  1. You can't compare tests between different labs, each test manufacturer sets their own "units." So at this point, with only six months gluten free, it really just says you are not healed yet.
  2. Have you had a repeat blood test to see if your antibody levels have gone down?
  3. The first test you list is not for celiac disease. It is for your total IgA to see if it is normal. Yours is. (If it wasn't the other two tests you list for specific types of IgA would not be valid). As to the TTG and DGP tests, some people with celiac are positive on one, some on the other, some on both.
  4. I'll soon be going on my first visit to family since realizing that I need a super gluten free diet (avoiding gluten ingredients wasn't enough for me). I have found two gluten free restaurants in the area, and my brother and his wife are willing to have me supervise the cooking in their kitchen. But my father says "don't worry about it, we can just eat...
  5. Gluten free pasta made by a company with a good reputation?
  6. Any chance you're anemic? That can happen with celiac.
  7. The total IgA is the test that will say whether you are IgA deficient or not. It measures all IgAs, not just those related to celiac. The endomysial IgA is only looking for one of the IgAs related to celiac, and you need to be eating gluten for it to be accurate. If the total IgA is deficient, then a negative endomysial IgA test doesn't mean much. Hope...
  8. I'm not sure why you are concerned about the glucose? It is a simple sugar, not related to the gluten protein.
  9. That would be wonderful for those like me who are asymptomatic!
  10. Were both tests run at the same lab? Do they have the same ranges for normal vs positive? I notice that one includes a number after the decimal point and one doesn't - that would be unusual if run by the same method.
  11. It is always so nice to hear that someone has found a good doctor who listens! I wish it weren't so unusual.
  12. Per this paper it takes at least 4 weeks of gluten for the antibody levels to rise. Open Original Shared Link

    ARCHIVED Paris!

Thank you for your post-trip reply! Good to hear that you had a great gluten free time.
  14. Different labs use tests made by different manufacturers with different reference ranges. The units are arbitrary and different from lab to lab, they are not standardized units like milligrams. You should use the reference ranges that came with your results.
  15. It takes more than a week for antibody levels to go down from positive to normal, your tests tomorrow should be fine. Please let us know the results!
  16. The low Immunoglobulin IgA voids the IgA result, but the TTG IgG was also run and the low total IgA level shouldn't affect that value.
  17. A sudden increase in floaters can indicate an eye problem, I would see an eye doctor.
  18. Just a caution - It is not good to compare numerical results from different laboratories. They may use tests from different manufacturers with different reference ranges. The units they report are not universal, but are defined by each manufacturer. You could atill see if you get positive reaults again after eating gluten.
  19. You say he has no symptoms whatsoever, but celiac is associated with at least 300 symptoms, including growth retardation, which is why he was tested. Many celiacs have no digestive system symptoms. I only had migraines and was the first in my family to be diagnosed. Open Original Shared Link

    ARCHIVED After The Fasano Diet

Thank you again for all suggestions, just what I was hoping for. I called Penzeys and they said their spices are gluten free, but at this point I would also prefer something certified. For the Fasano diet I got walnuts and almonds in the shell from nuts.com but didn't know they have dried raspberries. I bought some frozen ones then looked them up on the...

    ARCHIVED After The Fasano Diet

Thank you so much! Two votes for Stubbs - I will definitely look for it.
  24. I was able to get four out of five antibody levels down to normal by reading labels carefully to avoid gluten-containing ingredients, and avoiding contamination within our kitchen (discard wooden spoons, colander, teflon-coated pans, no shared condiments, etc). It took Fasano's gluten contamination elimination diet to get the DGP IgA under control. Per...
