  1. soy- gastro, rosacea bumps, and arthritis pain gluten- brain fog, gastro strawberries, pineapple, citrus-itchy rash on tongue (like geographical tongue but hurts and itches)
  2. Everything you ate (yes even the mayo) has soy except the artichoke. took me almost two years to discover soy was a problem too. Otherwise, my GI who is also gluten intolerant said that Amy's is notorious for cc (based on what patients tell him). Hope you figure it out, I know its frusterating!
  3. I blamed Casein for over a year for my troubles and it ended up being soy intolerance (along with celiac) all along. I now enjoy hard cheeses, butter, and cream again with no problems. the coffee mates got me too with the soybean oil. Casein is a protein of milk along with whey. Non dairy food items do not contain the milk fat (lactose) so this is where...
  4. glad you are feeling good so far this morning! One thing to keep in mind if you think maybe soy and symptoms pop up today or tomorrow, is to check your vitamins and supplements for soy. I had to get rid of almost all of mine because of soy. You will laugh but I take the the childrens gummy vites because they have no dairy, soy, gluten, eggs, peanuts, or...
  5. Maybe those that are reacting have another intolerance. For me its soy and I can't handle soybean oil so whenever I tried the french fries the soy oil would get me. I didn't know that soy was in them until recently since they don't cook them in soybean oil. I've noticed the oreida fries also have soybean oil listed now where before the didn't
  6. I agree, one of my pamphlets mentions a high rate of rosacea suffers reporting soy sauce and dairy as triggering their flushes. I already suffer from soy intolerance so that makes great sense to me. Within two hours of accidentally consuming soy, I will get acne, but now I know its really rosacea type acne.
  7. I live close to Denver and go there all the time and have never been to Fogo De Chao, thanks for the tip. BTW I love Hacienda, they actually have a separate counter area and dishes used for gluten free. I applaud their service to the gluten free community!
  8. Have you tried a soy elimination? I recently discovered that I am Soy intolerant as well and that is what has kept me from healing. Now I finally feel great 98% of the time! Soy Lecithin (not everyone reacts to soy lecithin) gets me as well and it is in most chocoloate candy. Hope you can figure it out!
  9. Finally went to a dermatologist today to determine my facial rash and was diagnosed with Rosecea. He gave me a prescription for Finacea because he says its his favorite. He believes that I can be treated topically since mine is still very mild but do have small patches of the little veins. He wants to see me in two months to make sure I am responding to...
  10. Microscopic Colitis is an actual disorder whereas IBS is a syndrome diagnosed only after all other possible disorders have been found negative. Microscopic Colitis can be seen during a colonoscopy when the GI uses a certain instrument siga something....others can jump in here, don't remember the exact name, because it is hard to see otherwise. I belong...
  11. I am one that does NOT react to Rice Milk and can't wait for the egg nog rice dream to hit the shelves! I agree with Lisa that everyone is different especially with their level of sensitivity.
  12. If the D is very watery and hard to control you may want to consider ruling out Microscopic Colitis. Here is an Article from Science Direct (Dr. Peter H.R. Green is a very respected Celiac expert) An Association Between Microscopic Colitis and Celiac Disease Peter H.R. Green, Corresponding Author Contact Information, E-mail The Corresponding Author...
  13. Can't eat reeses because of soy and the non fat milk powder (I am mildly lactose intolerant and milk powder is too much for me). Found out last christmas that the reese's bells have gluten....the hard way! If you were able to eat chocolate brownies then it must be something else! I like chocolate too...thank goodness for enjoy life chocolate!
  14. remember everyone that the original thread is from 2007.
  15. I agree with horsesoul to try soy free for a test. Soy was my big missing puzzle piece. I thought I developed casein intolerance ect and it was just the soy. Your Kraft Balsamic dressing would have soy bean oil and perhaps the gluten free chicken broth. The only brand I have found soy free for chicken broth is kitchen basics and better than boullion ...
  16. Better than Boullion by Superior Touch (SUPERIORTOUCH.COM). You can see if they sell commercial quantities. Very good company all organic. Here are the ingredients on my chicken base: Chicken meat with natural juices, salt, cane sugar, maltodextrin, natural flavor, dried onion, Potato starch, Dried Garlic, Tumeric, and spice extractives. When calling...
  17. Soy was the missing link for me as well. During my first year gluten free, I still had problems and suspected soy since soy milk gave me bad gas. I eliminated soy except for soybean oil and lecithin. I got tested for soy back in early August and did show an elevated IgA to soy. This time around, I have eliminated all soy including the oil and lecithin...
  18. Happy Birthday! I hope you do something just for you today!
  19. I fry them a minute per side in canola oil then put them on a paper towel to drain extra oil. This helps alot to keep them from splitting. Mission is a good brand that holds together well.
  20. My rice dream says gluten free on the front of the box in the corner. I don't have any problems with it and am very sensitive. I can't have soy lecithin and rice dream is both gluten and soy free. There is a rice dream product heart smart or something like that, that does list barley malt in their ingredients but also does not say gluten free so maybe...
  21. Also in the U.S. Lea & Perrins is soy free as well. Just got validation from the company the other day.
  22. Soy gets me faster than gluten with acne around my mouth and jaw line. I do recover within a day with soy but takes me a few days with gluten (fog and tiredness).
  23. Very inspiring, thank you!
  24. I was gluten free for a year and a half, then did formal testing. I glutened challenged for two months and couldn't take it anymore and went back to gluten free a month before my endoscopy. I still showed positive, so any amount of time you can challenge MAYBE will be helpful; however, getting sick again on gluten is a positive test IMO!
