  1. Were you tested for parasites? Otherwise there is really no way to tell whats wrong. I would go back to the Doctor. Colleen
  2. And start a new thread with your question. This thread is done. If you happen to forget and pose your question in this thread, I will start a new one for you and move it myself. Threads need to be cohesive for future readers. Thanks Colleen
  3. Yes, what a week. My condolences for your Grandma, so hard to lose the ones we love. Good for Grandpa for getting out and about. Health wise you are doing great. I'm sure it feels good to get these tests ticked off the check list with good results. Gives great peace of mind. MRI's are a cake walk and your wont even know the capsule is snapping pics...
  4. Here is a comprehensive list of Histamine foods rated by amount of histamine that Ski gave out a while back. I as only foods labeled 0 or 1 for two weeks for a challenge. Good Luck Colleen
  5. You may want to start a new thread for your question. You will get more responses from the Community. Colleen
  6. A biopsy for DH must be taken next to an active lesion, no on the lesion itself. Have you seen a Dermatologist for your skin condition? You also must not be taking any steroids, orally or cream. You also need to eat gluten to keep the lesions are active. The DH version of Celiac is rarer than the intestinal version and probably should not be self...
  7. Most processed gluten free food has more sugar and empty calories. This is why we advise Celiac's to eat whole foods and stay away from processed foods. Colleen
  8. I'm glad you got all of that out of your system. Many of us have left a grocery story in tears in the beginning. But now its time to get serious and live gluten free if that's what you choose to do. Please keep in mind when you come back to the States later this year to see a Doctor that he will not be able to do any testing without a full gluten challenge...
  9. Hi Mary Ann, Read this thread, it will explain all the basics you need to be aware of. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ Good Luck, Colleen
  10. Hi Shannon and welcome. You should consider going thru with the endoscope and colonoscopy. And as suggested get your thyroid and nutritional values tested. At this point you know you can't have gluten and corn. I would advise against another challenge since the rash showed up. It could possibly be DH and is a skin form of Celiac and is diagnosed by...
  11. The OP has not been on the Forum since October of 2013. Always a good idea to check dates of threads. Colleen
  12. Hi Captain. You can post your results here or start a new topic. I would get tested for Lyme's, Lupus is probably unlikely as you would have a positive ANA and I'm assuming your Doc would have seen that with general blood work. I haven't read your history so excuse me if you've already covered that. I'm also assuming you have had nutritional testing...
  13. Many of us have had multiple autoimmune diagnoses before gluten-free. For myself, I had suspected lupus (with butterfly rash), sjogrens, reynolds, Fibro, sicca, connective tissue disease. Also had hip bursitis, peri-formis syndrome, sacroilitis...you get the picture. At one time or another I was also put on Plaquenil, Methotrexate, Steroids, Skin desensitizers...
  14. Hi POP, So sorry to hear about your Grand Parents but so typical late in life. I hope they are both comfortable. Sounds like testing is going smoothly, one foot in front of the other will get you through this part. An exclusive other? There's some happy news!! One more reason to keep your head screwed on tight You realize that some of us here...
  15. Dang Lisa. I'm freakin hooked Can't wait to show my son, he is REALLY good at wasting time
  16. Hang in there. It helps to know what your dealing with. Are you wearing compression stockings on your legs? I hope they have some good information for you at Stanford. I imagine things are looking kinda tough right now, but you can do this. We are here to support you!!. Please keep updating how your doing. Colleen
  17. I do hope you gals have appointments with a Dermatologist. Take pictures of active skin issues if your worried it won't be there for the appointment. You can still see if removing gluten helps with the condition but keep in mind that removing gluten is not a miracle fix for all problems. Good luck to you. Colleen
  18. A DH biopsy needs to be taken next to an active lesion, not the lesion itself. Is this how yours was biopsied? Colleen
  19. Im so glad you have kept pushing for answers and are getting them now. Good to hear you are feeling better and the parents are coming around. Things are definately looking up for you !! It's much easier to deal with challenges once you know what they are Colleen

  22. Wow Chilly, I had no idea the differences. Thank you for the explanation. This is certainly a keeper for my records. Thanks Again. Colleen
  23. Un-diagnosed Celiac Disease can cause a long painful degenerative effect on the body with organs shutting down and body functions shutting down. Wasting Disease, Serious Nutritional deficiencies and can also lead to more auto immune diseases and even cancer. it"s really not a hard choice to go gluten-free. Good Luck Colleen
  24. Question: What is the difference between Vegetarian and Vegan. I though a Vegan was a car. Colleen
  25. I feel it before my dinner is over. Takes the question work right out of the equation. Colleen
