Be sure to bring this up with your doctor, as there is always the possibility that you've got other issues besides celiac disease.

If all testing is now completed you may want to let your doctor know that you are starting a gluten-free diet. If you symptoms go away on the diet it is further confirmation that you may have celiac disease, and/or non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a...

As long as the B Comlex is gluten-free, it should be helpful to you, especially since you're recently diagnosed and your villi are in the recovery process. You may need to look at further supplements as well, and it's a good idea for your doctor to check levels for many nutrients to see what deficiencies you might have. The most common nutrient deficiencies...

How long ago were you diagnosed? There are many symptoms and issues for those who are newly diagnosed, and recovery can take a while. This study indicates that a majority of celiacs don't recover until 5 years after diagnosis and starting a gluten-free diet: Mucosal recovery and mortality in adults with celiac disease after treatment with...

It’s not uncommon for people with celiac disease, especially those undiagnosed for a long time, to experience lasting digestive issues even after going gluten-free. The damage caused by years of inflammation in the small intestine can sometimes lead to other conditions like delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis), acid reflux, or food intolerances. Staying u...

@EricaFilpi, please tell us more about your recovery...did you need to take iron infusions or supplements? What other supplements are you taking? I'll assume you've been gluten-free since August. -
Definitely share your skin lymphoma suspicion with your doctor, as they can run some simple tests to determine the cause. You also should bring up and treat your iron levels, as they can contribute to frailty.

I lean towards very probably celiac disease due to the two positive tTg-IgA blood tests. Although there are other things that might cause this test to be elevated in certain individuals, the most likely cause by far would be gluten sensitivity. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms...

Keep in mind that Dapsone can have some serious side effects, so be sure to look into those before you start using it. More about that is here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/dapsone-oral-route/description/drg-20063327 -
Gluten Ataxia and Malabsorption
Scott Adams replied to Soleihey's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It took me 2-3 years to feel like my gut recovered, and then I still had gluten ataxia issues for well over a decade. This study indicates that a majority of celiacs don't recover until 5 years after diagnosis and starting a gluten-free diet: Mucosal recovery and mortality in adults with celiac disease after treatment with a gluten-free... -

Orgain Protein Powder
Scott Adams replied to 20021979's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've not tried the product, but it is definitely possible that it contains barley and wheat grass, and is gluten-free. I would imagine that they are regularly testing their product for gluten content, since they are making the claim that their product is gluten-free. I personally avoid these ingredients, but some celiacs do consume them without issues. PS... -
Welcome back! Many celiac patients navigating perimenopause or menopause consider estrogen therapy, and there’s growing research highlighting its potential benefits. Estrogen has been shown to reduce certain health risks associated with menopause, such as cardiovascular disease, particularly in post-menopausal women. This is significant since studies suggest t...

Irregular periods AFTER going gluten-free?
Scott Adams replied to Blue Roan's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
It’s great to hear that you’re feeling better overall since going gluten-free, but I can understand how these new menstrual symptoms are frustrating and confusing. Hormonal fluctuations and changes in your cycle after a celiac diagnosis are not uncommon. When the body starts healing from prolonged inflammation and malabsorption, it can affect hormones, pa... -
Pure wheatgrass is gluten-free, however, there can be issues when they make it because the kernel/seeds can get mixed into the grass that is harvested, and then ground up in the powder. I've seen this firsthand when Jamba Juice used to cut the wheat grass in front of you (maybe they still do this), and put it in the juicer--they often included seeds that...
