Welcome Your story of possibly being miss dx'd is quite normal--- sad to say but normal.....I love the US but we are so far behind in the celiac world... I wish we were like Italy where as every child gets tested before kindergarden & food is very good & available & free..... You are on the right path. It does take some changes on your part...

Everyone has posted great thoughts & ideas... Has she been checked out for Crohn's yet? My neighbor's daughter has very similar bouts & she just got dx'd with crohns.. I will pray for you & yours daily for an answer.. blessings mamaw

Sorry you also have a family that talks food all the time. It is a social activity. I cart food with me wherever I go.. I sometimes get so tired of doing that but I have no choice. Whole Foods has a couple that are not bad in their bakery section. Any of the gluten-free bakers has usually good bread.. Against the grain gourmet has good rolls/buns for sandwiches. The grainless baker has a good rye bread.... Plus there are some mighty fine recipes on this site if you want to make your own breads/rolls. For mixes there are several that... -

If you look in this section a couple of posts before your post you will find someone else asked the same ?...... a couple people responded. For me I use Annalise Roberts flour blend with her cookbook recipes. Which is wonderful by the way. Betty Hageman four bean mix Betterbatter gluten free flour blend.... a one for one ratio...... Hello I use three flours that I love..... Betty hageman four bean flour,, Annalise Roberts blended flour from Authenic Foods.Or you can mix your own. She also has a wonderful cookbook I recommend called " Baking CLassics" it has wonderful cakes & much more..The other flour I use alot is Betterbatter flour already mixed . I use my old wheat recipes... -

I been to Ruby Tuesday's twice , both times I was glutened. The food was good tasting but I will not go there again.... they just don't get cc ..... in fact one server told me you can't get sick from food unless it is spoiled!!!!That did it for me..... mamaw

You & I have the same non-paid job!!!!! I have been doing the exact same thing helping others survive the wheat/gluten free world.I sometimes have to many to handle. Angie I know buffets are not good because of cc but awhile back someone told me that the Shady Maple Buffet had some gluten-free items . Do you know anything about them? I ate at Miller's several years ago --- just had the salad bar , rotissorie chicken ( which they said was ok) & ice cream.. thanks mamaw I can't believe how big the babe is...

I too love that store --it is a overnight trip for us...... Lauren & Beverly Fleming (the owners) are very nice ......They have a large selection so it is almost one stop shopping for gluten-free.... If anyone is going there ask them to carry Against the Grain rolls & baguettes. These are excellent..... The distributor for this is United Natural... -
I made pie crusts called Donna Jo's pastry dough & I was told it was from Betty Hageman. It made three single crusts & had butter crisco & oleo plus vinegar. This was the first time I tried this recipe. It was so easy to work with . I chilled my dough for about an hour or so. It states to refrigerate the dough for at least an hour or longer...

I agree with the others--- you need to stay away from wheat & gluten. There could be a silent internal war going on within your body that you don't know about....you are putting yourself in a danger zone...PLEASE do not partake of the wheat & gluten......... mamaw -

Hello I wish I could say everything will be fixed by going gluten-free but that is not always the case. I agree it can take 6months to two years or more .... but you must remember you didn't get to this point overnight either so it does take alot of time for our bodies to heal.. Please don't give up because all of a sudden you will start to notice changes...
