Sarah, since he can't wear the wedding ring any longer, you can just buy him a ball and chain ... it's not made of gold and he can wear it over his sock .... it'll match your black shirt.

And I'll go ahead and ask for Tom . . . what were you doing with your tongue at the time? That's what you would have asked, right Tom?

Um....well, could have been tip-sticking-out-like-I'm-opening-a-jar...I'll have to feverishly erase something, and see what my tongue does. Stay tuned...

OMG I"m baaaaaaaaaaaaack........

and I have kahlua!!!!!!!!! ;)

OMG Tom - I JUST saw those homemade-looking marshmallows at Trader Joe's!!!!!!!!! announced to no one in particular  that I am FAMOUS for my homemade marshmallows......everyone was fascinated and watched in rapt attention as I explained that not only are they astonishingly easy to make, but they did not always come in round shapes, in plastic bags.

He still wants to go the party, though, so I'm not off the hook. <_< I realized I probably won't be able to eat much of anything there (remembering from last year.) But there's free wine, so who cares???

 that's the spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but OMG - does your husband have some........flesh-eating strep gangrenous finger? slightly troublesome........

ball and chain!!! yes!

Can't wait to hear about your party.....and what you wore.

Omg rofl the BeDaZzLeR!!!

I think I know someone who has one.......

It was doomed to begin with. A whirlwind romance. He swept her off her feet . . . literally. It was his animal magnetism. And with Jess being a scientist, she just had to experiment with his magnetic field. I'm sure both families were in an uproar what with him having no discernable income and her being - well, hairless - compared to his family.

:o OMG - was Jess cheating on her husband with Yeti? is THAT why she had to put him (the husband) in a vat of acid?

[once again I find myself snorting and chortling at the sentence I just wrote - wondering what some poor hapless newbie might think upon reading it     ]

SusieQ- Are you moving to Ottawa?

<scratching chin>

Why yes, yes, I think so! I'm just going to make the commitment and move. Right away.

EMILY..........oh EMILY......................

HI! my name's Susie and I'm your new sister-in-law (and your biggest nightmare)

:D

ha ha

(good gawd, right, you can't even get me out of my cozy bed when it's cold, not bloody likely you'll see me in Ottawa any time soon)

and BTW - if I met a man whom I liked enough to drive across town FOR (incorrect preposition usage to torture Emily) I'd be (extremely pleasantly) shocked......

OMG tonight I was back reminicing our parade's roots, when it was just taken form and had Carebears and Marshmallows.....so funny!

Then the hot tub party

and all the Amanda/Danny avatars.

Has anyone seen Richard, it says he was last seen in Nov! He has been MIA since my honeymoon to Rochester.

and I have kahlua!!!!!!!!! ;)

Mmmmmm . . . if you have vodka and milk on hand you can make yourself a White Russian. They make an excellent night cap! I used to make one for my grandpa every night before bed when I lived with him.

We have new neighbours and they seem quite nice but the husband keep calling me Lexie -- ugh!! It's a fine name but it's not MY name. I introduced myself Alex, he asked what it was short for and I told him Alexandria and he took it upon himself to rename me Lexie. I don't know why it bugs me so much!! I've been called Ally, Al, even Zandria by a good friend, but Lexie is driving me crazy!!!! Who gives someone they've only know for a few days a nickname? <_<

I must figure out this white russian! they are yummy......

OMG the instant nickname thing....sounds like a Seinfeld episode. It's the craziest thing.....I introduce myself always, always as SUSAN.........inner circle has ALWAYS called me Susie - or something else - but when someone would instantly start calling me SUE........dear gawd it made me insane - and actually I would correct them - SUE is the ONE thing I can't stand!!!!!!!! So I would actually just say - it's Susan or Susie - but NEVER Sue.......

OMG - Lexie - - most nightmarish child of my entire life (the evil daughter of my great love who shall remain nameless but who HAS been mentioned on this forum! )

Well...I never post this late, as I'm usually in jammies, watching news, heading to bed by 10. But, just came back from DD's hockey party (seventeen 13 year-olds, with parents, and thank god...vats of wine), and I'm feeling rather....pensive.

Mentioned this thread to a hockey dad who seems very with it, a little insane and artistic, and someone who I was certain would chuckle and remain enthralled with a mention of the yeti, the magic triangle, parades, Care Bear floats, tea-bagging, etc., etc. Well....I was wrong. He just stared at me.

And eventually, I moved away, into the kitchen where the wine was.

What did Sarah end up wearing tonight?

Susie, I am finding a picture of my brother RIGHT NOW to post. Mmmmm...nope, tomorrow.....*yawn*...

His smoldering blue eyes will make you pick up and move to Ottawa...

G'night, Sillies!

Ohhhh Lexie . . . I mean ALEX!!! You should never admit what pushes your buttons on THIS thread. You'll likely see it over and over again!!!! Look what we've done to poor Sarah and her wardrobe . . . and can you believe she left the house dressed in that?

Not to mention the poor Yeti . . . look what we have put him through . . . he's been shipped all over the country, had to "behave" at a wedding, dressed in seashells, and almost electrocuted!!!

That goes for you, too, Sue . . .

Then you have people like my husband .... we moved here about a year and a half ago .... I've been sick the whole time so only reconnected with a few people (we lived here before) .... I complain about having no friends, and my husband says, "What do you mean? You have lots of friends, then talks about all of you!!!"

