Sick after having Gluten
Ennis-TX replied to Daveb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You really do have to advocate for yourself and bring your own stuff everywhere. Exceptions might be a 100% gluten free owned restaurant or a place with a dedicated gluten free kitchen, we have a few in the city north of here with Celiac in the families. Going on what cycling lady said....every time you get exposed you risk your immune system and body... -
Like many others, gluten is not even allowed in my house, I do not accept premade food from others in the house either. Prepackaged SEALED certified Gluten Free products are sometimes allowed and fresh raw sealed and uncut veggies and fruit. I prepare everything for the holidays in my kitchen. If someone wants to help, they can go shopping with me...

Keto Cinnamon Rolls
Ennis-TX commented on Ennis-TX's blog entry in Gluten Free and Specialty Diet Recipes
Yep, bloat like crazy, gas, and extreme pain. PS I have not tried yeast in 4 years, maybe I got over it. The distention and pain it gave...might have been a really bad UC reaction before it was diagnosed.- 3 comments

I do body building with this disease...took years of healing before I started gaining weight. I follow a paleo based diet with a macro emphasis on a keto/atkins rotation. Not for everyone but deals with my other AI issues. I use Naked Pea protein often, Jarrow Pumpkin is great for recovery due to zinc and iron content along with the amino acid complex...

I am allergic to corn and react to some things with maltodextrin, it can also be made from rice or tapioca in America. Perhaps you can name the medications and manufacture to see if anyone else here was experience. I would also suggest you contact your pharmacist and ask for details.

Gluten Free Pills
Ennis-TX replied to Emily1975's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
...The glidenX lessen how long my abdominal symptoms are present and they seemed less pronounced, same with my ataxia. They are not a cure all. I take it when I accidentally get exposed....I would never suggest taking them then consuming it knowingly If you kids are celiac, any amount of gluten will cause damage for months even after eating it pill or... -
Worried Mom having an emotional night
Ennis-TX replied to Aries74's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If this fails and traveling is not a option, keep him on a gluten diet eating at least 1-2 slices of bread a day (try the evening and sleeping off the pain), and ordering the test online. There are places you can do this now like letsgetchecked.com and everyly well, still not a full panel but better then nothing, and you might be able to then see about tracking... -

This is a really old thread, check the dates. Back when I went gluten free, I learned to avoid Campbell everything. They used to not have any safe products and the red label was a red flag to stay away. Guess it has changed in past 5 years or so. But the rule still applies, ALWAYS check labels, call companies to be sure, and if there is doubt throw it...

If you can not eat a varied diet, do not eat the "vitamin sprayed" enriched foods, and or have any kind of intestinal damage, inflammation, etc. I would say yes. Fact is even the recommendations and daily values they suggested are the bare minimums, and many people genetically require more of certain ones and many are only soluble or usable under certain...

Gluten in Foods Labeled 'Gluten-Free' an Ongoing Problem
Ennis-TX commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
Thing about Asian prep and cooking....they use wheat based soy sauce like most Americans use salt and pepper. It is used so often that it is a afterthought and most of the cooking and prep areas are precontaminated with it. But thankfully we can buy whole foods and make our own quite easy, coconut secret makes teriyaki sauce, coconut aminos, and garlic...- 16 comments

Need for a gluten/maize free bread
Ennis-TX replied to Jake.f's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Julians Bakery makes a grain free paleo bread get the sampler back straight from the bakery...DO NOT order from anywhere else IE amazon, local stores. But fresh from the bakery. They also have pancake and waffle mixes. I myself run a small gluten free bakery and our paleo breads are based off their recipe reverse engineered and made with more egg whites... -
Digestive Enzyme
Ennis-TX replied to laf2005laurie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I react badly to xantham gum derived from corn products, and citric acid in the same way. I found a few safe ones that did not make me sick (find they are made on beets or other medium) but still avoid them. I love the article Califlour Foods did on why they do not use it. I personally run a gluten free bakery and do chef work, I turned to stuff like psyllium... -
1-2 slices of bread a day for 2 weeks, some get by with a few tsp of vital wheat gluten a day. You can try eating at night and sleeping off the worst of it.

So few more life hacking, cooking, food, and health updates. 1. My diarrhea for the past 6 months stopped, no changes in diet or medications it just tapered off and is solid again, still a bit oily from pancreas issues but solid. I assume this means the antibodies finally went down? Probably jinxed it but 4 days now solid stools. 2. Fasting in the evening...

Sick after decorating
Ennis-TX replied to Elliottohonedhome's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yeah I would toss the vacuum, have the house air system cleaned, and like mentioned have the upultry cleaned. Also see about cleaning all your stuff in your kitchen, that dust probably settled lightly all in the house. Go at it like you just bug bombed the house and need to clean everything before use. Consider doing all the laundry again also with a...- 19 replies

The fatigue was bad for me in highschool, several other things raise issues. As mentioned keep eating gluten and make sure to get the full blood test to rule out celiac. Few things to help in the mean time, if it is gut related, as in damaged intestines consider taking oral/liquid Supplements for common ones. IE B-vitamins (full spectrum, like Liquid Health...

I was going to make hamburger Salad but recalled a mini burger receipe from a cook book I got from ketosummit. Modified slightly and made 2 regular size buns in 2 cup glass dishes. Celiac and Neuropathy
Ennis-TX replied to Anna Lyndal's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yeah, the pin and needles was a big turn around sign years ago it would get really bad at points to almost like a hot burning needles being shoved into my body in moving waves. IT later progressed to other issues like looping broken record like thoughts where I would get stuck on something and it would just loop in my head and random bouts of hyde like anger... -
No real sales or income past few weeks, I did get a few early gifts. Dad got me a new bed set, OK this might not sound like much BUT I have been using the same blanket, sheets, etc for the past 10 years. ONE set. I just wash it every week and put it back on...the sheets were so worn you can see through them. My car, we still...

Gluten free stools
Ennis-TX replied to Sarahcat58's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Magnesium Citirate (Calm from Natural Vitality) for constipation, start with a scale and 2g (1/4tsp) up it 2g a day til you get loose stools then back it down 2 grams. It helps keep liquid in your stools and too much can act as a laxative while too little if you suffer from Magnesium Deficiency will cause constipation in some. I had to do this for years in... -
Yeah big FDA thing still about the oat sorting....but when they use a machine to sort wheat out from oats....those oats are still CCed in my opinion. The method that they use for testing this boxes has been a hot debate for years and Gluten Free Watchdog has done many articles and presentations on how the cheerios are being "tested" and it is ridiculous....
