  1. If you look at the package shots here: https://www.samsclub.com/p/members-mark-beef-franks-12pack/prod22120582 it does say "Gluten-Free" on the label.
  2. The problem with Kratom is that it is linked to liver damage, so the risks of using it far outweigh the benefits. This is from the Mayo Clinic: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/consumer-health/in-depth/kratom/art-20402171
  3. You can also search this site for prescription drugs: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
  4. H-E-B is voluntarily issuing an all-store recall for half gallon H-E-B Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream due to an undeclared allergen. The products contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction...
  5. Not sure if you saw the comment above yours:
  6. I agree, and given that you have two high blood test results for celiac disease, you likely have it, especially given your symptoms. Has your doctor discussed your results with you yet?
  7. I've never taken vitamin D strictly for my bone health, which apparently is quite good. For me vitamin D seems to help a lot with eliminating the run down feeling that I had prior to adding it to my regular supplementation. I do think getting it naturally via sun exposure might work for you, but I often don't get regular sun exposure, especially during the...
  8. Although it sounds counter-intuitive, some research has shown that reflux can be caused by low stomach acid, rather than high stomach acid. Many doctors, almost reflexively now, prescribe PPI's for reflux, and in such cases this makes the issues worse.
  9. For those with neurological issues I recommend taking a multi B-vitamin complex, and Benfotiamine: Since my diagnosis in my mid-twenties I had ataxia issues in my feet, numbness and tingling, and in the last 5 years higher fasting blood glucose levels, just below the cut off range for diabetes. I always took a B-complex, but it wasn't until I started...
  10. As for the different breads, this topic might be helpful. Costco carries packs of 2 frozen gluten-free pizzas that are good, as well as 2 packs of gluten-free loaves of bread (Franz), and Trader Joe's carries lots of GF products that are good, including hamburger buns. This thread might be helpful:
  11. I don’t think anyone here would recommend that someone with celiac disease eat any gluten, but polling has shown that perhaps 25% of celiacs do cheat on their diets. I suspect that those who do this may be more in the asymptotic group, but this isn’t clear. If you go this route I would recommend follow up blood panels and endoscopes to monitor possible dam...
  12. After all testing is done and your doctor recommends that you go gluten-free, this article may be helpful:
  13. If you eat out consider GliadinX enzymes, which break down gluten in the stomach before it reaches the intestines. They are a sponsor here, but I’ve been taking them for years before I eat out just in case there might be some contamination and I haven’t had issues.
  14. Please search the ingredients of any prescription medications here: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
  15. We've summarized some research articles here which may be helpful: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/celiac-disease-amp-related-diseases-and-disorders/growth-hormone-deficiency-and-celiac-disease/ This article may be helpful, since he was only recently diagnosed:
  16. This is very interesting and I wish I could test eggs from wheat-fed chickens with my Nima Sensor. I've heard that eggs are always safe, no matter what they eat, however, I've never seen any actual study or testing that has been done to verify this claim.
  17. I would take 3, one right before each course. There seems to be no upper limit with how many you can take at once, within reason of course. I've been traveling and was in a place where they told me to forget about doing anything special with preparing my food (there was nothing else around for many miles), so I took 5 there (everything was cooked on the same...
  18. It is possible, and even possible that you've got another auto-immune issue going on...once you have one, you are more likely to get another. I read somewhere that around 20% of people get long covid, which usually goes away after a few months, but in some people it can last years, and maybe never go away. Be sure to check with your doctor about your...
  19. I'm not sure you need a formal diagnosis if you already know you can't have any gluten. Is there any reason why you're wanting an official diagnosis? Getting one can lead to higher private life and health insurance premiums...for life!
  20. Wow, thank you for sharing this!! I'm pretty sure that the Lactaid brand was always considered gluten-free, and now it might not be!
  21. I agree, if you are going the testing route you should keep eating gluten daily--they actually recommend two slices of wheat-bread's worth. Since you mother has this it does put you at a much higher risk for it.
  22. Given how you describe that you "felt like death" after you ate gluten, I think you have your answer, and probably should just stay gluten-free, unless you need a diagnosis to keep yo on a gluten-free diet for life. Some people do. This article may be helpful:
  23. It is certainly possible, and I eat out regularly as well, but I do take GliadinX (they are an advertiser here, but don't pay me to post about the product), which is an AN-PEP enzyme that has been shown in multiple studies to break down trace amounts of gluten/gliadin in the stomach, before it reaches your intestines. I used to get issues eating out, but...
