Exactly! If they didn't think we were nuts before this would really do it.

I think everyone is so funny and I can't believe some of the stuff everyone came up with. It makes me laugh

I had a vision of myself as the "Rachelville Greeter" standing on a float, you know like one of those parade floats, and it had been hitched up to the back of one of Andrea's husband's trucks, driving me back and forth through Rachelville, and I had one of those beauty pageant perma-grins and a robotic hand wave. The geese would fly over head and I would say don't worry don't be scared, those are just the protective auxigro detecting geese. Hello, and Welcome to Rachelville.

LMAO...Oooops that was a typo.

I meant to say "testing". :P

That would be pretty damn gross if I had to taste my samples!

I knew it was a typo, but I just couldn't help myself. It was too good to pass up!

I have to go to bed now. Y'all have worn me out. G'night to all.

Celia,

I had a b12 injection and brought more home to do but I had my regular doctor do a blood draw and see what my levels were. She said they were normal but I've read other posts that normal differs. I really need to call and see what the number was. My point is, the doctor I saw for my allergy testing and the b12 presription gave me the injection so I could see how it was done (since I was going to do them at home). You need to go real slow with the injection or it does hurt. It barely bothered me at all. Slow is the trick.

Glad the rest of your appointment went so well. Good job and a pat on the back for you....or a hug if you prefer hugs over pats on the back. :P

Rachel,

Has it be almost a month already for your new med? I hope all goes well with your check back test.

Miamia,

Keep us posted on how the new med does for you as well. That's great that your doctor is letting you go on it.

Susan,

Doesn't sound like you had much fun with c-diff. I never heard of it till I came on this site.

Good Morning/Afternoon all depending on where you live. :P

Evie,

Hope and pray for good news today for your husband.

Donna,

Sounds reasonable to me. Also if you go off refined sugar and reduce all sugar intake you'll have the added benefit of weight loss. I lost 18 pounds doing that a few years ago.

I just got home and the new meds are here I am going to take the first one tonight - I am excited. Its been a very long time since I actually wanted to take anything its very weird for me.

God I hate that I have also reaped the benefits of weight lloss. I need to gain!!!!

I decide to get off of the forum for a couple hours and I come back to this!.!.!.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Back to the fun of Rachelville. Julie, that's classic, you pratice that wave now. I want horses in Rachelville. Haven't been able to afford any here. I would also need to relearn how to ride. I rode a couple times about 4 years ago, before that it had probably been at least 10 years. They say you never forget how to ride a bike. The same could be said of horses...but I beg to differ. My balance is not anywhere near what it used to be...maybe because it's not my horse. Bikes, well last time I rode a bike was about 7-8 years ago, easy enough to ride, it was remembering to apply both brakes instead of one. We put the bikes in storage at a church members house and they wound up getting sold. They weren't very expensive, but we haven't replaced them and have nowhere to ride anyway.

Back on topic. Ummmmm, Talitha is still doing okay on her off rice challenge. I sure hope this isn't something we have to avoid with her all the time. She doesn't like meat hardly at all, or vegetables. Since we found Lara bars she may not miss her enjoy life snickerdoodle cookies so much. I'm beginning to hate food allergies and we aren't even allergic to half of what a lot of you are dealing with here. :(

OMG Julie...you crack me up!!

Ahem...yes....our geese here in Rachelville have many duties to perform. They are very "protective" and serve their purpose of keeping our town free of not only the nasty Auxigro...but all other "nasties" that may try to infiltrate the sanctitude of our cult farm. :D

I'm sorry Celia. That wasn't a very kind thing to say. :o She's probably jealous that you have so many friends on this forum...and friends that understand what you're going through or at least are understanding even if they don't. :P Rachelville is a great community! :D:lol:

Ah--The Island of Misfit Toys! I love that show--I've watched it almost every Christmas season since I was a child! Don't forget that at the end, the toys get all fixed up, like new and are then delivered to the girls and boys. So, it is like us--we're all going to get well and get on with our lives!! :D But still be friends :)

Celia--my twin is not a misfit!

Awwww...Celia, she just doesnt know. We're nothing like the "Island of Misfits"....we are so much better than that. I mean really....did the Island of Misfits have all the luxuries we have here in Rachelville? I dont think so. Did they have a town greeter who waves so enthusiastically while protective geese fly above her? I dont think so. Did they have the perfect 85 degree weather we have here...with koalas living in the trees and snow only on Xmas? I think Not!

Puleeeeze....its so very obvious that she's jealous of our paradise cult farm...who wouldnt be!

:) Hi evie, will send up prayers for your dear hubby too. That hosta sounds heavenly btw-do you know the name? The one I am trying to "bring back to life" is called "So Sweet" hosta and it only will get about 14" diameter. The flowers were so pure white and delicate-just like a mini daylily. Have a great day everyone!!

