  1. If the smell of liquor makes you ill, then you definitely have something else going on because: a) you can't get gluten in your system by smelling something; b) distillation removes all gluten. Can you drink liquor made from gluten-free ingredients, for example Smirnoff Vodka is made from corn?
  2. We updated this article today to include more information directly from the FDA.

  6. The Nima sensor cannot test distilled or hydrolyzed items, which it says on its site.
  7. We updated this to say “may contain“ because they don’t necessarily contain msg.
  8. So do you have celiac disease? Was there gluten in the candy? If so, here are some ideas:
  9. Celiac.com 09/07/2020 - Anyone living in a bubble for the last decade or two might be excused for asking "What, exactly, is bubble tea, aka 'boba tea?'" Anyone not living in a bubble the last decade or two, and who has celiac disease,...

  12. Sorghum is gluten-free and eat my millions of people ever day. This reminds me of how rice can be high in arsenic. I guess like most this you need to decide it you want it in your diet or not.

  15. I am not making any accusations here, but another possibility is that she could be cheating on her diet, or getting accidental gluten. In my experience having a teenage daughter, it was her cheating that caused her antibodies to stay high. This drove me nuts for a while, and after I realized that I really could not control her I at least got her to agree...
  16. If I were you I would get a genetic test done on her to see if she carries the genes necessary for her to have celiac disease. A negative blood test with a mild positive biopsy would also leave me with many questions.
  17. If the vinegar is fermented, then all ingredients used to make it must be gluten-free for it to be labelled gluten-free. If the vinegar is distilled, it can be labelled as gluten-free no matter what ingredients are used to make it, so distillation renders it gluten-free.
  18. Yes, the Canadian article was about disability insurance, and I may be grandfathered into the company health plan (2006). I will check into that because it may make sense to go through Covered California to see if I can get a better deal. In any case, I recently checked on the premiums for extending my life insurance, and they would be sky high due...
  19. Is it possible that you also have an issue with dairy/casein? Many people with celiac disease, including myself, have, at least temporarily, additional food intolerances after being diagnosed. This is due to a condition called "leaky gut" and once you successfully heal your gut with a gluten-free diet for several months, or even up to a year or two for some...
  20. Regarding #7, you would not want to treat parasites unless you first went to your doctor and tested positive for them. At which point, the doctor would treat you for them.
