Good morning, Sillies!

Lisa! This sounds like an amazing rendezvous! Thank you so much for this generous invitation. October, eh?.......have to check this out.........

Out of Body Experience?....Wow. I could use me one 'o those......

I think I might be malnourished, part of the problem.

I think you may be, as well, Susie.... . .. .Lack of nutrition can do unbelievably negative things to our thoughts and mood. Eat, girl, eat! I know..... much more easily said than done, when there is a big ball of grief sitting in there - - feels like there just isn't any room..... .

I know you will get back to proper eating, as you heal! :)

Lisa,

Sounds great! I don't know if we'll be able to make it--planning on visiting family this fall, having a little work done on the house in late September/early October--so probably not. Thanks for the invite, though....it sounds like a lot of fun.

If anything changes, I'll let you know. Even if the houses are full, we could stay at the hotel, should things work out :)

Good Saturday morning, Sillies!!! :D

Ahhhh--got me some sleep last night  Hope we hear somephin from Gian-knit today or tomorrow.

Morning

Well Em and Patti are up.

I'm just getting moving.

Hope Janet checks in soon.

Are you still 'hanging alone' this weekend?

It's seems so chilly yet muggy here in Media.

Hugs all

Perhaps by October our staffing issues will have sorted out. We have two people in training, but at the moment at least one of us must be in the store at all times. We are training two people at the moment, so there is hope.

WOW Peter! I am so excited that there is hope.

Lisa - strong? :( I don't know about that.

when you realize that.......your dream is gone..........the person you THOUGHT you had is not only instantly yanked from your life under inconceivable circumstances but - turns into someone else (that's all I"ll say here)....the one from whom you were inseparable - gone......the love, fun, "security," perceived life together.........all gone.......... it's still gonna take me quite a bit of time to get over this one.

That's what strength is, cutie-pie. Being fully aware of how bad your life sucks at the moment, and still being willing to deal with it. Not all at once, of course, that's just not possible, but one by one you pull out the horrible strands, examine them, understand them and realize that these new, ugly flaws woven into your life are actually what make you strong and interesting. The superficial beauty of innocence doesn't last. It's those who have chosen to continuously remake their lives that have true beauty of soul.

I understand that Soozle needs a job. I'm sure she could learn Canadian without too much trouble, and she'd be that much closer to Em's bro...

Absolutely! We could set things up so that Brett goes into PeOter's shop to pick up some kitty litter for his two cats, and Susie's just started her first shift.........and the rest could be history.... :D

Hey Sillies!! All is well. Surgery went smoothly and ended up a pretty quick process once I got past "admissions". Was home by lunch time. Had four people trying to wait on me hand and knee foot. Very little pain . . . mostly just dealing with swelling. I passed on the vicoden and asked for tylenol 3 instead (cause I know I don't have a problem with it) and am very happy with my decision. The tylenol 3 cost me about $6 . . . have know idea what the vicoden would have cost . . .I've got a 25/35/45 dollar insurance copay on the expensive drugs and I'm betting it's an expensive drug.

Can't stay on, I'm suppose to be lying down (for the swelling). Haven't got meself rigged up with the laptop yet.

Congrats on an awesome victory, Sarah!!

Congrats on your Welbutrin epiphany, Susie!!

I'm sleeping on the main floor of the house so I don't have to go up/down the stairs. Last night my son said if I needed anything, just to come and get him, no matter what time, he wouldn't mind. I told him I would just yell real loud.:lol:

I just think that amazing people sometimes forget that they are amazing, and need reminding. If you read my other posts you'll discover that I think that 90% of the population can just sniffle themselves into a gluten filled pool of misery for all I care - but some people (highly over-represented on this thread) are far too important to me, and for them, and only them, I will willingly offer a small piece of my soul for them rest on while they are repairing their own.

OK. Soft squishy Jess gone.

Raving hand-waving hair-pulling screaming Jess here.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH

Those ignorant annoying self righteous 'you shouldn't do this because I think it's wrong' anti-medicine anti-pharmaceutical blathering idiots who dose themselves with hundreds of dollars worth of untested unproven ground up plants because some minimally educated, yet also anti-pharmaceutical, leech has convinced them that they should should not be allowed to post anything health related.

fine.

thanks for listening.

going over to Sarah's house now to pout with her in the corner, since she just went through this.

Hello, I just wanted to share with the frustration of skin issues and seeing dermatologist and medications not working for years, I did my own healing experiment. As of last week I have been taking a drop internally under the tongue of Vetiver and putting on topically on sores Yellow/Pom.I am seeing a extreme difference at a rapid time.Im also noticing my nails a little harder. Ive always been into natural properties because I feel its safer for the body.I know short time, but really seeing a difference. I also feel the the trapped gases that causes bloating helps break down as well.Curious if any body else can benefit from and has tried. Products is made by Doterra by Dr Hill

We have a category of articles on this topic if you really want to dive into it: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/miscellaneous-information-on-celiac-disease/gluten-free-diet-celiac-disease-amp-codex-alimentarius-wheat-starch/

I agree with @trents, and the rash you described, especially its location and resistance to steroids, sounds highly characteristic of dermatitis herpetiformis, which is the skin manifestation of celiac disease. The severe and prolonged reaction you're describing five days after a small exposure is, while extreme, not unheard of for those with a high sensitivity; the systemic inflammatory response can absolutely last for several days or even weeks, explaining why you still don't feel right. Your plan to avoid a formal gluten challenge is completely understandable given the severity of your reactions, and many choose the same path for their well-being. While experiences with GliadinX (they are a sponsor here) are mixed, some people do report a reduction in the severity of their symptoms when taken with accidental gluten, though it is crucial to remember it is not a cure or a license to eat gluten and its effectiveness can vary from person to person. For now, the absolute best advice is to continue being hyper-vigilant about cross-contamination—buffets are notoriously high-risk, even with good intentions. Connecting with a gastroenterologist and a dermatologist who specialize in celiac disease is essential for navigating diagnosis and management moving forward. Wishing you a swift recovery from this last exposure. If you have DH you will likely also want to avoid iodine, which is common in seafoods and dairy products, as it can exacerbate symptoms in some people. This article may also be helpful as it offers various ways to relieve the itch:

So just to be cautious, there is a big difference between cured, and responding to their medication. I assume you mean that your daughter responded well while taking KAN-101 during the trial, but the drug would not cure celiac disease, but may manage it while you are taking it. Let me know if I got this right.

Welcome to the forum, @Godfather! "Gluten-free" is not the same as zero gluten. The FDA standard for allowing the food industry to us the gluten-free label on a product is that it cannot exceed 20 ppm of gluten. That is safe for most celiacs but not for the subset of celiacs/gltuen sensitive people who are super sensitive. "Gluten-free" wheat starch products have been processed in such a way to remove enough of the protein gluten to comply with the FDA regulation but usually do retain some gluten and we usually get reports from some people on this forum who fall in the more sensitive range that such products cause them to react. Hope this helps. So, you may just have to experiment for yourself.
