  1. The product is gluten-free, or it could not be labelled as such, and they have been using gluten-free wheat starch in products made in Europe for decades. If you are super sensitive you probably should avoid it, but I think it is fair for celiacs to have the choice of including it in their diets or not. I personally have been buying it and have not had any...
  2. The general rule of thumb is that many of the risks associated with celiac disease decrease in time after going gluten-free, and some of the disorders that you may already have may also go away over time as well. Over years gluten-free the risks of many associated disorders drop to near zero, provided you stay 100% glutenf-ree.
  3. I am not sure about a NYC dentist. Regarding Tarterend Toothpaste, its ingredients look gluten-free, and carrageenan is on our safe list:
  4. Also, keep in mind that ~1% of the population in Europe and the USA have celiac disease, while up to ~12% have gluten sensitivity (non-celiac gluten sensitivity), and currently there isn't a diagnostic test for NCGS. My guess is that you are in this spectrum.
  5. Welcome to the forum! Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease, or are you self diagnosed? It may be a bit late, but this article may be helpful:
  6. Yes, your doctor should have mentioned this to you, but if you have your original results it would be interesting to compare the two tests. This would likely show how well you've adhered to a gluten-free diet.
  7. If it was a celiac disease blood panel, your doctor was incorrect, and you must eat gluten daily for 6-8 weeks before a test for it to be accurate. The only way you could get re-tested would be doing this again, and eating gluten daily for at least that long, but 12 weeks may be required: In your case it doesn't sound like a safe thing to do, so I wouldn...
  8. On their site they do say their products are free of gluten: https://gothink.com/products/thinkbaby-safe-sunscreen-spf-50-6oz-family-size-95
  9. It all sounds a bit like my experience trying out my custom food allergy diet, which I'll be writing an article about shortly, and I too was unable to manage being both gluten-free, plus all the foods I am supposed to be avoiding according to my test results. Adding more layers on an already restrictive diet is indeed diffucult. Others have written about...
  10. I've heard people waiting a week or two for their results, but can't really think of why it might take longer. I have Kaiser and they come back with nearly all test results remarkably fast, normally the same week, or a few days later.
  11. Others in the forum have definitely brought up this topic, and here are some of those threads: https://www.celiac.com/search/?&q=color poop&type=forums_topic&search_and_or=and
  12. Celiac.com 05/13/2021 - If you're looking for an easy way to enjoy a great gluten-free summer, here's a quick and easy guide. From ice cream and snacks to alcoholic beverages and candy, here's a list of great gluten-free products for summer...
  13. Celiac.com 05/13/2021 - Farm Boy Company Inc. is recalling Farm Boy The Bake Shop brand Tres Leches Cake from the marketplace because it contains wheat which is not declared on the label. People who have an allergy to wheat, or have celiac disease or other gluten-related disorders should not consume the recalled product described below. Brand Product Size UPC Codes Farm...
  14. Welcome to the forum @Skinny.! You are talking about a fruit smoothie diet. Get a good blender and make your own, and you probably need to add protein powder and other things. There are lots of recipes online.
  15. Welcome to the forum @ViolaRose. Are you on a gluten-free diet due to a celiac disease diagnosis?
  16. Yes, in many instances of disorders that are related to celiac disease there is a recommendation to screen for celiac disease, for example if you have thyroid or liver issues, but unfortunately most doctors don't routinely test for it.
  17. This is an older article, but still valid "In summary, the tTG ELISA is measuring the same thing that the endomysial IFA is measuring but with a method that is more sensitive and specific and not subject to interpretation. IgA class Reticulin antibodies are found only in Celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis.":
  18. Bob's Red Mill makes some good mixes, as does Authentic Foods. Also, we have an extensive recipe section here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-recipes/
  19. Let us know when you find out more info!
  20. So to clarify, I would have him go gluten-free even if his test results say that he doesn't have celiac disease. As mentioned, from everything you've shared here, he likely has gluten sensitivity.
  21. Celiac.com 05/12/2021 - Some types of intestinal inflammation or autoimmune disease can increase markers for celiac disease. A number of reports have suggested that intestinal infections may cause celiac disease to develop in certain people...
  22. Welcome to the forum! I too have never seen an "intermediate" category for TTG results. Based on everything you've shared, I would say that at the very least he's got non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS) for which there is no current diagnostic tests. It's pretty clear that he's having an autoimmune reaction to gluten, and according to his results a...
  23. Hi Kristi and welcome to the forum! I have a few thoughts that may be helpful. One is that I take GliadinX enzymes (disclosure, they are a sponsor of this site) before I eat out, just in case there is cross-contamination. I still do the things that @trents mentioned, like talking to the wait staff or sometimes the chef, but after I started with this...
