And I quite agree . . . they owe you a HUGE debt of gratitude! I'm sure their sales SKYROCKETED because of you . . . . . . Perhaps STOCK?????

Is Wally Schirra still around? He's the former astronaut that did the Sudafed (nasal decongestant) commercials in the states back in the 70's and 80's...He would be my choice as pitchman. He has "experience" as both a pitchman and as an astronaut in diapers.

Wally Shirra...Wally Shirra...doesn't ring a bell. I'm thinking more of a talk-show host type, floating around and smiling confidently...Howie Mandell? Regis Philbin?

When we went to Russia to get our son, the orphanage's public restroom (it was also a public health care facility), had old magazine pages for TP. We eventually found the employee rest room that had somewhat more familiar looking TP even though it would never sell here due to the texture. We had heard this, so we brought two rolls from home. Our 10 year old and 8 year old went with us. Our 8 year old dropped one roll in the toilet!!! :o He had to use Russian TP for the rest of the trip!!! :lol: Maybe we should mail all our old instructions over there! They'll find good use for the envelope, too!

Wow, magazine pages?...and Ive been complaining because it's been two months since I've seen a toilet seat cover (I really miss toilet seat covers...)

This is rather easily explained..... normal TP in Russia is used for official documents (I kid you not) ....

Ive spent a long time reading older Russian papers and the best quality you usually get is best described as TP....

Hey -- it's true . . . . I don't know if she did it PERSONALLY -- meaning through personal sales, but if you see a picture of her husband, he looks VERY HAPPY. I do know, however, that through the threads in which she has enlightened many a celiac, a new-found interest in Altoids was certainly begun. For the record: I NEVER participated in, nor condoned these posts!!! :lol::lol::lol::P:P:P:P:P:P Gotcha, Karen!!

Magazine pages :huh::blink:

Maybe telephone directory pages, but I would stear clear of those heavy glossy pages - no paper cuts for me - thank you very much! :o

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

I thought about that whole issue of paper cuts, myself. . . . especially when Envelopes were mentioned. OUCH. It hurts when you get a paper-cut on your tongue sealing the envelope (although now I don't lick the envelopes because of possible gluten in the glue). A paper cut anywhere else from an envelope, particularly in the "nether-regions" -- well, that would just be awful.

This post has the potential to get me in soooooo much trouble... you don't understand, I think i have bitten clear through my tongue...must...not...post :ph34r:

Talk to Karen . . . it's all her fault!!!

Well, you ought to start buying Russian made products so that the instructions are made from the right kind of paper for you. :lol:

Wow, magazine pages?...and Ive been complaining because it's been two months since I've seen a toilet seat cover (I really miss toilet seat covers...)

I always use the tp ...

I actually was so excited to get to the American Embassy to use a real toilet. The Russian toilets have a little shelf out of the water where the business sits till you flush ... no wonder Communism fell ... they just wanted real toilets with water to cover the stinky stuff!!

Now there is a set up that I'm not even going to touch!

Yea, notice, the only two people who commented on this were both men ... looks like you did "touch" the setup.

jerseyangel Proficient

Years ago, I went to Austria, and their toilets were the same way! No water until it flushed--I had forgotten all about that :D

As I remember, the toilet paper was fine, though.

NOT true :P Unless your calling "tiredofdoctors!!! " a man :P

What is it about this subject that seems to attract everybody :lol::o:ph34r:

Well, I am tall, but not to get graphic, but all my parts are original "lady parts" :lol::lol::lol:

THANKS A LOT, CARLA. :angry::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Which subject?

I can only imagine what the "lurkers" think! :huh:

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

If they're "lurkers", then they need to get gutsy like us and actually get a user name . . . . . .

If we're willing to put it out there, they need to 'fess up that they're reading it!!

CarlaB Enthusiast

Her comment was not in the same spirit that the men's comments were ... hers was that Karen did help their stock ... the men had a completely different thing on their mind. Don't worry about the lurkers, they're clueless and won't ask!!

tiredofdoctors Enthusiast

I agree completely, Carla. . . . and the men? They're only thought, "If I bring home a new tin tonight, could I possibly talk the Mrs. . . . . . . . . . . . " :lol::lol::lol::lol::ph34r:

Y'all just jealous cause , UNLIKE KAREN most of you are to embarrased to admit you thought about it more hten once...

(though your wrong in this case, cause "Mrs" and I will be apart to night take care of different responsilbities.)

TriticusToxicum Explorer

Now I've got to admit that i heard the Altoid "legend" prior to getting here, but the way I heard it, the parties involved had exchanged responsibilities... :ph34r:

Now who's looking for a tin?

Oh hey, look at the time, I gotta run!

      Is there a minimum time since diagnosis of refractory celiac disease?  I really hope I’m not eligible for your study, but looking for it is one reason my gastroenterologist suggested an endoscopy. I’m having it later this month, due to still having GI symptoms on a strict gluten free diet.
    • xxnonamexx
      There's a company called thistle subscription based food completely gluten free plant based. They offer juices, juice shots. I was wondering has anyone made their own juices shots for anti inflammatory gut healthy juices etc?
    • xxnonamexx
      If you prepare gluten free and eat  gluten free but feel stomach pains hours later what makes it gluten contamination vs. something else you may have ate etc? anything to differentiate in symptoms? Thanks
    • MelissaClinPsyD
      Anyone diagnosed with Refractory Coeliac Disease can participate (they do not need to be in the UK but would need to be able to speak and understand English as the intervention is facilitated in English language)
    • Scott Adams
      Is this only for those in the UK, or can anyone diagnosed with celiac disease participate?