Morning, morning everyone,

I have to leave in about 20 min for the doctor but still wanted to read what I missed and a big howdy! :)

I always get all nervous everytime I go to the doctor... is there a phobia for doctor's visits?

Given my current distrust of doctors' abilities to use their brains, not to mention how frequently they tend to CONSCIOUSLY intimidate their patients, I'd call it, "common sense...."

YEAH!! I want to be the choo choo train with square wheels okay?

I check this thread ocassionally, but haven't posted because it's hard to keep up with. I'd bet your friend meant nothing bad. I often have a self-deprecating humor, so I might have said something like this if I had the creativity to think of it ... I thought it was funny!

I'm sorry you took it badly ... that's the part that's not funny. I can actually relate to the misfit toys ... they don't work quite right, neither do I. I'm just glad that they didn't put all of us out on some island somewhere!! Eating gluten-free sometimes has that effect though ... Oh, I can't eat there, can we go somewhere else? Oh, not there either ...

I was probably being over sensitive, I have been lately... don't know why.

Oh, we can have lots of excuses for that. :D I do the same thing ...

Okay... I got my knickers in a knot....

Talking to my girlfriend on the phone and was just gabbing and I laughed and talked a little about Rachelville, all the funny things everyone was saying... and you know what she said to me?????

I got my feelings hurt....

She said, "Sounds like the "Island of Misfits" from Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer"

I'm with Rachel, I think she is simply jealous of our wonderful life in Rachelville. And Rachel I loved your description of our little community.

I'm sorry you're feelings were hurt Celia. I am learning that I can't really convey to anyone what it is like to come upon a community of people who share my struggle with wellness. I think what we are doing here is important, we are not only sharing information which is helping us but just as importantly we are playing and we are laughing, laughing is healing.

WE love you Celia! :P

If we get to pick toys I want a horse. :D:lol:

Holy cow, I had just written this whole long post, and lost it, about how INSANELY funny you all are.....needed to come back to R-ville for a good laugh...I see the loony bin is still going strong.....

No time to re-construct my post - - - was with family all day, my bro's MIL died after such a long and terrible struggle with cancer - she weighed 72 lbs in the end....so there is almost a sense of peace finally...Patti, you pm'd Lynne, and guess what, made my day to get a call from our friend in Kentucky, this board is amazing.

Rachel - - our "paradise cult farm":lol: a particularly amusing description!! Celia, your friend surely is jealous......

Julie - - you on the float - - -:lol: I had rather pictured you at the front gates of R-ville, handing out pamphlets and smiling, with sort of an airport scanner device to detect gluten in visitors (oh wait, that would be security)...dont' forget about the DINGOS helping the auxigro-sniffing geese.....

Evie - - such good news about y our hubby!

Cissie - - you wrote somethign hilarious I wanted to address and can't remember.....

I had such a great day with my family, and am in fact goign back now. They live just two miles away, I intentionally moved this close to them to re-establish connections.

Anybody know if honebaked ham is okay to eat? am goign back over and it looked SO Good.......

glad to see the mayhem continues.....we are all nuts, are we not?

AndreaB Contributor

Miamia and Rachel,

Please continue to keep us updated. It's exciting to have a med that can help you two out, as well as others.

