???who are the pilots???

Mitch has been waiting for that question Molly.

Molly,

Yes you are correct the Giants are playing the Dodgers...hope the Giants win...that's my favorite NL West team. BTW, the Pilots were the first Major League team in Seattle in 1969. They only lasted one year before moving to Milwaukee and becomeing the Brewers in 1970. But the Pilots did play the Giants during spring training of 1969 and 1970, if you would like further statistics let me know. Of course, that's when the Giants had names like Mays, McCovey, and Marichal. GO GIANTS!!! I enjoy hearing the broadcast voice of John Miller.

I'll be sure the game and the jumping competitions are both on the calendar ... man ... I'm so dizzy I'm having trouble typing!

Carla--Dizziness is most definately a TMJ disfunction symptom. It was one of my main ones--and the ENT who diagnosed me said I was a "classic case".

Since yours is now exagerated somewhat by the device you are wearing, it makes sense that your dizziness is getting worse.

I would lay down for a while, and see if that helps.

Thanks. I never had dizziness before from it, but it sure makes sense that messing with this joint now could be causing it. I was worried that it was yet another health issue! I'm sitting here in a comfy chair ... thank goodness for laptops with wireless internet!!!

I use a night guard, and have left it at that.

My sister went the same route as you are--she had to have teeth pulled, wore the appliance, and then the braces. She had a lot of dizziness as well. It's all connected. It will lessen as time goes on :)

The night guard wasn't enough for me :( My ortho is not a believer in pulling teeth, which is why I have this appliance, to help spread my jaw so there's more room for my teeth; it also is forcing my facial muscles to hold my jaw in the right place. So, I guess with all the inflammation I probably have with these sore muscles, it must be messing with my inner ear.

I JUST got caught up with the posts (messages in my email, do you guys do that?? Man! That is a lot of emails!).

Dizziness is totally normal for new dental appliances (along with fatigue, headaches, migranes, etc) because all of those things are affected by brain related muscles. And your jaw is right there!! Do you get headaches after going to the dentist?? I do...I have to be careful, or I will get a migrane from getting my teeth cleaned!

Yay, glad you started this thread Rachel

Now we can gab and be goofy without having to add in a little scientificness

Yes, will The Dave be joining us in the "ville" sans science??

Welcome Molly :)

Carla, that makes my mouth hurt thinking about it. I had braces, twice, and head gears, mouth guards and retainers. Total pain. Hope your pain and dizziness goes away as you get straightened out :)

Wow it was great that this forum was started. I left for a couple days and when I came back I was behind 20 pages on the OMG forum and then Mom told me the conversation was moved to the face thread. There were 8 pages on that thread that I was behind on, and I felt funny reading along that thread since it was about things that don't apply to me. After reading one of those pages, which I quite enjoyed reading I might add, I found this forum. I'm caught up on this one and hopefully it will stay that way :blink:

Since I didn't read the entire OMG forum, I'm confused  Where'd the purple glittery bats come from? I like them, but I don't know how they originated

Thanks. I got a new dental appliance, the next step in taking care of my TMJ and the last step before braces.

I even feel sorry for you....quite a bit actually. That thing can hardly fit in your mouth  At least it's pink and glittery :D

Oh, darn! I picked out the color and everything! I could have gotten purpley glittery then hung out with the bats!!!

AndreaB Contributor

The purple glittery bats help with cross-pollenating the food stuff in the garden by flapping their wings.

They are that color because Susie is not real fond of bats and doesn't want them in her hair and I think Chelsea wanted them made them that color so they would be obvious. They are trained to stay away from Susie.

Mitch comment: In actuality, they were imported by Meredith when she discovered it was a result of a special mating season between the red bats and the blue bats. During transport on the high seas the high humidity caused such a stickiness on their bodies. Also, the glittering waters of the pristine ocean near R-ville paradise clung to them, therefore, the bats retained the glitter.

If Celia pull the Ostrich avatar, how is anyone going to know what I look like. I don't have any other photo of me and besides have not figured how to put it on here, even if I did. Her Avatar is the nearest to my looks as any that have been here. I am skinny like the bird, gray hair, real short gray hair, and when I am playful, I can spike it like the bird. My beak is not as pronounced as this bird, but all in all, I am the bird. Of course I wear red lipstick.

Looking good Molly! Did you get a haircut? I love it!

I'm just passing through Rachelville, I didn't see anything about Moms of gluten-free boys being allowed.

Also, what is Auxigro?

You're allowed, you just have to go through decontamination if you'ver been eating gluten.

A little scientificness to explain....please pardon the break.

Auxigro is something sprayed and conventional and organic crops that is 30% msg. Some people are extremely sensitive and find that they can't eat a lot of produce.

