  1. I've been using Ghirardelli.
  2. Keep your sandwich bread away from your wife and don't let her make your sandwiches. You have to have the mindset ~ that bag of bread is poison. It is an all or nothing diet. She has to go through all personal hygeine products like lipstick. You have to read every label, even if it is a condiment. (most soy sauce has wheat in it) Avoid eating out...
  3. The Celiac gene test through Prometheus Labs has a higher error rate than what doctors first admit. 98% accuracy rate (they know at least 2% will not be detected), any blood test has at least a thirty percent error rate. (from the person drawing the blood, sample storage, and the technitions ability to ran and read the test) There is currently some studies...
  4. Diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis about 10 years before figuring out this gluten thing. A year after going gluten free I was cut down on my thyroid dosage, and expect I will be cut down in the dosage at my next re-check. L.
  5. It is totally worth it! There are too many gluten free things to eat. You can find a very good gluten free product to replace just about anything. L. By the way all my tests came back negative too.
  6. If you want an official diagnoses you have to remain on gluten and have the Celiac blood panel. L.
  7. How cute!!!! Good luck with training your little fur ball! Hide your expensive shoes! L.
  8. Tests for a patient under 24 months are not very accurate. Make sure a FULL celiac panel has been tested for. The endoscopy with biopsy is hit or miss. How many biopsies is the doctor going to take? There is genetic testing available. I don't believe every gene associated with celiac disease has been identified, in fact I believe Columbia University...
  9. You can get a copy of the delphi forum gluten free list. PM me your address and I can send it to you. ALWAYS READ THE LABELS because companies change their ingredients so often that you can only use a list as a guideline. L.
  10. You're going to love the UGG's! They may not be the cutest footwear, but they are sooo comfortable. L.
  11. I just want to add to the other's posts. Make sure you go through your personal hygeine products. I made myself sick early into the gluten free diet from lipgloss. L.
  12. I get cold all of the time too. Layer your clothes and invest in a pair of UGGS. I found some at TJ Maxx for 1/2 the normal price. They are awesome! If they are off my feet, they are usually on the floor next to the bed. Those little hand warmers that hunters use are very nice too. L.
  13. I liked the Orgran products I tried. I can't seem to find it locally. I've been using Kinniknick gluten free flour. It has the gum ingredients added and uses peas for the gluten consistency (just like Orgran's gluten free gluten replacer). You would have to buy a lot of excess rice flour, potato starch, and corn starch to make up the Bette Hagman flour...
  14. He was most likely glutened from the soy ingredient. Hormel's pepperoni is gluten free, and is labeled gluten free. L.
  15. I don't know if it a midwest slang thing , but my elf name is a term for something VERY nasty. I don't know maybe the elf name has been getting complaints and they are sticking to "safer" names now. L.
  16. annatto can cause "D", but not because of gluten. L.
  17. bump
  18. fuzzy snowballer here. L.
  19. Yes, I have been glutened from a kiss. It was at a funeral. I helped set all the food up, and couldn't eat any. My husband had to leave early and gave me a kiss after eating a cookie for desert. I could taste the sweetness of the cookie. L.
  20. That is very interesting. It raises alot of questions in my mind about the genetic diseases. This just adds a new layer to the puzzle. It reminds of the cases of chimera, with no outward signs. (I am my own twin - Discovery or learning channel) L.
  21. Thanks Nini, You said that way better than I did. L.
  22. I really liked the Orgran's products I tried too. When I tried to go back to the store I got it from, the store was gone, leveled to the ground. L.
  23. It is not uncommon for blood tests to show nothing and a person has very obvious symptoms after ingesting gluten. I can not even try and count all the members on the board are self diagnosed, because of negative blood work and negative biopsy. If you still have other concerns, have the other testing done to be sure there are not other issues along with...
  24. My daughter was finally diagnosed at the age of 17 months. She was breastfed and had signs of fat malabsobtion in her bm's, well before being introduced to solids. L. When I did introduce rice cereal, it was a major problem for my daughter. (It was at the age of introducing solids, I never thought the rice cereal in formula was a good idea for the reasons...
  25. I know what you mean about the bean flours! I've been using Kinnikinnick. Ingedients white rice flour, tapioc starch, potato starch, sugar, inulim, fructooligosaccharide, glucono delta lactone, dextrose, whole egg powder, sodium bicarbonate, egg white powder, pea fibre, rice bran extract, sodium carboxy methylcellulose, pea protein, salt, fructose L...
