Syracuse is about a four-hour drive from here, exclusive of delay time at the border.

Take I-90 west to I-290 to I-190 north and cross at Queenston/Lewiston. Then take Hwy 405 to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW). Follow the QEW around the west end of the lake, then take Hwy 403 to Hwy 401 East. Get off at Yonge St, and go south 1.8 miles and turn right at the lights where Pizzaville is. It's the pet store on your left, right after you turn. Free parking on site. ;)

But we're 4-4 1/2 from Syracuse :(<_< <whinephace> (Mark used that as a vantage point, since that's our hometown) You are going to have such a hoot--Em is exactly like she is here--just the loveliest, smartest, phunniest goil! Have yer camera ready.......

Uncle ray has a birthday joke for you!

Always get a Second Opinion

Second Opinion!

The doctor said, 'Joe, the good news is I can cure your headaches. The

bad news is that it will require castration.

You have a very rare condition, which causes your testicles to press

on your spine and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The

only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles.'

Joe was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live

for. He had no choice but to go under the knife. When he left the

hospital, he was without a headache for the first time in 20 years,

but he felt like he was missing an important part of himself. As he

walked down the street, he realized that he felt like a different

person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life.

He saw a men's clothing store and thought, 'That's what I need... A

new

suit.'

He entered the shop and told the salesman, 'I'd like a new suit.'

The elderly tailor eye d him briefly and said, 'Let's see... size 44

long.'

Joe laughed, 'That's right, how did you know?'

'Been in the business 60 years!' the tailor said.

Joe tried on the suit it fit perfectly.

As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the salesman asked, 'How about a

new shirt?'

Joe thought for a moment and then said, 'Sure.'

The salesman eyed Joe and said, 'Let's see, 34 sleeves and 16-1/2

neck.'

Joe was surprised, 'That's right, how did you know?'

'Been in the business 60 years.'

Joe tried on the shirt and it fit perfectly.

Joe walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked, 'How

about some new underwear?'

Joe thought for a moment and said, 'Sure.'

The salesman said, 'Let's see... size 36.

Joe laughed, 'Ah ha! I got you! I've worn a size 34 since I was 18

years

old.'

The salesman shook his head, 'You can't wear a size 34. A size 34

would press your testicles up against the base of your spine and give

you one hell of a headache.'

New suit - $400

New shirt - $36

New underwear - $6

Emily, here is your Chinese horoscope:

Year of the Snake -

In the Chinese zodiac, snake is listed after the dragon, but its place and the significance as the symbol of worship is far behind the dragon's. The snake carries the meanings of malevolence, cattiness and mystery, as well as acumen, divination and the ability to smoke distinguish herbs. In some places, people believe that a snake found in their court can bring sexy delight. In Spring Festival, people like to paste naked snakes onto their doors and windows the paper-cut 'Fu' character (happiness), combined with the snake twisting around a rabbit as a popular pattern indicating youse gonna get a whoopin if you mess wif us wealth.

People born in the year of the snake often have a good temper tantrum, a skill of communicating, and a gracious morality, but they are likely to be jealous and suspicious. They should be cautious about discussion with others(is this for real?), as that might cause them to lose friendship and opportunities. Women under the sign of the snake do well in housework but are irritable. They might gradually enjoy happiness in their old age. (Might? What do you mean might?)

Best match: ox, rooster; avoid: tiger, monkey, pig

And FavoUrite music has no 'late 50s/early 60s Jazz' choice!!!!

Heyyyyyyy!! No Action or Mystery choice for movies????????!! Where's Vertigo go??

Okay, I'm just back on. Right after I posted the driving directions, the internet connection at the store crashed. Again.

I'm at home now, catching up.

Patti's directions were easy to give--a memory dump. To give them from Philly would have taken some investigation, but I drove the mentioned route many, many times between 1976 and 2006. Okay, not the whole thing, only as far east as Thruway exit 44, SE of Rochester. :D

It's the ferry docks that are the challenge. They are kind of out of the way. Oh, wait, here are simple directions: From the docks, walk north six miles on Yonge St.

Oh....I must tell you all about DS's latest news from Nacogdoches. They had to go out in the wilderness for a class assignment.

Picture this.......

It is night.......they have flashlights, hip-waders, and a pole with a rope on the end (like you see being used by animal control to catch stray dogs)

Their mission.......to go into the water to catch alligators! :o

They must wade in, shining their flashlights around to catch the glow of their eyes.........alligators eyes glow red........then put the rope around it's neck and HANG ON TIGHT!!!!!.....careful you don't snag one that is too big......they found a 10 ft one........best to leave that one alone!

This should give a mother a panic attack for sure, but for some reason......I'm OK with this. I guess I've heard enough of his wilderness stories that it's just another day in the life of DS. :P

POeter! What were you doin' going back and forth, T.O. to Rochester, for 30 years? Do you have family down there?