Vincent,

This can't be a nuthouse....some people on this thread have allergies or intolerances to nuts. Can everyone eat some form of fruit....then we could be the fruithouse, or fruitcakes if you prefer.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Celiac and dermatitis herpetiformis after years of suffering without answers. I lost my mind. I lost my job. I lost so much time. I lost Me. Conventional doctors are opulent come near me and the one who did sat across the room, misdiagnosed me, pumped me full of steroids which collapsed my entire hip for 6 months. So without answers I began my holistic journey. Fast forward a couple of years and still struggling with a mysterious whole body itchy, crawling “skin hell”, perfect teeth now deteriorating, thick hair now thinning rapidly and no more than a day or 2 at most relief….An acquaintance opened up a functional medicine practice. Cash only, I found a way. Within a month tests clearly showing my off the charts gluten allergy/sensitivity as well as the depletion of vital nutrients due to leaky gut and intestinal damage. dermatitis herpetiformis was more than likely what I was experiencing with my skin. I was happy. I thought this is easy, eat healthy Whole Foods, follow the diet restrictions and I finally get to heal and feel confident and like myself again very soon! 😔 Supplements are very pricey but I got them and began my healing. Which leads to the other major issue: not working, stay at home Mom of young kids, entirely financially dependent on my man of 7 plus years. He’s never been supportive of anything I’ve ever done or been thru. He controls everything. I’m not given much money ever at a time and when he does leave money it’s only enough to possibly get gas. His excuse is that I’ll spend it on other things. So my “allowance” is inconsistent and has conditions. He withholds money from me as punishment for anything he wants. Since being diagnosed, he’s gained a new control tactic to use as punishment. He now is in control of when I get to eat. He asked for proof of my diagnosis and diet bc he said I made it up just to be able to eat expensive organic foods. Then after I sent him my file from my doctor he then said she wasn’t a real doctor. 😡. I go days upon days starving, sometimes breaking down and eating things I shouldn’t bc I’m so sick then I pay horribly while he gets annoyed and angry bc I’m not keeping up with all the duties I’m supposed to be doing. His abuse turns full on when I’m down and it’s in these desperate times when I need his support and care the most that I’m punished with silence, being starved, ignored, belittled. He will create more of a mess just bc I’m unable to get up and clean so that when I am better, I’m so overwhelmed with chores to catch up that the stress causes me to go right back into a flare from hell and the cycle repeats. I’m punished for being sick. I’m belittled for starving and asking for healthy clean water. I’m purposely left out of his life. He won’t even tell me he’s going to the grocery or to get dinner bc he doesn’t want me to ask him for anything. I have no one. I have nothing. Im not better. My supplements ran out and I desperately need Vitamin D3 and a methylated B complex at the very minimal just to function….he stares at me blankly…no, a slight smirk, no words. He’s happiest when im miserable and I am miserable.  this is so long and im condensing as much as I can but this situation is so complicated and disgusting. And it’s currently my life. The “IT” girl, the healthy, beautiful, perfect skin, perfect teeth, thick and curly locks for days, creative and talented IT girl….now I won’t even leave this house bc Im ashamed of what this has dont to my body, my skin. Im disgusted. The stress is keeping me from healing and I think he knows that and that’s why he continues to keep me in that state. He doesn’t want me confident or successful. He doesn’t want me healed and healthy bc then how would he put the blame of all his problems on me? This journey has been hell and I’ve been in Hell before. I’ve been killed by an ex, I’ve been raped, robbed, held hostage, abused beyond nightmares but the cruelty I’ve experienced from him bc of this disease is the coldest I’ve ever experienced. I’ve wanted to give up. Starving and in tears, desperate…I found a local food pantry in our small town so I reached out just saying I had Celiac and was on hard times. This woman is blessing me daily with prepared gluten free meals, donations, educational info, people who know this disease and how they manage life and the blessings just keep coming. But it’s overwhelming and I feel like I don’t deserve it at all. He just glared and I know he’s going to sabotage it somehow. I don’t even know what to do anymore. I’m so broken and just want peace and healing.

@Colleen H   I am just curious,  when you were tested for coeliac disease, did the doctors find out if you had any deficiencies? Sometimes muscle pain can be caused by certain deficiencies, for example, magnesium, vitamin D, calcium, and potassium.   Might be worth looking into having some more tests.  Pins and needles can be neuropathy, again caused by deficiencies, such as iron and B12,  which can be reversed if these deficiencies are addressed. In the UK where I live we are usually only tested for iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies at diagnosis.   I was very iron anemic and supplementation made a big difference.  B12 was low normal, but in other countries the UK's low normal would be considered a deficiency.  My vitamin D was low normal, and I've been supplementing ever since (when I remember to take it!) My pins and needles definitely started to improve when my known deficiencies were addressed.  My nutritionist also gave me a broad spectrum supplement which really helped, because I suspect I wasn't just deficient in what I mention above but in many other vitamins and minerals.  But a word of warning, don't take iron unless blood tests reveal you actually need it, and if you are taking it your levels must be regularly monitored because too much can make you ill.  (And if you are currently taking iron, that might actually be making your stomach sore - it did mine, so my GP changed my iron supplementation to a gentler form, ferrous gluconate). Lastly, have you been trying to take anything to lessen the pain in your gut?  I get a sore stomach periodically, usually when I've had too much rich food, or when I have had to take an aspirin or certain antibiotics, or after glutening.  When this happens, I take for just a few days a small daily dose of OTC omeprazole.  I also follow a reflux or gastritis diet. There are lots online but the common denominators to these diets is you need to cut out caffeine, alcohol, rich, spicy, acidic food etc and eat small regularly spaced meals.   When I get a sore stomach, I also find it helpful to drink lots of water.  I also find hot water with a few slices of ginger very soothing to sip, or camomile tea.  A wedge pillow at night is good for reflux. Also,  best not to eat a meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. If the stomach pain is getting worse, though, it would be wise to see the doctor again. I hope some of this helps. Cristiana