Debmidge....I can't create a job if I don't know your interests/skills. Name would be nice unless you don't want to share (please forgive me if it's in your sig....I will go look).

2boys4me....same thing if you would like a job.

Hi Jmartes, It sure is difficult to get useful advice from medical providers. Almost 20 years  ago a Dr suggested that I might have Celiacs and I took a Celiac Panel blood test. No gluten challenge diet. On that test the tTG was in normal range but an alpha antibody was very high. I went online and read about celiac disease and saw how I could investigate this low tTG and still have celiac disease. Normal tTG can happen when a person had been reacting for many years. Another way is that the person has not been eating enough gluten to raise the antibody level. Another reason is that the tTG does not show up on a blood but may show up on a fecal test. Almost all Celiacs inherit at least one of the 2 main Celiac genes. I had genetic tests for the Celiac genes at Enterolab.com. I inherited one main Celiac gene from one parent and the report said that the DQ gene I inherited from my other parent, DQ6, could cause a person to have more problems or symptoms with that combination. One of my grandmother's had fairly typical symptoms of Celiacs but the other grandmother had severe food intolerances. I seem to show some problems inherited from both grandmothers. Human physiology is very complex and researchers are just beginning to understand how different body systems interact.  If you have taken an autosomal DNA test you can download your raw data file and upload it to Prometheuw.com for a small fee and search for Celiac Disease. If you don't find any Cekiac genes or information about Celiac disease  you may not have autoimmune gluten intolerance because more than 99% of Celiacs have one or both of these genes.  PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU WANT TO KNOW EHAT i HAVE DONE TO HELP WITH SYMPTOMS.

I can't prove it, but I truly believe I have been glutened by airborne particles. I used to take care of shelter cats once per week at a pet store, and no matter how careful I was, I would get glutened each time even if I wore a mask and gloves and washed up well after I was done. I believe the problem was that because I'm short, I couldn't do the the tasks without getting my head and shoulders inside their cages, and so the particles from their food would be all over my hair and top of my shirt. Then I had to drive home, so even if I didn't get glutened right then, the particles would be in my car just waiting for me to get in the car so they could get blown into my face again. I gave up that volunteer gig and stopped getting glutened so often and at such regular intervals.

Hello, @MogwaiStripe, Vitamin D is turned into its activated forms by Thiamine.  Thiamine deficiency can affect Vitamin D activation. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14913223/ Thiamine deficiency affects HLA genes.  HLA genes code for autoimmune diseases like Celiac, Thyroiditis, Diabetes, etc.  Thiamine deficiency inside a cell triggers a toggle switch on the gene which in turn activates autoimmune diseases carried on the gene.  The reference to the study is in my blog somewhere.  Click on my name to go to my page, scroll down to the drop down menu "Activities" and click on blogs.

Hello, @annamarie6655, Yes, there's many of us who react to airborne gluten!   Yes, animal feed, whether for chickens or cats or dogs, can release airborne gluten.  I can get glutened from the bakery section at the grocery store.   The nose and mouth drain into the digestive system and can trigger systemic reactions.   I find the histamine release in response to airborne gluten will stuff up my sinuses and bother my eyes.  High histamine levels do cause anxiety and migraines.  The muscle spasms can be caused by high histamine, too.  The digestive system may not manifest symptoms without a higher level of gluten exposure.   Our bodies make an enzyme, DAO (diamine oxidase), to break down histamine.   Pyridoxine B 6, Cobalamine B12, Vitamin C, copper, zinc, and iron are needed to make DAO.  DAO supplements are available over the counter.  Taking a B Complex supplement and additional Thiamine in the form Benfotiamine or TTFD (tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide) helps reduce the amount of histamine being released.  Mast cells without sufficient Thiamine have an itchy trigger finger and release histamine at the slightest provocation.  Thiamine helps mast cells refrain from releasing their histamine.    I find taking additional TTFD thiamine helps immensely with neurological symptoms as TTFD can easily cross the blood brain barrier without a carrier.  High histamine in the brain can cause the muscle spasms, anxiety and migraines.  Vitamin C really helps with clearing histamine, too.   The Digiorno pizza mystery reaction could have been caused by a reaction to the cheese.  Some people develop lactose intolerance.  Others react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as if to gluten because Casein resembles the molecular structure of gluten.  An enzyme used in some dairy products, microbial transglutaminase, causes a gluten reaction because it is the same as the tissue transglutaminase our bodies make except microbes make it.  Those tTg IgA blood tests to diagnose celiac disease measure tissue transglutaminase our bodies release as part of the autoimmune response to gluten.   You're doing great!  A Sherlock Holmes award to you for figuring out the connection between airborne gluten and animal feed!!!
