The accent was what you questioned? not if he wears a beret? (because what does the English speaking Easter bunny SAY, Coll? Do tell us. lmao

Hey, my cat plays scrabble and wins...anything is possible, right?

The visual that came to mind was the "Try-Out" Commercial for the role as the Cadbury Bunny.  Picture that big Lion roaring with a french accent.  :D  C'est La Vie

Thanks Colleen!

I do the tealight in the cake all the time...so freaking simple and makes the cake look fantastic...first time ever was for my Bunco Pals Christmas Party...let me see if I can find.

here it is:  https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/t1.0-9/380824_10150616657148574_1450736359_n.webp

and this is why nobody ever complains about eating completely gluten-free in my home ;)

ps...had mom make a wish on last night's candle even tho not her birthday -- told her i made it for her so the wishes counted regardless of the date :)

lol...everyone ate the peep...except Mom, who asked me with the cutest face "Do I have to eat the Peep?"  I think I found where my dislike of the little dudes started ;)

Tonight will be pork tenderloin and (to steal from Lisa) stuff. I was going to make it tomorrow but through some sort of super weird magical thawing voodoo it is ready to be cooked today. I'm not sure how. But I'll take it!

It's okay that some of your family doesn't like Peeps. I eat enough every year for at least 5 or 6 people.

For Easter we grilled steak, had a sort of garlic mashed potato and salad.  Chocolate pudding pie on a pre-made graham cracker crust!  MI-Del makes gluten-free pie crusts.  I saw graham cracker and chocolate cookie.  I make the chocolate cookie one but the pre-made costs the same as the bag of cookies to make it and it sticks together better.  And of course, convenience.  It tasted good, too.  Hub said no one would know.

I'm finally feeling much more like a human today. Getting some things done around the house that I let go all weekend. (Like my husband's laundry.) But still taking it easy and letting it happen at whatever pace it gets done at. It's laundry, if it doesn't get done it'll still be dirty and waiting tomorrow. No big deal.

Dinner will be leftover pork. I think I'll make puffs tonight because I didn't last night and they sound fun today. And veggie something of course, there's a freezer full of choices, I just have to pick something. I keep wanting more carrots but pretty soon I'm either going to turn into a carrot or run out.

I love the convenience of pre-made graham cracker or cookie crusts. I always hated making those things. <_< I'm all for homemade stuff but those are just the worst to make.

le jambon has given me swollen eyelids and a headache (and I am too tired to parlez that en francaise. )

Stoopid jambon.    That bone will make a yummy pea soup for J tomorrow.

Mother has returned to Boston and as sad as I am to see her depart, it will be good to have spices, herbs, onions, garlic back in the repertoire.

I think she adopted me from Julia Child. (what? it coulda happened. )

Dinner tonight is take out from PF Changs because THIS girl is tres fatigue.

GottaSki Mentor

I've got a jambon up for grabs...we dislike split pea soup very much...cracks me up...Mom had made Split Pea every year after Easter so I always gave her the bone and a pea soup mix I got up at a Country Store in Julian -- as she became -- shall we say more honest as her health has declined I found out she hates pea soup as much as me...but Dad and Sis love it so she never let on.  I asked Dad if he wanted the ham bone so he could make his own soup...he declined :P

Enjoy your night out Irish!

Son took me to see the movie 'Bears' -- I was so excited I almost had a temper tantrum when he was trying to oversleep today.  Told him he did not want to see what 48 year old's temper tantrum looks like -- lol -- he was up and ready in minutes ;)

Dinner is enchiladas again cuz I made too much sauce last time -- oops.  Will put different veggies with left over chicken breast meat from last night.

Happy Earth Day Dinner Peeps

kareng Grand Master

Last night I made some brown rice with shredded carrots and a packet of chicken bouillon.  Then I added the 2 partial packs of frozen corn in the freezer, 1 can of black beans, 1 can of pintos, a jar of salsa a little water to rinse out the salsa jar & covered with a little cheese.  Hub wasn't thrilled with it but then he started eating it,  and loved it!  Ate all left-overs I was counting on!   :D

Today's meatloaf will become tomorrow's sloppy jo's   ;)

We are jambom-intolerant, toots! <_<  argh

(although UNCURED ham --or any uncured meats. like bacon, etc.--does not bother me...Ergo, it's the crap they put in it)

I love to use "ergo" .  :D

Wow, that looks really good!!  I have gotten into sneaking veggies into things and feeding them to my husband but I think if I gave him a green soup he would make me sleep on the couch... haha.  I would dig in to it, though.

Last night I made pizza, yum yum yum.  Used the premade crusts I ordered, not bad.

That soup looks fabulous! I'll have to give it a go soon. Next soup on my list though is French onion soup. I can't wait. This weekend maybe.

I stretched myself a tad too thin today cutting fabric for heating pads and lining. Got killer muscle cramps in my legs and could barely walk back down the stairs. Lucky me, I have some handy heating pads! Farmers market starts in 6 Saturdays so I need to be in high gear, just maybe not quite that high.

I think after my mishap I'll just throw burgers on the indoor grill and do oven fries. Ore-Ida has these new "simply" potatoes that don't have weird ingredients and I picked up a bag. I don't remember what kind but I'm sure they'll come out tasting like an actual potato since they have a short list of ingredients that can actually be pronounced by most humans. I figured I can at least give them a try and I'm glad today to have them in the freezer.

Addy, Those Ore Ida simply sea salt fries--awesome in a pinch! enjoy :)

Mom and Aunt Jane both got their heat packs and their necks love them.

