Will check in later--the closet organizing lady will be here any minute.

GAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!....PATTI!!!!!!

(I just go to Ikea for inspiration)

I WANT ONE !!!!:lol::lol: ..........(your hubby has more clothes than you??? )

With those of us here who are TARTS

I don't know what you mean ;)

PS Had SERIOUS Food Gasm at Risoterria last week. Was almost asked to leave- kind of like that scene in When Harry Met sally.

It went something like...

''Would you mind leaving Miss - there are children in here...and frankly everyone is disturbed by your behaviour''

:lol::lol::lol:

I think I should bring the closet lady a sandwich or something--what the heck is she still doing in there? :o

A few years ago I got California Closets to come do my dad's bedroom closet. I went over to his house the day the consultant was coming and the lady was in there measuring and planning for almost 2 hours! It was supper time and we didn't know what to do about her. So my dad ending up making supper for her and the three of us ate spaghetti (pre-Celiac days!) and drank wine on my dad's closet floor. It was pretty funny. She took her job very seriously!

My dad's closet looked about twice as big after they performed their closet magic. I'm very jealous it and I wish my closet looked like that. I'm sure you'll be in awe of the finished product. I think closet organizer would be a fun job to have.

She's probably found some fabulous 'retro' jacket of your hubby's (aka -'packrat') and is wondering if she could sneak it out to sell on Ebay.......

Does she charge by the hour, or by the job? I'm thinkin' we could use her in our parade organization...Y'know, placing all the paraphrenalia within the floats, organizing and loading the guns with appropriate treats in the proper order...the most economical use of space can haunt parade organizers. You should ask her if she's ever tackled a job like this, Patti. She may jump at it...:lol:

Hi Alex! :)

Ridgewalker Contributor

Oh gawwwd... I think my chronic sinus infections back... ugh, head may explode at any moment...

A few minutes ago, I clicked View New Posts (as I do an embarassingly large number of times per day) and suddenly the whole format of the board changed, and it was all green. I clicked it again, and back to normal.

I think Scott needs to give us some warning if he's gonna work on how the board looks, because that just totally messed with my poor feeble brain.

Ridgewalker Contributor

It came back!!!!!!!!!

Now it's gone again.

First of all, you are so sweet...I can just see you bringing the closet lady a sandwich.

Your timing is EXCELLENT Patti as I have a birthday card poem I've been meaning to post for awhile from my BIL. Unfortunately, I suspect our Hugh is a TARTAHOLIC with little tolerance for the fartaholics :P but you never know.....maybe he's into that stuff :o:P

Anyhoo...here's the poem:

All About Farts

A fart can be short,

or a fart can be long,

Some farts have been known

to sound just like a song...

A fart can create

a most curious medley,

A fart can be harmless

or silent, but deadly.

A fart might not smell

while others are vile

A fart may pass quickly

or linger awhile.

A fart can occur

in a number of places,

and leave everyone

with strange looks on their faces...

From wide-open prairie,

to small elevators

But not all farts are bad,

that is simply not true-

We musn't forget...

Dear sweet old farts like YOU!

First real good chilly day here!!

I'm freezing my arse off . . . I just can't seem to warm up!

JoDog (what I call my dog) is annoying with constant whining - oh wait, that's me.

JoDog is annoying with pacing back and forth between the window and door on the constant look out for squirrels.

I need to go to the grocery and to Target but can't get my rear in gear!!

And this has been my day!!

Oh Richard!!! I've been wondering where you've been. You pop in briefly to read but not to post. I thought people at work must have noticed you mumbling and giggling at your computer and you had to cut back in order to avoid a talk with Human Resources.

We are quite familiar with teh pacing and staring here. In fact, in Stinker's second book (On the Road with Stinker), the "about the author" page does state, explaining her life and hobbies in the three years it took for her long-awaited followup book....... "in addition, she likes to pace and stare."

Wow!! Stinker is an author!! Might she personally autograph one of her books for me? THAT'S what you should be selling on ebay . . . autographed copies of her book! I am convinced that to get rich quick, write a book and then have Oprah mention it on her show! Not sure how you get her to do that, but everybody buys whatever she tells them to.

Yes, our Stinker IS an author. When she was about 6, I was presented, by her nanny and best friend, Lauren, with her first book, the smash Tika's Day Out. [i literally laughed so hard that I cried whilst reading it - and also cried because it was the best give I'd ever received......and we HAVE actually been urged to publish it...........it's the cutest thing EVER]

Yes, we MUST get Stinker on Oprah and toute suite!!!!!!! she's getting quite old and senile.....no telling WHAT she'll say on the air.......

