    Surgical masks will NOT stop smells from coming through. They're designed to stop germs and solid particles, not smells. The vast majority of people with celiac have absolutely no need for a surgical mask, but it's certainly your choice. Masks are common in some societies, particularly in Asia. richard

    Call the company to be sure, but in 10 years I have yet to find a turkey that isn't gluten-free, unless it's been pre-stuffed. The "flavoring" is most likely turkey flavor, possibly rosemary. richard

    Good idea. Apparently mine was incredibly obvious because my dermatologist, who is no celiac expert, took one look and knew what it was. I never even had a skin biopsy. Unfortunately, he didn't know at the time about the celiac connection to DH. richard

    Uhh, saintmaybe, you seemed to have been asking us if in our experience this looked like DH. I make no pretense that I can diagnose you in a photo, but like it or not, this looks absolutely nothing AT ALL like the DH I had for 20 years. Not even close. Mine looked like the guy showing us his elbow, although not quite that severe. richard

    Generally speaking an allergy wouldn't so much come and go. Celiac is not an allergy, however, and for many of us, symptoms came and went for years on end. richard

    I realize this thread is a year old but I was searching for wasabi and ran across it. The S&B powder mentioned in this thread as containing wheat in fact would APPEAR to be gluten-free.     Sounds like foodfacts isn't too reliable. As noted, SOME Doritos have gluten, but not from MSG or artificial color (never found gluten in artificial colors). richard
