I know this is a TMI, but I have had chronic constipation and slow movement my whole life or diarrhea so I am excited to share and I know you all understand!

I have actually had a whole week where I pooped everyday!!!!!  Never happened to me before in my life.  All normal, not too soft, not too hard, still a rainbow but hey, I pooped every day.  Just had to share my excitement with people who understand. Thanks for reading lol

I, too, have joy of this nature when things are going smoothly.  LOL.  You are not alone in the happy poop boat!

Oh yes.....we always celebrate the "normal BM" around here for sure! (I had alternating bowels aka "IBS") my entire life, so I truly "get this"!

There is so much joy in not having one's life ruled by the amount of time spent in the loo.

Keep up the good work!

My boyfriend thought I was crazy for posting this until I let him read the responses, he laughed.  I feel like I just graduated Poop School at the age of 37.  I hate to see what a diploma from there would look like lol.

I'm super excited for you! I had D constantly for months...had a solid BM after a month gluten free and was so excited. I told my husband...I had a normal poop...me!

I know how you feel.  I have been a stranger to constipation all my life.  Just recently I flew home from a family visit, and got a bit dehydrated.  I was fairly delighted when I suffered my first real episode of constipation.  I cured it with a celebratory bowl of icecream.  As I am lactose intolerant, it was not pretty, but it was effective.

No, I for one get that being very new to all of this myself.  I for one cheered at what seemed to be a normal trip to the bathroom.

I don't think this is funny.

I don't think this is funny.

I was rather peeved when I first saw this comment and had a few choice words.

But I edited and will simply clarify that I generally don't get into discussions with other people commenting in a thread, hijacking the conversation or taking it in a different direction. Rather, I respond to the original poster's comment. It is their thread.

I still think that beth's post was quite humorous, very human, and I love when people share their embarrassments as well as their pride, and in this case, a little of both.

Beth01, kudos to you for having a sense of humor despite all that you are going through.

kareng,

I get that you like to criticize other people's posts. But did it cross your mind that I was responding to the original post and not commenting on the post before mine?

Some of us like to stick to the topic that the original poster started rather than get into arguments with other people commenting.

I give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that you have the best of intentions, but a lot of the time, it feels as if you are bullying other people, as you just did to me.

This is the joy of the internet and specifically, message boards.  Naturechick, you replied to the OP.  It was read by someone else as a reply to the comment above your reply, since you hadn't quoted anyone.  It does look like currantbun could use a little help in this department and not be laughed at, and the wonderful setup of the internet message board thing is going to lead to misunderstandings like this.  I don't think Karen's comment is bullying... you can really read through the thread two ways, and in one she is the one who is not nice, and in the other Naturechick is the one who is not nice.  If you read through it as given, it does seem like your comment wasn't the nice one, so it is good to get clarification that you were laughing at the overall jist of the thread.  Because poop=funny.  I don't care how old you are.

I also will not forget the day when mine started to come out like clockwork ;)

CONGRATULATIONS! WE ARE HAPPY FOR YOU! ;) ;) ;)

I had one of those S poos that they talk about on Dr OZ for the first time last week. I was pretty pleased with myself.  Congrats on your poo

I used to have this daily or even sometimes and even orange color. I did have it after going gluten-free too, but less often now, and it seems to be getting better daily. I would talk to my doctor about it, your poos should be getting better not worse.

I know what you mean.  After my scopes, it took 6 days to have a BM.  After fits and starts with getting "regular" - avoiding the gluten has made me regular.  If I don't go daily, with a solid BM, at least I'm going every other day.  I still have occasional D, but not nearly like it used to be.

I have also been able to maintain my weight between 163 and 167, depending on the day, the time of day, etc. when weighed, but I'm not following a weight loss plan, and I have begun to eat some gluten-free sweets (let me say, Tate's gluten-free choc. chip cookies are the bomb).  I am on vacation this week, and after its over, I plan to eat "better" again.  2 years ago, I weighed 200 lbs.

After about 3 months of avoiding sweets, except the occasional ice cream (and I really don't like ice cream much) I missed the crunch of a baked good, especially muffins.  I bought Bob's gluten-free corn bread mix, and that was doing it for me.  My husband brought home Udi's bagels, and a brand of gluten-free bread called All But Gluten, and I have to say, I do enjoy eating a hard boiled egg on toast again!

