Okay, so I just got back from the store expecting to buy my first box of Trix cereal since going gluten-free and I am going down the list reading the ingredients and BAM.....I see wheat starch?

I dont get it, I thought that it was on Clan Thompson's mini list?

I did just buy my first box of fruity pebbles though....they were good but i wanted trix <_<

Anyone else have this problem

Mini--I've never seen Trix on any gluten-free lists. Of course, I could have missed something

The Clan Thompson mini list was apparently just a "sample" and is full of innacuracies. I've seen a few notices about the Clan Thompson mini list about things being incorrectly listed either as gluten-free when they are not, or not gluten-free when they actually are. You have to buy the Clan Thompson list to get the most accurate info.

There is GLUTEN FREE TRIX as reported by a few ppl onthis forum, but so far it has only been found in the small mini boxes, and not in the full sized boxes.

The rumor out of Generl Mills is they are CHANGING the trix forumla, just like they just changed cocoa puffs to be gluten free. I personlay have eaten gluten free cocoa puffs, but have not seen the trix yet.

I looked at the Trix at the grocery store last night and we very nearly missed the wheat starch in the very bottom of the ingredients. I can't wait for a gluten-free version, my daughter will be sooooo happy.

I have not seen the gluten-free Trix any where yet. Even in the mini boxes.

I purchased a box of Trix not containing Wheat last weekend at my grocery store. I was excited just to have sweet cereal.

I guess I will just have to wait for mine to be gluten-free

I too have located the gluten-free Trix - ShopRite on Route 9 in Morganville, NJ. It's a 17 oz. box with a promo for Great Adventure on the front. The ingredients panel has a 2006 copyright date.

I cant believe I forgot to look today when I was in Kroger!!! UGH. Might have to drive down there tommorow!

The lst time I looked the boxes on the shelf were dated OCT2006 and still had wheat starch in the ingredients. That was few days ago.

I found some Lucky Charms that were safe in the big box. The smaller box said wheat starch. Does anyone eat Lucky Charms? They were ok for my dd.

Guest nini

I thought Lucky Charms had oats in them... am I wrong?

ok - This is bizzarre, I don't like kids cereal. I had a dream last night that I found a mini box of Trix in a friends kitchen that was gluten free, and was hiding from them in their apartment trying to eat the trix before they found me and realized I was eating thier cereal. Can it get weirder?

I blame this thread.

Nope your 100% correct. They are an oat based cearel, its the first ingredient in them.

okay, so today at church I read a box of Trix and didn't see Wheat starch in them, but hubby has a box at home that does have wheat starch in them, did I miss the wheat starch in the one at church? are there some gluten free trix?

I called the children's minister and she is going to re-read them for the 50th time to see for sure, but we read and re-read, and then read them again today and even read them out loud to another person and nobody heard any gluten ingredients.

I am so confused, I got so excited gluten free trix, and then I get home and

I keep looking for a box of Trix without the wheat starch and have yet to find any. Has anyone had any luck?

I just bought a few boxes of gluten-free Trix today since they were on sale at my local grocery store for $2 a box!! anyway, the copyright just says 2006 and they expire Jan 13, 2007. This is the first time I've found them and I've been looking for a long time. This is a new box with a DVD Game included and shown through on the front of the box. It's a DVD trivia game called "Scene It?". I re-read the ingredients multiple times and there is NO wheat starch listed. I haven't fed it to my kids yet though.

Just wanted to pass that along!

wow. thanks, I am going to re-read the box at church again, but my friend was up there a few hours ago and re-read it and still says she doesn't see wheat starch. I wonder how many times I will read the box before I believe it LOL

I couldn't care less about the Trix or Fruity Pebbles (even though I'm glad there are some mainstream cereals I can eat).... I miss my Cinnamon Life! I loved that stuff. I salivate looking at a box of it or thinking about it. It's torture.

I found a box today in MN!! The copy right on the box says 2006 and the exp date is jan. I read it 5 times in the store and I made my husband read it several times. I just had to look at it again! lol But it really does exist!

taweavmo3 Enthusiast

I have found gluten free boxes of Trix...but it's very hit and miss and they are mixed in with the older formula boxes, so I just have to sift through them. It's easier now that I know where the wheat starch is listed on the ingredient list, it's always near the bottom. Hope everyone can find them soon! It's really nice to have some mainstream cereal again, especially since Malt O Meal cereals are all off limits now.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!
