I have a minor gripe.......

I bought ground chicken breast at Wild Oats this weekend and promptly froze it. Bad enough it was from a rocky chicken, not a rosie chicken.....I just bought it to see if the children like it better than the ground turkey.....I certainly don't plan on buying it often.

Anyway, you know how they usually wrap the meat in wax paper, they put it in a plastic bag and now I've got to somewhat thaw the thing to get the bag out of the crevices. I'm not a happy camper about this....I may have to cook up something else for dinner.

Jestgar,

You crack me up! Stick around, ok? :)

Andrea--

You might have to just refrigerate the chicken overnight and make something else. Getting the bag out of the ground meat is tough--you pull on it and it just stretches until it breaks

Rachel--

Don't dampen your enthusiasm--post anything that you feel you want to share. I just pick out what pertains to me and don't worry about the rest. I figure it'll resonate with someone :D

Cause you never know what is going to strike a chord. ;)

I just want to get back to normal

I second Rachel....how can you not post when you read something like that from our favorite Miss M? :)

I'm cooking the chicken.

I also want it back to normal.

Obviously stuff that's been posted has had an attraction because so many visitors have been here. Maybe they are looking for people that have been helped by various treatments.

Laura, It's always good to see you too.......you've been missed.

jerseyangel Proficient

Laura,

Don't worry, we all understand! You're having to deal with so much--your job and treatments and all. Just know that you're in my thoughts and I always look forward to getting an update when you feel up to it. :)

Did I read that you did your solo?

Donna....when are you doing your solo? I know you sang in front of the choir guy and that seemed to go really well. So now are you ready to "wow" everyone?? :D

Well, just in practice, and just in front of the choir director, who has, oddly enough, never heard me sing alone before. I had some people praying for me, and it worked because I wasn't nearly as nervous as I was when I did just in our little group. I do the solo for real on August 5 (whatever that Sunday is).

Ha, I'll do something alright...not sure WOW is what I'll do to them. :P:lol:

EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD IS PRETENTIOUS AND OBNOXIOUS AND PRETENDS TO KNOW MORE THAN THEY REALLY DO. YOU-ALL BLATHER ON ENDLESSLY ABOUT SILLY UNPROVEN TREATMENTS THAT WILL NEVER WORK AND JUST WASTE TIME AND MONEY. GROW THE F*** UP!!!

There, now you can all yell at me and stop sniping at each other because I think all of you need the collective knowledge that's been accumulating on this thread.

OMGOSH!!!!! Something told me that had to be a joke, but still, I held my breath through that whole first paragraph!

but when random people start attacking PATTI for no reason----then I know that something has gone horribly wrong! I definitely don't understand, but it makes me tired!

Wow, okay, that is just so wrong! I've never read an unkind word from Patti...even when she's doing her moderator thing, she is always respectful and sweet!

I DO KNOW that each and every one of you have welcomed other posters to join, but the appearance does appeal somewhat inclusive. I am certain that this was not an attempt to appear that way but other may see it differently.

While this is in the evaluation process, I thought I would post my arm chair thoughts and this is directed at no one.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to make this less so. It's like any other "group" that's been together a while...you just know each other. I recently went to a flea market with my very good friend. She invited one of HER other very good friends who I'd actually only met once--never spent any time at all with her before that. For a little while I felt slightly left out because they have a long history...but oddly enough eventually OUR history came through too. The three of us ended up having a great time.

I didn't know anyone when I joined this thread, and I was welcomed and was just assimilated, lol (kind of like the BORG of Startrek fame, lol). I wish I knew how to project that to everyone who reads this thread.

I would like to say that I am not a frequent poster on OMG, but I do read and I do learn. I am totally amazed at the information that you, all of you, offer for the common good. I admire all of you for your research and you time and dedication to offer this to others on this site. A pat on the back for all.

I most likely would have not much to offer that has not been covered. I visit to learn. I, though, could see why other may be hesitant to join in. Without personal offense, I call this the "Walton Thread" (to myself). Meaning...."hello JohnBoy, hello MaryEllen, hello Ben, hello Jason."

I weigh 85 pounds people 85 POUNDS! I am on a strickter diet now. just squash and meat till I add one thing at a time. SOmething isn't doing right with me. THey want to put me in the hospital with IV's. My doctor said that my organs are eating themselves up. I eat but always get diarrhea.

I don't know if it is the whey protein I smell since I am ssooo sensitive. This is ridiculuous. How can someone live this way. Everyone I am scared. :( I don't know what too do no more but the doctor says if I keep losing weight I will die. She says it is mercury but something else maybe too?

Egads Lisa! I don't know what to say. :(

Is your appointment with Dr. S at the end of the week? I'm pretty sure he'll probably want you to see Anna.......the one Rachel and Donna have seen. She's the best there is for BioSET it sounds like.

Rachel and Carla, good to see you back. Jestar, you crack me up!! Susie, OMG, I went trad climbing for the first time this year in Rocky National Park yesterday, and I was scared sh*tless, 250' up of crack climbing!! Needless to say, I lived to tell about it.

Hi Lisa,

Hang in there girl! You've got the will to live and heal, and I know you will! I'm sending out a big (((((hug))))) your way. Really, I just wish I could be there and hold you. Sounds like you have gotten some good tips on doctors and dentists from Rachel.

I'll post on my LED experience later. I'd like to say that I have been feeling really good since my first treatment. Coincidence or not? Related to the beginning of my amalgam removals? A shift in the planets  ?