Anyhow, avoiding the gluten has "normalized" my digestion and my BMs, so I know where you are coming from.

LOL, Not too much TMI at all !!! That's why we are all here!!!! I too, have the exact same problem. Its good to know that according to you all, I'm 'normal'.  I was only diagnosed 2 weeks ago so I look forward to being "consistent" !!! (and healthy!!) I am severely anemic (which is how we found out that I had Celiac Disease) and need to take iron supplements but it gives me horrible liquid diarrhea!!!(TMI???)  I was taking ferrous gluconate as its only 35mg, and supposedly easier on the digestive system, but now the doctor has me taking ferrous sulfate, which is 60mg......time will tell. Anyone else anemic?? What are you supplementing with?? Let's get our poop in a group!!! heehee from Canada.

I had a very rough month after diagnosis. No exaggeration, lost so much inflammatory weight, I looked like a bag of bones, underneath i had been literally starving to death. I did start feeling noticeably better after a month of very strict control of my kitchen and home. What are you eating for breakfast and lunch? I ignored my doc and ate oats, yes they were gluten free, but some brands are at the higher end of gluten free. Lots of celics can eat Bob's Red Mill gluten-free oats, but not me. I can now eat them, but they have to be grown and processed according to the "purity protocol" methods. I mail order them, Montana Gluten-Free brand. A food and symptoms and activities log can be helpful in tracking down issues. You might be totally aware, but I have to mention about the risk of airborne gluten. As the doc that diagnosed me warned . . Remember eyes, ears, nose, and mouth all lead to your stomach and intestines.  Are you getting any cross contamination? Airborne gluten? Any pets eating gluten (they eat it, lick themselves, you pet them...)? Any house remodeling? We live in an older home, always fixing something. I've gotten glutened from the dust from cutting into plaster walls, possibly also plywood (glues). The suggestions by many here on vitamin supplements also really helped me. I had some lingering allergies and asthma, which are now 99% gone. I was taking Albuterol inhaler every hour just to breathe, but thiamine in form of benfotiamine kicked that down to 1-2 times a day within a few days of starting it. Also, since cutting out inflammatory seed oils (canola, sunflower, grapeseed, etc) and cooking with real olive oil, avocado oil, ghee, and coconut oil, I have noticed even greater improvement overall and haven't used the inhaler in months! It takes time to weed out everything in your life that contains gluten, and it takes awhile to heal and rebuild your health. At first it's mentally exhausting, overwhelming, even obsessive, but it gets better and second nature.

Hi,  I care for my seven year old daughter with Celiac. After watching her for months, I have figured out that she has problem with two kinds of fats- animal fat and cooking oils. It basically makes her intestine sore enough that she feels spasms when she is upset. It only happens on days when she has eaten more fat than her usual every day diet. (Her usual diet has chia seeds, flaxseeds, and avocado/ pumpkin seeds for fat and an occasional chicken breast.) I stopped using cooking oils last year, and when I reintroduced eggs and dairy, both of which I had held off for a few months thinking it was an issue of the protein like some Celiac patients habe mentioned to be the case, she has reacted in the same fashion as she does with excess fats. So now I wonder if her reaction to dairy and eggs is not really because of protein but fat.   I don't really have a question, just wondering if anyone finds this familiar and if it gets better with time.  Thank you.

Hello, My name is Chanda and you are not the only one that gose through the same things. I have found that what's easiest for me is finding a few meals each week that last. I have such severe reactions to gluten that it shuts my entire body down. I struggle everyday with i can't eat enough it feels like, when I eat more I lose more weight. Make sure that you look at medication, vitamins and shampoo and conditioner also. They have different things that are less expensive at Walmart.

Thank you so much! I saw some tips around the forum to make a food diary and now that I know that the community also struggles with corn, egg and soy, the puzzle pieces came together! Just yesterday I tried eating eggs and yes, he’s guilty and charged. Those there are my 3 combo nausea troublemakers. I’m going to adjust my diet ☺️ Also thank you for the information about MCAS! I’m from South America and little it’s talked about it in here. It’s honestly such a game changer now for treatment and recovery. I know I’m free from SIBO and Candida since I’ve been tested for it, but I’m still going to make a endoscopy to test for H. Pylori and Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Thank you again!! Have a blessed weekend 🤍

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.