I have been using two non stop. lol

I am not feeling well at all, so J made me a pancake. He's very good at those.

He got us a brand new BBQ today. We need so many other things (gutters, overhead fans, etc.) but he said "we need a grill".

okay, lol Can't argue with that. It has a pizza stone included. So, how could I say no?

I have missed grilled burgers, so yaay! :)

J has his priorities in the right place - on all counts --  just saying :)

and the hubs just called dinner bell and my b%$@#in' soup will be made in the morning...I'm busy watching James Tiberius Kirk kick ass ;)

Sometimes, it is best to just let them take over for the day.  :) I watched a boatload of movies and TV shows today and I suspect

all will be better tomorrow.

PS to Arlene....hang in there dollface. You're gonna be hungry tomorrow afternoon.  I'd start with a big honkin bowl of gelato.  ;)

Dinner tonight.. may not happen.  Because I just baked a Betty Crockers gluten-free devils food cake mix and I have a tub of icing waiting to go in when it is cool enough.  Hmmm, I guess I will whip up a little bit of real food but I am definitely leaving room for cake!  (By the way for those who wonder why I post my dinners so late- I cook for when hubby gets home from work which can be pretty late)

This weekend I am getting a free gluten-free meal at one of my favorite local places, they had a Facebook contest where you comment on a picture and holy guacamole I actually won this time!  So a free entree to the place we were already planning to go to on our Saturday date, can't beat that!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
    • RMJ
To evaluate the TTG antibody result we’d need to know the normal range for that lab.  Labs don’t all use the same units.  However, based on any normal ranges that I’ve seen and the listed result being greater than a number rather than a specific number, I’d say yes, that is high! Higher than the range where the test can give a quantitative result. You got good advice not to change your diet yet.  If you went gluten free your intestines would start to heal, confusing any further testing,

Scott is correct….Thank you for catching that!      Direct link for info  of fillers.    http://www.glutenfreedrugs.com/Excipients.htm Link is on 2nd page  of www.glutenfreedrugs.com   Site was started by a pharmacist (or 2) maybe 15-20 yrs ago with LAST updated in  2017.  This makes it’s Drug List so old that it’s no longer relevant. Companies & contacts, along with suppliers &  sources would need to be referenced, same amount effort  as starting with current data on DailyMed      That being said, Excipient List is still be relevant since major changes to product labeling occurred prior ’17.           List is the dictionary that sources the ‘foreign-to-us’ terms used on pharmaceutical labels, terms we need to rule out gluten.    Note on DailyMed INFO— When you look for a specific drug on DailyMed, notice that nearly all of companies (brands/labels) are flagged as a ‘Repackager’… This would seem to suggest the actual ‘pills’ are being mass produced by a limited number of wholesaler suppliers (esp for older meds out of  patent protection.).      If so, multiple repackager-get  bulk shipments  from same supplier will all  be selling identical meds —same formula/fillers. Others repackager-could be switching suppliers  frequently based on cost, or runs both gluten-free & non- items on same lines.  No way to know  without contacting company.     While some I know have  searched pharmacies chasing a specific brand, long-term  solution is to find (or teach) pharmacy staff who’s willing help.    When I got 1st Rx ~8 years ago, I went to Walgreens & said I needed gluten-free.  Walked  out when pharmacist said  ‘How am I supposed  to know…’  (ar least he as honest… ). Walmart pharmacists down the block were ‘No problem!’—Once, they wouldn’t release my Rx, still waiting on gluten-free status from a new supplier. Re: Timeliness of DailyMed info?   A serendipitous conversation with cousin in Mi was unexpectedly reassuring.  She works in office of Perrigo, major products of OTC meds (was 1st to add gluten-free labels).  I TOTALLY lucked out when I asked about her job: “TODAY I trained a new full-time employee to make entries to Daily Med.’  Task had grown to hours a day, time she needed for tasks that couldn’t be delegated….We can only hope majorities of companies are as  conscientious!   For the Newbies…. SOLE  purpose of  fillers (possible gluten) in meds is to  hold the active ingredients together in a doseable form.  Drugs  given by injection or as IV are always gluten-free!  (Sometimes drs can do antibiotics w/ one-time injection rather than 7-10 days of  pills .) Liquid meds (typically for kids)—still read labels, but  could be an a simpler option for some products…

So I recently had allergy testing for IGE antibodies in response to foods. My test results came back positive to corn, white potatoes, egg whites. Tomatoes, almonds and peanuts to name a few.  I have had obvious reactions to a few of these - particularly tomatoes and corn- both GI issues. I don’t really understand all this allergy versus celiac stuff. If the food allergies are mild do I have to avoid these foods entirely? I don’t know what I will eat if I can’t  have corn based gluten free products

We have four children (7-14 yo), and our 7 year old was diagnosed with NCGS (though all Celiac labs were positive, her scope at 4 years old was negative so docs in the US won't call it celiac). We have started her on a Gluten Free diet after 3 years of major digestive issues and ruling out just about everything under the sun. Our home and kitchen and myself are all gluten-free. But I have not asked my husband/her dad or her other siblings to go completely gluten-free with us. They are at home, but not out of the home. This has led to situations when we are eating out where she has to consistently see others eating things she can't have and she has begun to say "Well, I can't have <fill in the blank>...stupid gluten."  How have you supported your gluten-free kiddos in the mental health space of this journey, especially young ones like her. I know it's hard for me as an adult sometimes to miss out, so I can't imagine being 7 and dealing with it! Any tips or ideas to help with this?
