Hi & Welcome Does your daughter's hair fall out all over or in balding patches??? Does she take multi mins & vits daily? You can learn alot on this board-- a great group.... ARCHIVED My Vitamins Are Not Digesting
mamaw replied to kathy2005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Kathy Sorry but I never heard of not being able to digest a capsule so I can't help with that. But perhaps mixing the powder with applesauce or pudding might make it go down easier. Just a thought. That way something else would be in your stomach to make digesting easier. blessings mamaw -
Welcome Sue F. Just wanted to say welcome & give it some time to sink in. It is a shock to try to change a lifetime of wheat & gluten. It will work itself into your lifestyle , just don't get overwehlmed. Take it slow & start out with veggies, meats, & fruits you know are safe. Add new things as you find they are gluten free. Clan Thompson...

Hi Lisa Hugs to you!! Family members can be soooo cruel at times.. But I agree with the others messages to you. And in as much as you don't want to move out that is probably gonna be your best move. That way you will control all aspects of your gluten free lifetstyle. My family was not supportive & now maybe one of them is looking at a celiac dx, after...

When I started out my soul mate was the same way until I got sick.He kept asking what happened so I then let him have it ... After I got over my rant I asked kindly that...

mamaw replied to num1habsfan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Lisa sorry your having a misable day. I hope it gets better & you ace all the finals.. mamaw -
I agree with all the other posters suggestions & tips. I think the girl is trying to goat you & perhaps trying to be a smart a__. Some people are just cruel & enjoy it. Since you have already spoken to her about it I think I also would speak to the doctor. This stuff is bad enough but in a medical profession for someone to do that is just bad...

I think the only way to be totally gluten-free without any worries would be to wash all cooking items in scalding soapy hot water. And from there cook everything that goes into your mouth. I truly think it is very hard not to get a crumb from somewhere or to breathe in .... Everyone of us react differently to foods, soaps & shampoo, so what fits one...

ARCHIVED Do Vitamin/ Mineral Supplements Really Make A Difference?
mamaw replied to covsooze's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I take vits & minerals on a regular basis. In the world as it is today all of our foods have been altered in some shape or form. They do not contain the nutrients they used to have. We are not eating the same as our forefathers..... the foods have definitely been changed & not for the better.. When you do take supplements you need to take the very... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Heard Of This Or Had It Done?
mamaw replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
For Canadian Karen--- I never had to sign anything in regards to Bio_Set testing. But I don't know what Canada's laws are in regards to practitioners. That may be a common practice for your country...I myself would never sign a waiver. I could go on & tell you all how many times Bio-set has helped me ,physically, emotional, thyroid issues, blood issues... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Heard Of This Or Had It Done?
mamaw replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Everyone Just thought I'd add my two cents on this topic. Since I have severe reactions to mainstream drugs I use alternative ways if possible..Yes, there are quacks out there, but I firmly believe if you find a reputable practitioner these things work... It's hard for some who only believe in mainstream drugs (which by the way are foreign to our bodies... -

Hi Lauren & welcome It does take some time to really start to feeling better. Being tired is just one thing that alot of celiacs feel. You said your mother has been celiac for 10 years. Does she not eat any breads? You said you have not been eating as much & missing sandwichs & so on. I eat everything pretty much as I did before - just without...

mamaw replied to ladybugpumpkin's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I use Anna's mix all the time. On her website she states alot of hints , one is if the bread sinks reduce the water by 3 tbsp. Now this is for her mixes but I would think it would be helpful for any bread mix. I have the zojurushi machine & love it. I bake her bread mix on the quick wheat bread setting. 2 hrs.8min.I alway cool it down & then refrigerate...