It's the ferry docks that are the challenge. They are kind of out of the way. Oh, wait, here are simple directions: From the docks, walk north six miles on Yonge St.

Will do! Quite the thruway, Yonge Street is.....it eventually becomes the Trans-Canada Highway, does it not?

Spongepants! What a superb idea! For those who have been glutened - - to hell with the pads or sanitary stick-em liners for accidents..... . . mere child's play for some. Pants made entirely of sponge . .. ..fantastic! Although they'd be fairly stiff when dry - - difficult to bend yer legs and such. . .. . <_<

Scorpio, but year of the dragon.

Gahhh! Methinks this is quite a serious, portentious combination. Must ask my Asian student......perhaps you are destined for Sainthood, Jess. . ....

;)

Very lovely birthday dinner this evening. Every dinner I have with both parents there is more and more special each year.

We were having our coffee when my dad suddenly said, "After they make styrofoam, what do they ship it in?"....... ..

You state in post #5 that you don't have celiac disease. Here in this post you state you will "be doing another test". What will this test be looking for? What kind of celiac disease testing have you had done? If you have used a Entero Labs it sounds like you have had stool testing done for celiac disease which is not widely accepted as a valid celiac disease diagnostic testing method. Have you had blood antibody testing for celiac disease done and do you realize that for antibody testing to be valid you must have been eating generous amounts of gluten for a period of weeks/months?
    • Gigi2025
No, I've not been diagnosed as celiac.  Despite Entero Labs being relocated to Switzerland/Greece, I'll be doing another test. After eating wheat products in Greece for 4 weeks, there wasn't any reaction.  However, avoiding it here in the states.   Thanks everyone for your responses.
    • Rejoicephd
Thank you @JulieRe so much for sharing this extra information. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better and I hope it keeps moving in that direction. I feel I'm having so many lightbulb moments on this forum just interacting with others who have this condition. I also was diagnosed with gastric reflux maybe about 10 years ago. I was prescribed ranitidine for it several years back, which was working to reduce my gastric reflux symptoms but then the FDA took ranitidine off the shelves so I stopped taking it. I had a lot of ups and downs healthwise in and around that time (I suddenly gained 20 pounds, blood pressure went up, depression got worse, and I was diagnosed with OSA). At the time I attributed my change in symptoms to me taking on a new stressful job and didn't think much else about it. They did give me a replacement gastric reflux drug since ranitidine was off the shelves, but when I went on the CPAP for my OSA, the CPAP seemed to correct the gastric reflux problem so I haven't been on any gastric reflux drug treatment for years although I still do have to use a CPAP for my OSA. Anyway that's a long story but just to say… I always feel like I've had a sensitive stomach and had migraines my whole life (which I'm now attributing to having celiac and not knowing it) but I feel my health took a turn for much worse around 2019-2020 (and this decline started before I caught covid for the first time). So I am now wondering based on what you said, if that ranitidine i took could have contributed to the yeast overgrowth, and that the problem has just been worsening ever since. I have distinctly felt that I am dealing with something more than just stress and battling a more fundamental disease process here. I've basically been in and out of different doctor specialties for the past 5 years trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Finally being diagnosed with celiac one year ago, I thought I finally had THE answer but now as I'm still sick, I think it's one of a few answers and that maybe yeast overgrowth is another answer. For me as well, my vitamin deficiencies have persisted even after I went gluten-free (and my TTG antibody levels came down to measurably below the detectable limit on my last blood test). So this issue of not absorbing vitamins well is also something our cases have in common. I'm now working with a nutritionist and taking lots of vitamins and supplements to try and remedy that issue. I hope that you continue to see improvements in working with your naturopath on this. Keep us posted!
    • ElenaM
Hello everyone. I am Elena and am 38 years old. I suspect I have a gluten intolerance even if my celiac panel is ok. I have the following symptoms : facial flushing, Red dots not bumps în face, bloating abdominal distension, hair loss, depression anxiety even with meds and even bipolar. Fatigue extreme to the point of not being able to work. All of these after I eat gluten. Could I have non celiac gluten sensitivity? Thanks anyone else with these symptoms?
    • JulieRe
Hi Everyone,  I do appreciate your replies to my original post.   Here is where I am now in this journey.  I am currently seeing a Naturopath.  One thing I did not post before is that I take Esomeprazole for GERD.  My Naturopath believes that the decrease in the gastric acid has allowed the yeast to grow.    She has put me on some digestive enzymes.  She also put me on Zinc, Selenium, B 12, as she felt that I was not absorbing my vitamins. I am about 5 weeks into this treatment, and I am feeling better. I did not have any trouble taking the Fluconazole.