TOM!!!!!!!!!!

For god's sake, Man, you are in PUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!! put your silly sidekick DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It really just highlights how much I need new friends who can join me on ventures such as this.

John's meeting work buddies w/ massive alcohol consumption as the primiary goal and they're all perfumey women, oh wait, no, they're cologney men. .. ..whatever.

Tony's still at work. Ken's too married w/ grandchildren, Charles's lawyering patents 'til 8ish, etc etc.

(Wow I got a size=5 on the TOM!!)

Brett.

Careful, he may have an 'accent'.

On the rocks. In some decaf. In a White Russian or Black Russian. Hmmmm I'm out. John would know a dozen more uses for Kahlua.

I do have a bartender site bookmarked somewhere. (Mobile version even - superquick pageloads)

Oops band back!!!! Cya!!!!! :D:lol:

This happened to me as well. What’s weirder is that within a couple hours of taking paxlovid it subsided. I thought maybe I got glutened but after reading your post not so sure.

Hi Tiffany. Thank you for writing your dituation and  circumstancesin such detail and so well writte, too. I particularly noticed what you wrote about brain for and feeling like your brain is swelling and I know from my own experiences that's how it feel and your brain really does swell and you get migraines.    Way back when I was in my 20s I read a book by 2 MD allergist and they described their patient who came in complaining that her brain, inside her cranium, was swelling  and it happened when she smelled a certain chemical she used in her home. She kept coming back and insisting her brain actually swelled in her head. The Drs couldn't explain this problem so they, with her permission, performed an operation where they made a small opening through her cranium, exposed her to the chemical then watched as she brain did swell into the opening. The DRs were amazed but then were able to advise her to avoid chemicals that made her brain swell. I remember that because I occasionally had brain fog then but it was not a serious problem. I also realized that I was becoming more sensitive to chemicals I used in my work in medical laboratories. By my mid forties the brain fog and chemicals forced me to leave my  profession and move to a rural area with little pollution. I did not have migraines. I was told a little later that I had a more porous blood brain barrier than other people. Chemicals in the air would go up into my sinused and leak through the blood brain barrier into my brain. We have 2 arteries  in our neck that carry blood with the nutrients and oxygen into the brain. To remove the fluids and used blood from the brain there are only capillaries and no large veins to carry it away so all those fluids ooze out much more slowly than they came in and since the small capillaries can't take care of extra fluid it results in swelling in the face, especially around the eyes. My blood flow into my brain is different from most other people as I have an arterial ischema, adefectiveartery on one side.   I have to go forward about 20 or more years when I learned that I had glaucoma, an eye problem that causes blindness and more years until I learned I had celiac disease.  The eye Dr described my glaucoma as a very slow loss of vision that I wouldn't  notice until had noticeable loss of sight.  I could have my eye pressure checked regularly or it would be best to have the cataracts removed from both eyes. I kept putting off the surgery then just overnight lost most of the vision in my left eye. I thought at the I had been exposed to some chemical and found out a little later the person who livedbehind me was using some chemicals to build kayaks in a shed behind my house. I did not realize the signifance  of this until I started having appointments with a Dr. in a new building. New buildings give me brain fog, loss of balance and other problems I know about this time I experienced visual disturbances very similar to those experienced by people with migraines. I looked further online and read that people with glaucoma can suffer rapid loss of sight if they have silent migraines (no headache). The remedy for migraines is to identify and avoid the triggers. I already know most of my triggers - aromatic chemicals, some cleaning materials, gasoline and exhaust and mold toxins. I am very careful about using cleaning agents using mostly borax and baking powder. Anything that has any fragrance or smell I avoid. There is one brand of dishwashing detergent that I can use and several brands of  scouring powder. I hope you find some of this helpful and useful. I have not seen any evidence that Celiac Disease is involved with migraines or glaucoma. Please come back if you have questions or if what I wrote doesn't make senseto you. We sometimes haveto learn by experience and finding out why we have some problems. Take care.       The report did not mention migraines.

Hi Jmartes71 That is so much like my story! You probably know where Laytonville is and that's where I was living just before my 60th birthday when the new Dr. suggested I could have Celiacs. I didn't go on a gluten challange diet before having the Celiac panel blood test drawn. The results came back as equivical as one antibody level was very high but another, tissue transaminasewas normal. Itdid show I was  allergic to cows milk and I think hot peppers. I immediately went gluten free but did not go in for an endoscopy. I found an online lab online that would do the test to show if I had a main celiac gene (enterolab.com). The report came back that I had inherited a main celiac gene, DQ8, from one parent and a D!6 from the other parent. That combination is knows to sym[tons of celiac worse than just inheriting one main celiac gene. With my version of celiac disease I was mostly constipated but after going gluten-free I would have diarrhea the few times I was glutened either by cross contamination or eating some food containing gluten. I have stayed gluten-free for almost 20 years now and knew within a few days that it was right for me although my recovery has been slow.   When I go to see a  medical provide and tell them I have celiacs they don't believe me. The same when I tell them that I carry a main celiac gene, the DQ8. It is only when I tell them that I get diarrhea after eating gluten that they realize that I might have celiac disease. Then they will order th Vitamin B12 and D3 that I need to monitor as my B12 levels can go down very fast if I'm not taking enough of it. Medical providers haven't been much help in my recovery. They are not well trained in this problem. I really hope this helps ypu. Take care.
