  1. I believe you wish you could have a donut, still addicted, because you appear to be defending wheat. There was a clinical trial: "In 2013, scientists at Careggi University Hospital in Florence decided to see if health markers changed when people switched between eating modern wheat and KAMUT® brand khorasan wheat" .https://wholegrainscouncil.org/blog/201...
  2. I believe it safe to say that there are no health benefits to eating gluten. The benefit of a celiac diagnosis is that celiac causes a comorbidity with malabsorption syndrome and subsequent vitamin and mineral deficiencies. With diagnosis you know your risk. Unfortunately the medical profession continues to ignore this proven fact. Many mainstream doctors...
  3. Ariadne100 your symptoms are not weird, just side effects of the damage done by a diet that includes wheat. As you heal you'll likely be able to reintroduce those foods. In the meantime ensure you are getting a minimum 100% or more of all the essential vitamins and minerals, through food or supplement. It will speed your recovery. Don't forget choline, calcium...
  4. Easy and profitable for him. No wonder you don't trust him. Maybe he broke a glow plug and is CYA. If he got air in the injector lines and did not get it bled out or left one or more loose it could cause the shaking. If air in the lines and not leaking it will eventually self bleed and you are back to where you started. If a line is leaking, it won't. "Look...
  5. I started a rudimentary journal to track calories. The hardest part was getting out of ostrich mode. The last few years I've been eating only enough for sustenance, based on Fuhrman's six week plan, and the my adaptation of the protocol they used on me for pancreatitis (NPO and rest) when I was hospitalized for that back in 1995. So the anorexia was beneficial...
  6. Thanks. It looks intriguing, the whole beriberi thing and Japan. And I do drink lots of coffee. There is no upper RDA for thiamine. Now I think I understand why I seem to prefer fresh garlic. I am going to try a 60 day trial of it in addition to the thiamine hydrochloride in the B12 complex I am already taking. For $15 bucks it is a worthy experiment.
  7. Dumb question: have you tried a different brand of fuel. Back in 1984, Oldsmobile Cutlass had injectors that would clog up specifically customers using Exxon gas. The next year GM changed the injectors and the problem went away. Here's a fun video from https://www.chevronlubricants.com/en_us/home/products/techron-diesel.html
  8. Techron D is specifically for cleaning diesel injectors while Seafoam is a general engine cleaner with additives to boost combustion that compensates for the fouling.
  9. I've been on APO Prednisone since 2012. Started for the acute gout pain and continued because it is the only thing that helped my arthritis and fibromyalgia and it is cheap and no life threatening side effects. And it helps with mood to boot.
  10. Once the primary cause is removed (gluten) it will take time for the digestive system to return to normal.
  11. Mainstream doctors, regardless of specialty, do not consider nutritional status when diagnosing your symptoms. They are not trained in it and don't get reimbursed by the insurance for treating it. Most of the symptoms described above could be the result of deficiencies, possibly caused by celiac disease that has gone long term untreated. Many could be side...
  12. Sorry you are feeling so bad. "Engine codes say 2 injectors...probably going to have to have them replaced around $500-700 and ask my family for help paying for it." Before doing that try running a tank or two with injector cleaning additive like Techron D. They are more likely to have built up deposits than to have failed especially if the previous...
  13. My dairy intolerance resolved after I started eating homemade fermented pickles. Our bodies can make lactase, but not in sufficient quantity. The lactobacillus that you reintroduce to your gut biome picks up the slack. Note: look for salt fermented pickles, olives and sauerkrauts. Soy sauce is mostly wheat.
  14. I have built up to 14 different vitamins pills a day, added one at a time to gauge it's effect. My health mental and physical is steadily improving, gut issues virtually gone, even when I occasionally eat gluten (by accident or rarely on purpose). My target is 100% of the minimum RDA's so I guaranty myself at least the minimum each day, even when my anorexia...
  15. Try Cold-Eze. 13.3 mg per lozenge. The zinc coats your mucus membranes and protects them from attack of the virus. You might be zinc deficient. RDA upper limit is 40 mg and the minimum daily requirement is 8 mg for women and the NIH puts Celiac Disease as a high risk factor. I started using it in 2004 and have not had more than a slight sniffle since. Also...
  16. When we grew up in the 50's in the US most baked goods were treated with iodine. Iodine became of interest because of it's protective effect in the event of nuclear attack so the military started to stockpile. We also were led to believe Mercurochrome was better than Tincture of Iodine for small cuts. Overall leading to a 50% decrease in iodine, an essential...
  17. They are looking for gastrointestinal bleeding. If you are taking supplements with iron it could be that. Salad is your friend. If you Google it there are 200 symptoms, aside from Celiac Disease that are caused by a gluten diet. I counted 18 in myself. Since Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorption once you start noticing symptoms it is only the beginning...
  18. My dairy intolerance was getting worse until I started eating fermented pickles and sauerkraut and olives instead of vinegar based. The science: salt fermenting promotes lactobacillus that supplements your body's production of lactase.
  19. Here is a list I compiled for myself. I hope it can help you. Vitamin RDA Upper Limit RDA Male/Female Celiac High Risk A (Preformed) 3000 mcg RAE 900/700 mcg RAE no A...
  20. Good luck with your doctor appointment. Be sure to discuss vitamin deficiency with him. For winter blues I am on 10,000 iu D3. 5 mg a day of Lithium Orotate eases my anxiety and for upset stomach I prefer Alka-Selzer. It neutralizes the acid temporarily (you need hydrochloric acid to digest food) and the aspirin is a mild analgesic/anti inflammatory and to...
  21. It is folic acid, not folate that is the problem. Since folic acid was first synthesized in the 1980s there has been reduced neural tube birth defects but there also has been an increase in prostate cancer and I think I read somewhere also endometriosis. I avoid multivitamins because they almost all have folic acid, vitamin E and beta-carotene vitamin A....
  22. This is the office, Petach Tikva, Israel; the Chief Physician’s Office, that diagnosed my son in 1976.
  23. Gluten is also addictive so there are withdrawal symptoms at first. It messes with your head and body.
  24. Lisinopril for high blood pressure gave me a dry cough that kept waking me every two hours and eventually caused an inguinal hernia. Amlodipine also for HBP caused my contact lenses to dry out and I needed to constantly use saline eye drops to maintain my vision. Once off them my vision improved and the cough is gone. In 1976 my son at six months...