Yes.  I have had the tmj condition for 40 years. My only help was strictly following celiac and also eliminating soy.  Numerous dental visits and several professionally made bite plates  did very little to help with symptoms
    • trents
Cristiana makes a good point and it's something I've pointed out at different times on the forum. Not all of our ailments as those with celiac disease are necessarily tied to it. Sometimes we need to look outside the celiac box and remember we are mortal humans just like those without celiac disease.

Also suffer badly with gluten and TMJD, cutting out gluten has been a game changer, seems to be micro amounts, much less than 20ppm.  Anyone else have issues with other food stuffs? Soy (tofu) and/or milk maybe causing TMJD flare-ups, any suggestions or ideas? --- I'm beginning to think it maybe crops that are grown or cured with glyphosphate. Oats, wheat, barley, soy, lentils, peas, chickpeas, rice, and buckwheat, almonds, apples, cherries, apricots, grapes, avocados, spinach, and pistachios.

Hi @Scatterbrain Thank you for your reply.   Some of these things could be weaknesses, also triggered by stress, which perhaps have come about as the result of long-term deficiencies which can take a long time to correct.   Some could be completely unrelated. If it is of help, I'll tell you some of the things that started in the first year or two, following my diagnosis - I pinned everything on coeliac disease, but it turns out I wasn't always right!  Dizziness, lightheaded - I was eventually diagnosed with cervical dizziness (worth googling, could be your issue too, also if you have neck pain?)  A few months after diagnosis I put my neck out slightly carrying my seven-year-old above my head, and never assigned any relevance to it as the pain at the time was severe but so short-lived that I'd forgotten the connection. Jaw pain - stress. Tinnitus - I think stress, but perhaps exacerbated by iron/vitamin deficiencies. Painful ribs and sacroiliac joints - no idea, bloating made the pain worse. It got really bad but then got better. Irregular heart rate - could be a coincidence but my sister (not a coeliac) and I both developed this temporarily after our second Astra Zeneca covid jabs.   Subsequent Pfizer jabs didn't affect us. Brain fog - a big thing for people with certain autoimmune issues but in my case I think possibly worse when my iron or B12 are low, but I have no proof of this. Insomnia - stress, menopause. So basically, it isn't always gluten.  It might be worth having your vitamins and mineral levels checked, and if you have deficiencies speak to your Dr about how better to address them?

@NanceK, I do have Hypersensitivity Type Four reaction to Sulfa drugs, a sulfa allergy.  Benfotiamine and other forms of Thiamine do not bother me at all.  There's sulfur in all kinds of Thiamine, yet our bodies must have it as an essential nutrient to make life sustaining enzymes.  The sulfur in thiamine is in a ring which does not trigger sulfa allergy like sulfites in a chain found in pharmaceuticals.  Doctors are not given sufficient education in nutrition (nor chemistry in this case).  I studied Nutrition before earning a degree in Microbiology.  I wanted to know what vitamins were doing inside the body.   Thiamine is safe and nontoxic even in high doses.   Not feeling well after starting Benfotiamine is normal.  It's called the "thiamine paradox" and is equivalent to an engine backfiring if it's not been cranked up for a while.  Mine went away in about three days.  I took a B Complex, magnesium and added molybdenum for a few weeks. It's important to add a B Complex with all eight essential B vitamins. Supplementing just one B vitamin can cause lows in some of the others and result in feeling worse, too.  Celiac Disease causes malabsorption of all the B vitamins, not just thiamine.  You need all eight.  Thiamine forms including Benfotiamine interact with each of the other B vitamins in some way.  It's important to add a magnesium glycinate or chelate supplement as well.  Forms of Thiamine including Benfotiamine need magnesium to make those life sustaining enzymes.  (Don't use magnesium oxide.  It's not absorbed well.  It pulls water into the intestines and is used to relieve constipation.)   Molybdenum is a trace mineral that helps the body utilize forms of Thiamine.   Molybdenum supplements are available over the counter.  It's not unusual to be low in molybdenum if low in thiamine.   I do hope you will add the necessary supplements and try Benfotiamine again. Science-y Explanation of Thiamine Paradox: https://hormonesmatter.com/paradoxical-reactions-with-ttfd-the-glutathione-connection/#google_vignette
