  1. Just an FYI- you are responding to a post from 2010.
  2. But that isn't possible. You have only made this thread and not commented on any other people's threads.
  3. Have you looked into who you would "report" her to & how that process works? Have you gotten copies of all your records from that doc? You might have better luck filing a malpractice suit if you have had side effects of the mis-diagnosis or prescribed treatment. Perhaps a more helpful thing to do would be to send the doctor some info about Celiac...
  4. Were you diagnosed with anything? Celiac? Because, if its not Celiac, then cutting out gluten might not be of any help.
  5. We tried to make some sense of this post and were able to fix a few parts into "quotes". But I am afraid it didn't help much. Sorry. I am not really sure if there is a question in there.
  6. It doesn't sound like you can do much about it. It sounds like, if it wasn't Celiac, it would be something else. Some people are just like that. JUst an FYI - There is no gluten in coffee. Not likely to be any in "flavoring" either.
  7. Yes. I moved out. Much easier to deal with from my own house on my own terms.
  8. Yep! That is why my plan is better! I can print you a piece of paper for much less money!
  9. I don't know what books you are getting. Be careful as some are a bit extreme or contain wrong info. And be careful of the nutritionist, too. some are great, but I keep hearing about the bad ones that say things like "eat whole wheat" or "you can't eat any grains". Really, the easiest thing is to go simple for a while & read labels.
  10. I like stuff that makes encores. That way, they can re-heat or re-whatever on their own. When M says "What's for lunch?" I can give him some answers. He can choose to go get Panda Express, but its not my fault..... we had chili and lasagna he could have.
  11. Testing under 20 ppm doesn't not mean the product has 19 ppm. It could have 2ppm or 0. If they had used a test for 10 ppm, it might have been negative, too.
  12. Share! Share! What flour did you use! All the details! We had crockpot lasagna for dinner last night. I might have put too much spinach in it as M started picking some of it out. He is normally so good about spinach inserted into recipes. I look at all these things people make but they just don't fit into my life. I have a kid and a hub that...
  13. Yep. That's what various doctors said at ICDS in Sept, too. ICDS - International Celiac Disease Symposium
  14. that is true! Normals eat all kinds of sketchy things and then wonder why they don't feel so great later that afternoon!
  15. We have had several threads about this. There has been no evidence that there is gluten in wine. No wine maker would let flour or any type of glue get into the wine. Also, many types & less expensive wines aren't even put into wooden barrels.

  17. Just a head's up - all of the info on this thread is about 4 years old. Ingredients can change in that amount of time. I have never seen a Schnapps with gluten - but, in all fairness, I have only looked at 2 brands. Swollen eyelids sounds more like an allergy than a Celiac reaction. I don't eat Mentos, so I don't know what is in them. If they contain...
  18. I don't eat out like a "normal person" But I do eat out occasionally. I go to places that I have found to be safe like - Bonefish, Outback, PF Changs, Pei Wei, MInsky's, California Pizza Kitchen, Beau Jo's, etc. I have gone to a couple of higher priced restaurants and done well there, too. I haven't tried Red Robin but they have good gluten-free practices...
  19. Actually...... The doll comes with the Deluxe package of 3 payments of $29.99. Or you can order it separately for just $34.99 plus S&H.
  20. She needs to keep eating gluten until all her testing is finished (including the endo). I wouldn't use Playdoh because it gets under your nails and all over. Too easy to accidentally get some on my mouth. There are gluten-free brands.
  21. Does this mean I am not getting $72.92 from you?
  22. I am as qualified as that dude is to give out these "certifications" and charge you all for continuing education credits to keep your "credential" every year. So, here's what I am prepared to offer: A special, 1 time offer for all current members of Celiac . com! Amaze your family and friends! You can become a Certified Gluten Free Voodoo Priestess ...
  23. I haven't found anything like a Saltine. These have a nice bland flavor that might be good in soup. They are not salty & are thick so might not melt well in soup. They do hold up well to cheese spreads or PB. They are more like an "oyster cracker" in taste I would think. They also have a "table cracker" that might be OK. I haven't tried them yet....
  24. Sorry if you feel that way. I'm not really into the " oh, you poor baby! Of course you have no choice but to harm yourself and eaten gluten". I have made a few suggestions- Take responsibility for your own food Bring food with you gluten-free food doesn't not have to be expensive - you do not have to buy " gluten-free" replacement foods. Find another...
