kareng replied to dania's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Why are you being tested for Celiac? It sounds like you do very well with gluten. -

I live in KC . My experience has been that most BBQ meat is gluten-free. I have never see a BBQ sauce with malt? You will need to ask questions - if they don't know the ingredients or what gluten-free means, don't eat it. -

Bacon is the cure for everything! Edit- it showed the video when I quote it! ( it's because I rubbed some bacon on it) -
SO funny! I don't mind the people that don't know or forget, saying things like " this cake is soooo good! You need to get some". And I am happy people enjoy their gluteny treats. But this one sounds a bit like " nah! Nah! na! Nah! Nah! I can have this super yummy cake and you can't!". And that is just plain mean. I have been thinking of responses...

ARCHIVED Close To 2 Years Gluten Free And Still Bad Weeks?
kareng replied to LolaB's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Like Colleen said, a colonoscopy isn't the best way to see if you have Celiac damage. It is possible to get to the far end of the small intestines that way but , it seems that the damage is more likely found at the top end ( endoscopy). Are your yearly Celiac blood tests good? That might help to see if you are getting some gluten accidentally. Have... -

Sorry for all the extra stuff. Hoping to get that sorted out soon. I know I make a breakfast bar recipe from here that uses agave to sweeten. Might look for recipes using agave or honey? Edit - how did she get here? Let me try to copy the website again. Deleted silly picture. Open Original Shared Link -

I have not seen this. So I went looking and didn't see it mentioned on the Univ of Chicago Celiac center site. Maybe I missed it? But, if its true, then you are saying that many people diagnosed with celiac disease don't actually have Celiac disease? Our positive blood antibodies are from Candidia? Maybe you could start a topic and show us this research... -
ARCHIVED Safe Children's Acetaminophin

I would use them. Very few, if any, Medicine companies test the finished product for gluten. It's just a CYA a statement. -

Our Bonefish has told me twice that that zuchinni thing isn't gluten-free. The waiter last night said it probably is but this kitchen is probably over careful about things that aren't on the gluten-free menu. A bit lazy at thinking for themselves, maybe? That's Ok. I LOVE asparagus! -

ARCHIVED As For Other Foods, Do Tomatoes Or gluten-free Bacan Make Anyone Else React?
kareng replied to mommyto2kids's topic in Super Sensitive People
To me, tomatoes are sometimes too acidic. I think it depends on what I eat with them, too. Cheese helps block the acid, maybe. And different kinds of tomatoes have more or less acid. -
ARCHIVED Can “Glutenase” Pills Help People With Celiac Digest Gluten?
kareng replied to kareng's topic in Publications & Publicity
I have tried to get the robotics team i mentor to make us new robotic GI tracts and immune systems. No one seems interested. I guess a robot throwing a large ball or a frisbee is more fun to make.- 21 replies

Welcome to the club! There is no Celiac reason to eliminate sugar. Not sure what the doc was going for there. Maybe he just didn't want you eating a bunch of gluten-free junk? On beauty products - the ones that might get in your mouth are the most important to be gluten-free. For example, I don't worry about mascara but I do worry about my face...

Don't you love the google ads? A year or so ago, we were talking about having a dating service for Celiacs. Kidding around that we could start a section on the forum, etc. everyone started getting an ad for dating sexy Asian girls with basically naked pictures! admin was able to block it. Ooooo.... Wonder if a dating site or hot sexy cabana boy site... -
