Here in America Mc Donald's Fries contain gluten in the fries themselves and are not gluten free. Many store bought fries use gluten in them most hash browns and tater tots also use gluten flour.....I hate how they manage to put them in things that should... -

Ennis-TX replied to Lex-'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I reacted to "Gluten Free" hemp protein....I ate it for a few weeks til I started having symptoms ramp up and sent it off to be tested after my Nima Gluten tester flagged it for positive....came back like I think they said 16ppm.....took awhile but I did have a reaction....been 4 weeks off the stuff and still coming down, so many other issues came back and... -
gluten-free oats still bother many celiacs.....cheerios is notorious lol, We joke gluten free for fad dieters but not celiacs. Try dropping both for awhile. As for the gluten-free flour blend try changing to a paleo blend completely for a bit, might be the starch load in that. Again betting it has xantham gum, might sound odd but if you need help removing...

If you changed to processed gluten breads etc...your doing it wrong those have low fiber, high starch/sugars, and will cause bowel issues galore and need to be consumed in moderation and avoided completely at first. Try adding more fiber like nuts, ground flax, chia seeds ,WHOLE seeds (pumpkin, hemp from mygerbs.com), fresh veggies etc. If you do consider...

Ennis-TX replied to frenchiemama's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
First off old post, second off coffee does not cross react or any of that BS. You probably bought contaminated coffee . Oddly this happens more so then you would think with off brand companies, companies that do flavors, and instant ones. Look up christopherbean coffee, great flavored blends etc all gluten free. We had a huge rant for over a month about... -
ARCHIVED Ancient grain gluten free pizza reaction
Ennis-TX replied to jfhinoh's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Xantham Gum, bothers many, dairy bothers many celiacs also especially newly diagnosed ones, yeast can cause issues in combination with sugars and carbs.....of course any of the seasons or other grains could always have CC.....but very unlikely. I personally just get grain free pizza crust like Califlour Foods plant crust to also avoid the dairy, Toast it... -

https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/119661-gluten-free-food-alternative-list-2017/ Might check out hte Newbie 101 section for tips on cleaning out your kitchen and making it gluten free. Sort of best for the whole house to be gluten-free or she will most likely end up with slips ups constantly....it happens in a shared house, does does not help residue... -

Ennis-TX replied to Jen1104's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I make my own paleo bread in my bakery based off of Julian Bakery bread loafs. It is a gluten, grain, and starch free loaf. Also no xantham gum, Look up julian bakery for bread. They ship theirs by the 3 pack. the coconut and almond are good but they have a good deal on the 3 pack sampler right now. Wish my bakery was allowed to ship our goods but health... -

ARCHIVED Question for those avoiding dairy (casein)?
Ennis-TX replied to Jmg's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Bit but these are unsweetened. More like a bakery extract minus the alcohol, you use 1 drop to each fluid oz. of base to flavor. I Just used the glazed doughnut and the sugar cookie >.> I got a 4oz of each. I used them in my homemade vegan ice cream. The glazed doughnut was....well dead on for the wrong kind of doughnut lol, It tasted like one of those...- 41 replies

ARCHIVED B12 Supplements help with nerve pain?
Ennis-TX replied to Jen1104's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
A sublingual in liquid form is best...and you want a spectrum one that covers not just B12 as they work in combinations. Other thoughts with your nerve issues. A MAJOR issue with many celiacs is magnesium, it can cause numbness, muscle cramps (really noticeable in the legs in the morning), constipation, and a burning nerve prickly feeling when really bad... -
Knorr Bouillon Cubes gluten-free?
Ennis-TX replied to LAR2017's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Knorr...yeah do not use them. I contacted them years ago after issues...they said they can not promise gluten free and they constantly change their sources and ingredients to improve their product. Look at using Stocks like Pacific, Kitchen Basics instead. I heard at one point Better then Bullion was good. And there was one other gluten free one I will look... -
ARCHIVED Could I have celiac’s?
Ennis-TX replied to Katieann24's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Keep eating gluten and get the blood test as mentioned above. Funny thing about this disease, you can have minor symptoms like I did all my life and just thought those quirks where "Normal" you think that way after living with them for 20+ years. As with me seems you also had a substantial hit happen to your immune system, and like me one day after getting... -

Ugg dairy...not even going to rationalize that. >.< 10+ years of latose intolerance here, whey allergy to top it off. >.< I brain washed myself with PETA videos, and anti dairy stuff. I firmly to this day put dog and cow milk on the same level. >.< I do eat cheese daily...vegan cheese. I make cheese sauces...vegan, I have cheddar, parma... -

ARCHIVED Help with Not Feeling Crazy
Ennis-TX replied to pemlhs1201's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Back when I went gluten-free about 5 years ago now, I used to call that mean side of me Mr.Hyde, I was confused all the time and my mind would start looping on the same ideas over and over and I could not move on to a new thought like a broken records....drove me nuts and had me snapping at people and punching walls. Scariest thing in the world is when you... -
ARCHIVED Melatonin Tablets and Coeliacs
Ennis-TX replied to johnojohno's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It is hit and miss many times you need some others things and you have to find your problem, I found 1-4tsp of pumpkin seed protein before bed helps, it actually contains many of the amino acids and compounds to help your body produce serotonin and melatonin to help you wind down naturally and sleep. Along with zinc, protein, and amino acids for recovery... -
ARCHIVED If one Celiac has a reaction, shouldn't we all avoid that item?
Ennis-TX replied to Joelle L.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree with kareng it is a mix of science and how that food treats you. A great example with the gluten liquor is gluten removed beer is very hard to test. but third party tested and newer papers show that gluten is still minutely present in the finished product. Some celiacs do not notice it others do regardless it will cause damage. Other things to... -
ARCHIVED Every Dessert Flavor gluten-free
Ennis-TX posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well as many of you know I run a bakery, and often do smoothies/porridge for myself and use extracts in both to recreate flavors. I have used Amorettis...hit and miss...they had one extract test positive for gluten. LorAnn Oils has been my constant go to, issue is their extracts are great in baking....no consistency in strength and no good in smoothies,...- 9 replies

ARCHIVED Please help
Ennis-TX replied to Julieboatwright's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If your still eating gluten, you need to get tested for the disease, if not.....a gluten challenge is needed to get tested but I am assuming this would put you under too much stress with the D. Seeing a GI doc as mentioned above needs to be done regardless, more info is needed for more relevant information such as when you stopped eating gluten are you gluten...