Ok, can we just get back to the scienticness already :lol: !

Hello everyone.

Reading the posts on here recently made me cry a little bit. not out of sadness, but out of inspiration.

I love it when we all support one another. It restores my faith in the true goodness of people.

Life is too short for arguing, there is enough conflict going on in the world around us.

I am grateful to learn from all you and I want to take part by listening and offering my support in a caring non judgmental way.

I believe in eveyone's abilities to take care of themselves, as we are all incredibly strong.

I can feel vulnerable and fearful sometimes, and you guys really do make me feel better, knowing you are here and that you understand.

Lisa....I'm so sad for you. I wish I could do more. :(

I think you need help like right now. I know you said you werent gonna see Dr. S. on Friday and I think even if you did see him at this point he wouldnt know what to do except to run all the tests to try to find out what you're dealing with.

I think you do need some immediate help because of the weight situation. I dont think its a bad idea to be hosptilized because of the amount of weight you've lost.

I'm sure you must have infections along with the mercury so maybe it would be helpful to identify and treat some of the infections?? I dont know but just guessing that it could help. Do you know what your Dr. tested you for? I guess you never were able to do the stool test for parasites and those things?

I was also wondering if you've tried wearing a mask around things that bother you.....like in your brothers room...could you wear a mask and possible not react so badly? I sometimes wear one of those painters masks when I'm doing cleaning/dusting around the house.

I'll be praying for you.....call me if you need to talk.

In the study linked above, the little girl switched to a gluten free diet and gained enough weight that that fat pad was replenished and surgery was not needed.   Here's the full article link... Hello, @Jordan Carlson, So glad you're feeling better.   Tecta is a proton pump inhibitor.  PPI's also interfere with the production of the intrinsic factor needed to absorb Vitamin B12.  Increasing the amount of B12 you supplement has helped overcome the lack of intrinsic factor needed to absorb B12. Proton pump inhibitors also reduce the production of digestive juices (stomach acids).  This results in foods not being digested thoroughly.  If foods are not digested sufficiently, the vitamins and other nutrients aren't released from the food, and the body cannot absorb them.  This sets up a vicious cycle. Acid reflux and Gerd are actually symptoms of producing too little stomach acid.  Insufficient stomach acid production is seen with Thiamine and Niacin deficiencies.  PPI's like Tecta also block the transporters that pull Thiamine into cells, preventing absorption of thiamine.  Other symptoms of Thiamine deficiency are difficulty swallowing, gagging, problems with food texture, dysphagia. Other symptoms of Thiamine deficiency are symptoms of ADHD and anxiety.  Vyvanse also blocks thiamine transporters contributing further to Thiamine deficiency.  Pristiq has been shown to work better if thiamine is supplemented at the same time because thiamine is needed to make serotonin.  Doctors don't recognize anxiety and depression and adult onset ADHD as early symptoms of Thiamine deficiency. Stomach acid is needed to digest Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in fruits and vegetables.  Ascorbic acid left undigested can cause intestinal upsets, anxiety, and heart palpitations.   Yes, a child can be born with nutritional deficiencies if the parents were deficient.  Parents who are thiamine deficient have offspring with fewer thiamine transporters on cell surfaces, making thiamine deficiency easier to develop in the children.  A person can struggle along for years with subclinical vitamin deficiencies.  Been here, done this.  Please consider supplementing with Thiamine in the form TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) which helps immensely with dysphagia and neurological symptoms like anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms.  Benfotiamine helps with improving intestinal health.  A B Complex and NeuroMag (a magnesium supplement), and Vitamin D are needed also.
    • knitty kitty
@pothosqueen, Welcome to the tribe! You'll want to get checked for nutritional deficiencies and start on supplementation of B vitamins, especially Thiamine Vitamin B 1.   There's some scientific evidence that the fat pad that buffers the aorta which disappears in SMA is caused by deficiency in Thiamine.   In Thiamine deficiency, the body burns its stored fat as a source of fuel.  That fat pad between the aorta and digestive system gets used as fuel, too. Ask for an Erythrocyte Transketolace Activity test to look for thiamine deficiency.  Correction of thiamine deficiency can help restore that fat pad.   Best wishes for your recovery!   Interesting Reading: Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome in a 6-Year-Old Girl with Final Diagnosis of Celiac Disease https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31089433/#:~:text=Affiliations,tissue and results in SMAS.
    • trents
Wow! You're pretty young to have a diagnosis of SMA syndrome. But youth also has its advantages when it comes to healing, without a doubt. You might be surprised to find out how your health improves and how much better you feel once you eliminate gluten from your diet. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that, when gluten is consumed, triggers an attack on the villous lining of the small bowel. This is the section of the intestines where all our nutrition is absorbed. It is made up of billions of tiny finger-like projections that create a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients. For the person with celiac disease, unchecked gluten consumption generates inflammation that wears down these fingers and, over time, greatly reduces the nutrient absorbing efficiency of the small bowel lining. This can generate a whole host of other nutrient deficiency related medical problems. We also now know that the autoimmune reaction to gluten is not necessarily limited to the lining of the small bowel such that celiac disease can damage other body systems and organs such as the liver and the joints and cause neurological problems.  It can take around two years for the villous lining to completely heal but most people start feeling better well before then. It's also important to realize that celiac disease can cause intolerance to some other foods whose protein structures are similar to gluten. Chief among them are dairy and oats but also eggs, corn and soy. Just keep that in mind.
