Maybe keto based bar without sugars? Julian Bakery is my go to, I also use Bhu Keto Bars and a few others. Do see the type of protein used. Some use plant base which makes some people gassy or do not tolerate like sancha inchi, or pea, others use more stomach-friendly egg whites (bad texture) or pumpkin. They are not all that tasty but warm them up 10 sec...

I second Cylcinglady, lactose intolerance is very common with this disease, you should remove all dairy for a few months. What brand chicken nuggets did you have? Did you make your own unbreaded and plain? Could it be an intolerance to another ingredient, after exposure to gluten we often develop a new food intolerance or sensitivity? On a personal...

Sinuses sensitive to potato chips but not potatoes
Ennis-TX replied to hayley3's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
The corn is weird, they say it depends on many factors of processing, and then factor in your immune system, iodine intake, H1,H2,H3 blockers, etc. I thought the corn allergy people were crazy when they talked about citric acid, dextrose, salt (often processed with additives made from corn when made to prevent clumping), malic acid, etc. I started calling... -
Sinuses sensitive to potato chips but not potatoes
Ennis-TX replied to hayley3's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I had to give up most chips years ago, seems prevalence of corn-based ingredients is quite high with them. Took me while to figure this out and slowly whittled down my options to serve to guest. The last option I had was taken away by corn also when they changed ingredients. So Now I make protein crackers and veggie chips at home. There is still 1 brand I... -
Bit of a health infographic, yesterday I was super stressed and broke a few records but this is just slightly above my average day. Extended fasting is dangerous with this kind of activity.

I was reading and watching stuff from Thomas Delauer, Ketogenicgirl, and a few other things. I do not take BCAA any more but moved to protein powders, it was covered as something that can spike insulin but protein is more themogenic. I also moved my meds closer together and dropped some I no longer need. Fun fact did you know fluorine can spike insulin? The...

Why Bananas No Longer Cure Celiac Disease
Ennis-TX commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Origins of Celiac Disease
It is not gluten related, but some people get allergies to it, or an intolerance. If you have secondary issues like SIBO, Candida, or gut issues that flare to sugars then it can cause gas and bloat. But it will not cause the immune system to attack the intestines like gluten in celiacs. -
Genetic testing
Ennis-TX replied to Katya773's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think it was 30% of the American population has the gene? But only 1 out of 133 have the disease. BUT research does show that having a first-degree relative with the disease increases your chances to 1 of 22 of getting it in your lifetime. The only way to truly know is to do the gluten challenge and get blood tested and scoped with a biopsy. But... -
This month started with nice April fools from life, My quiche this morning, was a blend of Almond Flour, coconut flour, riced broccoli, eggs, califour Plant pizza crust, pumpkin seed meal, and almond ricotta cheese. I topped with a few tsp of sauces on one end and dressings on the other. ANYWAY I think the broccoli from KetoandCo had a pebble in it I bit...

I would get the angry "Mr. Hyde" first few years after a exposure, I would also the crazy emotions, and looping thoughts that would go like a broken record driving me mad. I could not think of stuff I would try, simple task became much harder, motor control issues. The anger and looping have been gone for years, but the motor control issues come back with...

Yep, gluten is a protein not a germ or bacteria. To destroy the protein you need like 500F+ heat. Alcohol is not going to destroy the gluten. Scratched bowls, pots, pans, cutting boards, will often retain gluten in the scratches. Do not use them for your food. Get dedicated Gluten-Free ones.

If she had SIBO then a high fat/protein diet low carb should be part of the treatment. On this diet "ketogenic" your body uses fat for fuel and in the absence will consume body fat or muscle. The key to preventing this is 1.eat more fat to fuel the body, 2. Eat protein to repair and rebuild muscle 3. being active and engaging muscles to prevent muscle wasting...

Perhaps having just a few spoons of nut butter, or avocado in the evening can help, BCAAs can help prevent muscle loss. I found fasting and not eating supper and eating keto in combination with resistance training, has caused me to gain muscle mass the past few weeks after over 5 years of trying and failing to gain much weight but everyone's metabolism...

As mentioned scratched plastic, or if heated they become porous and can retain gluten. Keep dedicated gluten-free cookware. Look Up Nordicware, they make microwave cookware, omelet makers, rice cookers, steam trays, bacon cookers, grill plates and splatter covers for said grill plates. Put some paper towels down underneath.

Ulcerative Colitis, it is another Autoimmune disease, but of the large intestine. Causes bloating, bloody stool, distention. Everyone has different triggers to cause it to flare, for me gluten, spices, sugar, carbs, starches. I use Marshmallow Root and Slippery Elm powder to coat and soothe it adjusting dosing. And no, I am quite sensitive, I have gotten...

Gluten free no beans chili
Ennis-TX replied to Dane's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My UC flared to starches, carbs, sugars, but not straight fiber. Beans, Spices, Grains, Fruit, Sugar, anything with starches. I slowly removed stuff til I was down to a Paleo Based Ketogenic diet. Amusingly I found a ketogenic blogger "ketogenicgirl" who uses the diet to treat her UC. I find I am fine with nuts, and seeds with high fiber ratio, but any... -
I use Liquid Health, and I only use the Mega Energy B-vitamins and Neurological Support one tbsp each twice a day. Great just to add the liquid to a beverage. They also make a multivitamin and vitamin D. Get them on Vitacost best pricing wait for them to drop the 20% off supplement coupons they do once a month. I use Bluebonnet for Vitamin D, Ester C...

I second Cyclinglady, get fresh, WASH and spin then store in a salad keeper box with paper towels in the fridge or in a HUGE salad bowl. Prepping a weeks worth at a time is good. On the kits/mixes, if just green mix that probably safe, the concerns are with salad kits, which have the croutons, dressing,s etc in the bag. I would stay away from those...

This is my take on a pudding Souffle dairy and sugar-free. 1/4 cup (28g) Cocoa Powder (type used changes up the flavor, Black for oreo, Dark for cake used here, and plain is bit more like pudding) 1 Package Knox Gelatin 1 Can Full Fat Coconut milk (unshaken room temp) 1/3 Cup (66.6g) Swerve Confectioners Sugar ...

Well, I tried meats for my lunch today, while fine for breakfast I think I should still keep them out for that late lunch. I was vomiting 7 hours after eating and it was pretty rancid. But a week without shows this is still the right route. Yeah, I started the 12 hours thing in January, I gave up my nighttime snack and started 5-5 eating and not eating...

Starches and sugars make me sick, I do best on a high protein and high-fat diet. I also do best with a mostly plant-based fat and protein diet. IF your getting bloating from sugars/starches it could also be SIBO. I would look into digestive enzymes, if you do not have the enzymes to break down certain foods they will make you feel sick, you can also...

Well, I had a positive health turn around with something new. I was doing some reading on intermittent fasting, Various benefits, for staying in keto, allowing your body to focus on building muscle and healing instead of digestion, detoxing, burning fat effectively etc. I was honestly scared I would waste away but that was not the case. I...

Unsure about where you are, but in the US colleges, businesses, etc. Have to accommodate disabilities and conditions legally. With a medical Diagnosis on file, talk to the coordinator for housing. Might get you your own room, or find someone else with celiac to room with. Shared microwaves, great thing about that nordiware...the splatter covers cover...

Nordicware Microwave Cookware, microwave, mini fridge, and a Rubbermaid tub to do dishes in. What I used in a shared house and take with me on trips when I travel. They make omelet makers, steamers, bacon cookers, grill plates with splatter covers, rice cookers, etc I also use the omelet makers in at home when the stove/oven are being used, it is quick...
