Most stores bought ones have a long list of ingredients and loaded with starches and carbs in an effort to mimic gluten texture. They are also often unenriched and made with a poor nutrient profile. Sorta why I started making my own without starches, grains, sugars, and using nut-based flours, eggs, coconut oil (keep it moist), leavening agents, psyllium...

I perfected a new menu item for tent and truck sales at markets. Breakfast on a stick, imagine a corn dog, but eggs instead of breading, cooked on either turkey sausage to turkey bacon. Thinking these can be sold for $3 each. Food truck financing is still slow, the fundraiser had $25 this last month and I have raised $4k by cutting back on my meds and...

This is interesting and collaborates with my issues. I had discoloration and spots despite good dental hygiene for years. Even bunches of cavities, and later teeth just breaking as an adult. Funny how more and more come together as we learn more about this disease. It really does affect the whole body.

Generic one I got for free, never had to use one.....all 4 reactions I have had before getting it I got through with liquid antihistamines and chewing pills. An odd method that requires a sound mind and control but doing so and letting it slowly work down my throat has opened it back up. But I always keep shot bottles of liquid antihistamines and a pocket...

I would consult the person...and ask them to supervise. I would never trust eating food prepared by someone who does not know about the disease and Cross Contamination. The Ribeye, CC can come from but not limited to, Cutting board (scratches can retain gluten that can not be cleaned off), the grill can have gluten on the bars (suggest cooking on foil...

Now I have 3 major things that are dangerous to me, Gluten, Corn, and Whey from dairy. I can deal with being around my other issues but these I can not. Now keeping gluten out was pretty much eliminated awhile back after the burrito incident. IE I cater lunch every day and provide snacks to everyone. BUT the sorry SOB keeps sneaking in corn syrup sodas...

When in doubt rip it out?
Ennis-TX replied to Trillium2's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have one of the odd genes for celiac, it also gave me UC. https://www.snpedia.com/index.php/Rs6822844 On the celiac testing, they did for you, was it the full panel? Some people test negative on some and require full panel. https://celiac.org/about-celiac-disease/screening-and-diagnosis/screening/ PS I follow a paleo diet, with more emphasis... -
T1D and gluten sensitivity
Ennis-TX replied to ramie.wb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
If you are celiac, then yes you need to avoid gluten at ALL cost. Eating out is Russian roulette and I would suggest reading the newbie 101 post. T1D and Celiac share some of the same genes and often go hand in hand with people. Any bit of cross contamination as mentioned can trigger the immune system and it can keep attacking your insides, for me,...- 4 replies

Rare for any to contain wheat/gluten. I have seen shampoos and lotions that use wheat germ oil. The big concern in this, you wash body/hair, or put lotion on that had gluten in it. Next, your going to fix food, have a snack, put a piece of gum in your mouth, take meds. You touch your body/hair where the offending agent was applied then you touch anything...

I can relate to the treat issues myself. I have blood sugar issues (no doctor to diagnosis) but cannot eat sugar or carbs or my glucose showed spikes to the 400s per the meter. Both parents are also diabetics. If I crave pasta, I use Konjac based noodles like Miracle noodles, or the ones by Julian bakery or thrive market. Low carb and you have to rinse...

I use sunflower oil for deep frying, due to the hypoallergenic nature and high smoke point (just make sure it is fresh). NOW what I might suggest are also options, air fryer. They take much longer to get the job done but you can toss whatever you might be frying in a tiny bit of whatever is safe for you IE Avocado Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil are...

Kellogg's Eggo Waffles Now Gluten-free!
Ennis-TX commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
They do not use gluten-free purity protocol oats for these. There was a post a week or so ago by someone on a blog, it was mentioned in my local Celiac Support group via Facebook.- 40 comments

Rinsing it off under running water real good, this is to get any CC off. Examples, if there is a open air bakery some flour might have settled on your produce at the grocery store. OR if they are giving out samples some person might have been handling a dounut and touched your produce. Rinsing it off under running water works to remove any trace amounts normally...

Yep, dang just realized I had a $10 off code in my email for the coffee you could have used. Yeah I love the coffees, some are odd. Most dessert ones require you to sweeten to bring it out, some you only taste cold. They are fun to play with and I love how they give me enjoyment when it comes to food.

Again Primal Kitchen is canola free, they use Avocado Oil in all their mayo, dressings, sauces. I would suggest them for Mayo, Salad Dressings, Sauces, and Condiments. They are grain free also with Paleo Diet base (diet of our ancestors) https://thrivemarket.com/brand/primal-kitchen https://www.primalkitchen.com/collections

Update I checked it against my DNA and I do not have the gene for this. >.> I find it funny straw mushrooms are no issues, neither are 2 others in supplements I tested this week. I tried one bite from one of those bella mushrooms again no issues (have them frozen). Who knows I will chock past issues up to intolerance or CC.

News: Go gluten free this Pancake Tuesday
Ennis-TX replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Have this recipe for those needing a grain free version lower carb, I also have a almond flour version. https://www.celiac.com/blogs/entry/2606-coconut-flour-pancakes/ -
When in a hurry they just rinse them, so your glass could have been used with beer, and WAS probably drank out of by a guy eating gluten pasta or sandwich. Glasses can have nicks/scratches and retain gluten also....I supposed this would effect silverware also, but I normally bring my own (normally eat with chopsticks anyway). OH and another reference...

Can Researchers Use Gene-Editing to Make Gluten-Safe Wheat?
Ennis-TX commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Latest Research
My whole point with this, going gluten free was a 180 from a death bed and bucket list to slowly gaining my health back. I got nerve and brain issues with (scary). Heck going grain free and paleo (the diet of our ancestors we are genetically evolved to eat)....SO much better. Why spend millions of dollars trying to make a crop we should not be eating... -
I use the coconut & hisbiscus ones, but ALL products made by this company are gluten free certified https://www.eoproducts.com/collections/hair Christopher Bean are all gluten free, uses artificial flavoring extracts. These do not contain allergens are proteins from what they taste like. Honestly sounds bad but the flavors...

I did like cycling lady, I got a meal prep lunch box with cooling block. I can keep 2-3 meals in the small one. They make a large one that can keep 5 meals in them for traveling. Just move the reusable containers to fridge on arrival (buy extras and do a weeks worth at a time). Like her I bring my own meals to restaurant meet ups (PS never use the glasses...

This is very interesting, mushrooms have been hit and miss for me with years. Canned Straw Mushrooms from Polar NEVER bother me, fresh ones are like playing russian roulette. I had luck for several months not getting sick with them but tossed the rest of this batch...I do have them in tomorrows quiche ready to bake in the frige with spinach. That will tell...

It is really simple for most parts just going with brands you trust, once you get it down it becomes second nature and you tend to stick with them. These are some ideas of what I use and everyone uses their own for their own reasons (mine are a bit more complicated). Cleaning supplies...I have a red and green bucket and wash cloths next to sink on counter...
