  1. Are you sure that all of yur vitamins and supplements are gluten free?
  2. Are you in Canada? Are these links to the lab in question? Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  3. Do you have the lab ranges for the tests? It is difficult to say much without those, but it is very likely that the gliadin peptide IgA is positive. Some of the others might be also. If I were you, I would get a copy of the complete results, make an appointment with a gastroenterologist, and get a new primary doctor.
  4. Panel 2 is the one that tests for celiac with the DGP and tTG tests. Panel 1 does NOT have any celiac-specific tests.
  5. I eat short grain brown because I like the flavor.
  6. Here's the General Mills press release for the recall: Open Original Shared Link
  7. I don't know where you live. I was able to order my original TTG tests through mymedlab.com, but not the DGP tests. https://www.mymedlab.com/locations
  8. I can't explain it either. It is the opposite of my results - my hips got better and my spine worse. I'm guessing that my exercises affect the hips more than the spine.
  9. If you haven't had TTG and DGP blood tests (I don't think I saw them mentioned in this topic) I would get them before a biopsy. Less invasive and less expensive.
  10. Those are not the standard tests for celiac, those are allergy-related tests. You should have the IgA and IgG TTG and DGP tests for celiac.
  11. You can't compare tests between different labs, each test manufacturer sets their own "units." So at this point, with only six months gluten free, it really just says you are not healed yet.
  12. Have you had a repeat blood test to see if your antibody levels have gone down?
  13. The first test you list is not for celiac disease. It is for your total IgA to see if it is normal. Yours is. (If it wasn't the other two tests you list for specific types of IgA would not be valid). As to the TTG and DGP tests, some people with celiac are positive on one, some on the other, some on both.
  14. I'll soon be going on my first visit to family since realizing that I need a super gluten free diet (avoiding gluten ingredients wasn't enough for me). I have found two gluten free restaurants in the area, and my brother and his wife are willing to have me supervise the cooking in their kitchen. But my father says "don't worry about it, we can just eat...
  15. Gluten free pasta made by a company with a good reputation?
  16. Any chance you're anemic? That can happen with celiac.
  17. The total IgA is the test that will say whether you are IgA deficient or not. It measures all IgAs, not just those related to celiac. The endomysial IgA is only looking for one of the IgAs related to celiac, and you need to be eating gluten for it to be accurate. If the total IgA is deficient, then a negative endomysial IgA test doesn't mean much. Hope...
  18. I'm not sure why you are concerned about the glucose? It is a simple sugar, not related to the gluten protein.
  19. That would be wonderful for those like me who are asymptomatic!
  20. Were both tests run at the same lab? Do they have the same ranges for normal vs positive? I notice that one includes a number after the decimal point and one doesn't - that would be unusual if run by the same method.
  21. It is always so nice to hear that someone has found a good doctor who listens! I wish it weren't so unusual.
  22. Per this paper it takes at least 4 weeks of gluten for the antibody levels to rise. Open Original Shared Link

    ARCHIVED Paris!

Thank you for your post-trip reply! Good to hear that you had a great gluten free time.
  24. Different labs use tests made by different manufacturers with different reference ranges. The units are arbitrary and different from lab to lab, they are not standardized units like milligrams. You should use the reference ranges that came with your results.
