ARCHIVED Biaggi's Italian Restaurant
ksymonds84 replied to bakinghomesteader's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
You would have to call them. They generally use the closest gluten-free bakery. The one's here in Colorado use Deby's gluten free that is out of Denver. -

ARCHIVED Gliadin Ab Iga Results Confusing!?!
ksymonds84 replied to alexa1's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome! It sounds like you have a very good doctor. Not all of them would know to look for celiac. Celiac has over 200 symptoms and some are silent celiac having no symptoms at all. One of my Celiac friends only gets a lower back ache when she's glutened, the list could go on forever! There's always a chance it is not celiac though, but wanted to clear... -

Swimmr, my mother in law bought the canned cool whip by Kraft and it didn't have soy lecithin in it!

ARCHIVED Gluten-Free Lists Not Reliable
ksymonds84 replied to JBaby's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Peter, here is also a list that is given on gluten free.com by their monitor aklap. Like you, I still always read ingredients everytime I buy something. Here is a list of the companies that always disclose gluten in their ingredients: B&G Foods Blue Bunny ConAgra Del Monte General Mills Hain Celestial Group Hormel Kraft Lee Kum Kee USA... -
ARCHIVED To Test Or Not To Test...
ksymonds84 replied to ciavyn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would get all the testing done that you can possibly afford so that you will not second guess yourself later. The problem for some (not all) who self diagnose sometimes find themselves in a cycle of whether or not they really have a problem with gluten and find it very hard to stick to the diet. I did the self diagnoses thing kind of (my family doctor... -
ARCHIVED Is Endoscopy Needed?
ksymonds84 replied to amlance's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Mushroom had great advice but wanted to add if you are the type of person who will question your diagnoses in the future, its better to do all the testing available. I was like that and had a "wishful thinking" that I really wasn't Celiac. I had to do an awful gluten challenge ect last summer to prove that I did indeed need to do this diet for life. If... -
I agree with you totally. I hate the words "fad diet"in combination with gluten free. I also hate it when someone thinks that we have a choice. Personally I would choose not to be celiac if I could really choose! I've accepted my new normal when it comes to eating now. Although after almost 2 years, I still occasionally have a pity party when I truly...

ARCHIVED Rice Dream?
ksymonds84 replied to clarkje20's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
... I don't care how little they think is safe. It should be disclosed. I'm so disgusted. People may say "Oh, I don't feel a reaction" but that does NOT mean that low-level damage is not occurring. -
ARCHIVED Bob's Red Mill
ksymonds84 replied to hazeleyez682's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I totally agree Wendy! For me, I am also intolerant of soy and think that I cross react with the bean products and guar gum that BRM uses since they are all legumes like soy, thats the only thing I can figure out as to why I react to their products. -
I am very sensitive to soy and eat eggs everyday without a problem and I just buy normal eggs whatever is on sale. There is a ton of misinformation on the web so you need to be careful. Some ideas that come to mind is spaghetti with tinkyada noodles and prego (uses canola oil and according to cambells is now guten free, they wouldn't say so last year)....

ARCHIVED Received Enterolab Results
ksymonds84 replied to sunnybabi1986's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I think any elevation in anitbodies warrants a dietary test. I was I think (2 years ago) a 5 and a positive was an 8 on the blood test. I was only gluten free for a month. had a positive biopsy almost 2 years later. Some people just don't make enough IgA. I did do the Enterolab test too just for curiosity on IgA levels and also for the gene test. I... -
ARCHIVED Bloating/gas
ksymonds84 replied to twe0708's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Certain foods will cause gas and bloating in people whether celiac or not. My husband who is not Celiac will have problems with bean dishes such as chili and mexican dishes. I've also banned him from Fat Tire beer....those are the worst farts ever -
ARCHIVED Multiple Food Issues Suck!
ksymonds84 replied to Mrs. N's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I contacted them a couple months ago regarding the soy and they told me no soy in the original Lea and Perrins. Vinegar, Molasses, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Anchovies, Water, Onions, Garlic, Tamarind Concentrate, Cloves, Natural Flavorings, Chili Pepper Extract. Always be on the look out for ingredients to change but right now no soy or gluten. -

ARCHIVED Eliminate Soy...what To Do Now?
ksymonds84 replied to frustrated09's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
You have given me some hope here! Presently soy lecithin bothers me. My G.I. told me that I MAYBE able to add back soy oil and lecithin later but never the Soy Protein. -

ARCHIVED Ssris
ksymonds84 replied to LadyCyclist87's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was on Prozac for a number of years because I have extreme PMS. I gradually took myself off from this because it caused sleep problems and my restless legs to be worse. If you want to look for something more natural, what I have found that helps ME is the Herb St. John's Wort. It works for me just as well as the SSRI's. In fact, case studies show that... -
My daughter goes to school in Boulder so I am there about once a month. I love Sunflower!! They have an excellent gluten free menu. You will find that Boulder is the most friendliest town when it comes to Gluten free dining. Whole foods started there and you will find one every other street so it seems. I am wine drinker so don't know about the beer...

ARCHIVED Green Tea
ksymonds84 replied to digmom1014's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
soy lecithin was in one green tea I looked at. I also had to give away my blueberry tea because it was also included in the ingredients. I unfortunately react to soy lecithin.
