Questions and concerns
Scott Adams replied to Makky's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't think it would make any sense to get the endoscopy 4 weeks from now if you've already been gluten-free for a while. If you can't push it up sooner than you may want to cancel it, but it could still provide useful information on the condition of your gut, if you are concerned about that. Getting it sooner would be a better option, and you're already... -
Can COVID-19 Pandemic Increase Diabetes and Celiac Disease?
Scott Adams commented on Scott Adams's article in Latest Research
You're free to make your own choice about this, but be sure to also weigh in the risks of getting covid-19 with your current chronic health issues, as the negative health consequences, up to and including death, are very well known and studied now, and are far greater than any risk of side effects with any of the vaccines.- 6 comments

Do these symptoms fit?
Scott Adams replied to alittle's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi @Dianasolvei, welcome to the forum! If I were pre-diabetic I would go on a paleo diet. Everything I've read on this points to too many carbs & sugar. Being gluten-free if you are gluten sensitive of celiac could also help improve your blood sugar. -

Sweet Baby Ray's Bbq Sauce
Scott Adams replied to cmbajb's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sweet Baby Ray's does make the "gluten-free" claim on many of their sauces on their web site, but it looks to be a work in progress, so hopefully any issues will be resolved soon: https://www.sweetbabyrays.com/FAQ -
Seronegative 5 year old?
Scott Adams replied to Karly's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree with @trents and would keep him on a gluten-free diet, and after a year on the diet get another endoscopy done to see if his villi recovered. He should also be checked for vitamin/mineral deficiencies, as they go hand in hand with damaged villi, and he likely needs supplements. I would also get the genetic test for celiac disease markers if possible... -

Seronegative 5 year old?
Scott Adams replied to Karly's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome to the forum! Something you mentioned confuses me: So can I assume that they did a blood test and said he didn't have celiac disease? If so, can you get and share those blood test results with us? Also, celiac disease can be diagnosed with blood tests, and/or via endoscopy--flattened villi. If he had "total villous atrophy" at any... -

I took a look at their Web site FAQ and it says: https://hukitchen.helpdocs.io/article/xsjbgdextv-are-all-of-your-products-gluten-free So I doubt they would contain any gluten. Certified products must be below 10ppm. Could it be the high cocoa level in this? In some people, cocoa can trigger IBS-like symptoms.

Keep in mind here that nothing on this forum should replace the medical advice from your doctor, and you should discuss this with them before doing it. I think if you approach them with the idea of trying a different approach for a couple of months because the current one isn't working for you they might agree that such a short term test would not be a bad...

Probiotics
Scott Adams replied to SophieB333's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
After reading through their site it's doubtful that this product contains any gluten, but you are correct, as "no gluten added" is not the same as "gluten-free." You may want to call the company and see if it's made on lines shared to make other supplements, as cross-contamination could be a possibility. Certain probiotics can cause stomach issues in... -
Canker sores are a common symptom of celiac disease, and usually go away after months or longer on a 100% gluten-free diet. This article might be helpful: and here are other threads and articles on this topic: https://www.celiac.com/search/?q=canker&quick=1

The article is from a 2010 issue of our paper publication, so it's doubtful the author will respond.

If it's DH, do I have celiac disease?
Scott Adams replied to Baby Blues's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
If you have a good doctor that can accept that you have gluten sensitivity you should still be able to get a prescription for Dapsone if you need it, but you could always discuss this with your doctor beforehand. I agree that if you're convinced that gluten is the cause of your severe symptoms, and you feel great after going gluten-free, then there is no... -
