  1. Doubt there is any issue but I also doubt they use gluten-free oats when making it lol. Umm perhaps just change product, Bag Balm in the green can is good for raw skin...heck I learned about it cause a old can of it was sitting in my parents medicine cabinet and I learned they had used it for my diaper rash as a baby.
  2. I am on constant stuff for my joints, I take Joint support by jarrow for years now, to the point I just take them in my handful of pills twice a day. I also been using collagen supplement powder in my smoothies twice a day. I think my magnesium also helps. I will admit after a recent knee injury I had to take some extra turmeric daily to get the swelling...
  3. Not really, magnesium you dose to tolerance anyway, B-vitamins...you can not really OD on them at all, you body does not maintain them in your body, your always passing them in your urine. Most find they need up and above level B-vitamins. Everyone is different in what they need and how their body manages it. Start off with small dosing and bring it to where...
  4. Open Original Shared Link One study, found a few others talking about people with celiac developing a separate antibody reaction to oat proteins, and only certain varieties of oats at that that was done in Europe, I found countless threads of others reacting. I recall reading the 10% ratio years ago but can not find the article, hell even several...
  5. As mentioned above it is probably a mixture of Peripheral Neuropathy made worse by vitamin deficiencies, while others mentioned the common culprits of B-vitamins I found my major issue to be magnesium. You might want to consider supplementing, especially after a gluten exposure it can help. On magnesium it can depend on your symptoms and your body what form...
  6. I second the supplementing, celiac leads to damaged intestines and malabsorbtion of nutrients leading to issues with vitamin deficiencies. One other thought keep a food diary, it could also be caused by another food, spice, or additive in said foods. Celiac messes with your immune system and often we develop allergies and food intolerance issues the longer...
  7. Been using the Nima since it came out , it will not work with alcohol, and some bright colored foods can give false positives....it is also HYPER sensitive, it will claim gluten found on stuff below 20ppm...like any trace sometimes. Actually confirmed this on some stuff it found gluten in, I sent a sample of said food to GFWD who lab tested and it came back...
  8. I would say keep a food diary and write down everything she eats, how it is fixed, seasoned etc. See if you can identify a pattern. Many times those of us with this disease develop other food intolerance issues. For now knock her down to a unprocessed whole foods only diet, remove dairy also for a few weeks/months. Dairy, soy, and oats are normally huge issues...
  9. Yeah, i press up and under it applying sort of a pulsing pressure...odd like pressing up and bumping a balloon with water in it...odd but how it seems much harder but the pressing quickly seems to carry the wave motion over to the problem area that seems to be about a inch further up and deeper.
  10. I generally get that when I am gassy...unsure but I think it is like a gas bubble trapped in your large intestine on the upper loop right before heading down to the colon...assuming here on that, I just know if I lay down and massage it, or do leg raises on my back lifting up my hips at the top I feel it move along and and gurgle, painful doing it but seems...
  11. I started a habit 2 years ago of cooking salmon for Christmas, Sorta Turkey on thanksgiving ham for New Years.....did some research and for the actual basis of the Christmas holiday neither red meat, or poultry were actually appropriate but fish would have been. SOO I opted for the one meat I really can eat. I have done a bake with a paprika, bit of cinnamon...
  12. I often look up paleo and keto recipes and modify them, paleo being grain free, and keto being carb free normally are very easy to change up. I also post recipes of things I have created or altered on the forum blog. I often recreate recipes from my past Working on a low carb grain free cinnamon roll recipe right now. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/blogs...
  13. My recent exposure left my joints swollen and stiff, the hot and cold is helping...did not think alternating like would work but it did. >.< I will admit what happened once I confirm the culprit. >.> my paranoid self is a bit ashamed about it but a bit of a learning experience I guess.
  14. Expensive but yeah should work, I use Hugo Naturals hand soap myself as it does not dry out my hand like other soaps, I also keep a bar of Grandpas Soap Pine Tar soap in my travel bag. I use EO Shampoo and conditioner myself. Body wash I fell in love with this one from the seaweed company that has a lovely orange scent. I also use Acure Facial Scrubs and...
  15. The whole stress thing is partially due to nutrient malabsorbation in celiacs, B vitamins are a big culprit and magnesium is another. You mention dreams which is odd for people with a magnesium deficiency (most with this do not dream til they start supplementing from my observations) but she still may want to get it checked. I take 2 different caffeine free...
  16. Morgans rum is made form molasses.....you know sugar cane....hell only liquor I keep around the house at all times....I can not even drink but I use it in cooking.
  17. If your in the USA I have sources for many places to shop gluten free and even sometimes post on sales I find. I even have a few tricks to stack coupons, rebates, etc to bring stuff down to SAD diet pricing in some cases. I live on a annual income of under 10k I know the hardships more then most.
  18. Fun Fact, if she removes gluten early on before developing other intolerance/allergies she can still enjoy gluten free versions of stuff. Barilla, Capellos, and a few other companies make gluten free lasagna noodles....I opted for years to use zucchini sliced longways with a mandolin into strips and using them was like a hybrid ratatooi/lasagna. But yeah...
  19. Start a new topic/thread, you just opened up a thread that has been dead since 2013. On this a personal opinion would be yes, hunt around for a celiac savvy one. You will most likely have some other food/intolerance issues. You will need to have you blood checked and supplement in some things starting off. THIS is normal til your gut heals and you can...
  20. Sometimes with AI disease other issues crop up, histamine responses, and mast cell syndrome are a few, the wine brought this to mind. Also issues with tannins in wines affect many of us. Do some research into histamine intolerance, low histamine diets. Keep a food journal and see how and what foods effect you and cause what symptoms. With celiac disease...
  21. Both good points above, I would say soups/stews/egg dishes/nut butters keep it easy on the gut, I might really suggest lowering her intake of sugars, fruit, starchy foods to prevent gas as much as possible. More stewed meats, homemade soups, easy and soft cooked eggs (like microwaved omelette makers), and spoons of nut butters. and maybe some easy to digest...
  22. I will forever be adamant about not promoting this product as a full on gluten eliminator/miracle pill that makes gluten safe. Fact is if you eat gluten even if taking a double dose of this you will still get sick.....with light CC and issues where a food might contain very minor below 20ppm I would say yes it might eliminate all noticeable symptoms but your...
  23. Dayia makes a gluten free and dairy free cheese cake I think, LorrAnn Oils makes dairy free and gluten free cheese cake extract which you can add to almond milk puddings, porridge, icings, dairy free yogurt etc for all the glory. I personally make my own,,,not even close to as rich and glorious as the real thing but fits with my additional issues. I use my...
  24. Due to me being unable to have carbs due to antoher AI complication and cooking for my diabetic parents, I came up with a whole bunch of low carb/keto recipes including rolls, cakes, breads etc. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/blogs/blog/1202-gluten-free-and-specialty-diet-recipes/ If you need help finding anything else I know companies that...
  25. Hi I have a bit of a list I compiled a bit earlier in the year, needs some updates but has some baking flours/mixes listed. I also have a list of some recipes I have compiled. NOW note I do not cook with grains anymore period so most are going to be denser, grain free. still some nice treats. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/119661-gluten-free-food-alternative...
