The Ripple Pea milk seems to be a bit rough textured, you can sort of distinguish the pea protein in it...taste is alright but I use pea protein as my primary protein source as it is easier for me to digest then meat, only thing easier is egg whites. Pea is a legume, right after my dia I could not eat it without major bloating. I am fine with it now. I...

Boiled Broccoli/carrots/potatoes in bit of meat in large chunks, drain the water and you eat the pieces? You can use herbs instead of spices for flavor to avoid nightshades and give some flavor. Regular potatoes are in the same family as tomato, peppers. Sweet Potatoes are a different family IE not nightshades and wrapping in foil they can be cooked in...

MyGerbs has seeds and dry fruit free from the top allergens. EnjoyLife is also free from most allergens. If sunflowers are alright there is SunButter, use it like peanut butter but allergen friendly. Whole foods that you know are safe are your best bet, create list of foods you can eat, now see what you can take for snacks.

Has a point, if you inhale flour/wheat dust it gets in the mucus in your throat and nose, then that runs into your stomach and digestive tract...you get glutened. I would also like to say stores are getting more and more annoying. I have been hounding my local HEB for years, they store extra wheat flour above the gluten free flours and the outsides of...

Republic of Tea is all certified Gluten Free. I use their green teas, I have issues with black teas for some reason...just gives me a upset stomach out of the blue about 3 years ago. Either the tannins in them or the fact they ferment them but black tea became a issue. I found some herbal teas like rooibo do the same stomach upset to a lesser extent, it...

GI issues and living with other people
Ennis-TX replied to SadAndSick's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I mentioned in your other post about using Natural Vitality Calm to pass more regularly, trying a lower carb diet and avoiding diary, soy, and things that might cause gas could be useful. Might try a radio, shower combo and just say you like to listen to music when you shower (I turn on music when I shower). I know many people me included that will sometimes... -
Frustration, confusion
Ennis-TX replied to SadAndSick's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had the constipation issue....since I was a little kid days at first, in high school it was often almost or more then a week. Seems it was linked to magnesium absorption issues. If your having issues with C try Natural Vitality Calm, I suggest using a scale as it measures very odd. Start at 2grams and up it another 2 grams each day til you get loose stools... -
Bacteria (not Sugar) are Rotting your Teeth
Ennis-TX replied to Posterboy's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Asputame, Asuflame since I went gluten free years ago triggered me to go crazy and get angry. Red 40 caused behavioral issues for years but resolved as my gut healed. I find Xylitol in extreme moderation had no issues, and erithitol is a something I have NO issues with, I use it daily but often go a week sweet clense without it once a month. I use Stevia... -
Bacteria (not Sugar) are Rotting your Teeth
Ennis-TX replied to Posterboy's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have used the Spry gum, for a long time, although I have not used it in a few months as I am having gut issues. They also make a xylitol mouthwash. The stuff is great at moisturizing the mouth and nasel passage and is sold for such uses. But on the mouth bacteria, I do not eat sugar, fruit, or starches. I use 3 different mouthwashes, one with a hydrogen... -
Please help is it celiac or not ?
Ennis-TX replied to ElenaM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Daiya contains corn, the citric acid and xantham gum from it is made from corn, the processed nature for me make it a delayed reaction. Miyoko Creamery, Leaf Cusines, Lisanattis are corn, gluten, lactose, and whey free. SOME kite hill are also corn free but stay away from the ones with xantham gum, they grow the black mold stuff on corn.- 7 replies

Please help is it celiac or not ?
Ennis-TX replied to ElenaM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Some members here tested negative on the blood test always. The biopsys are taken of the small intestines via a endoscope, not a colonoscoy. And even then the small intestines have the surface area of a tennis court.....they can miss it only taking small samples. I became allergic to corn a few years after diagnosis, diary is a common issue, with lactose...- 7 replies

Gluten free options for serving falafel
Ennis-TX replied to MHAC's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Yeah perhaps set up a separate area and dedicated mixer, and a dedicated fryer. If you sell them as the fried balled form try with a salad, or covered in cheese, a side to a veggie tray of raw, or roasted veggies and a cream based or tomato based dip like marinara or ranch. Do not thing of serving it with a bread, the fafalfel is a carb and a bread itself...- 8 replies

Gluten free options for serving falafel
Ennis-TX replied to MHAC's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Authentic Foods offers a falafel mix. http://www.glutenfree-supermarket.com/p-17-falafel-mix.aspx BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW, if you use flour in your kitchen nothing in it is safe for celiacs. Flour goes air borne for hours and settles everywhere. You need a dedicated kitchen area, oven, prep area, dedicated mixers, utensils, pans. etc. DO NOT GO trying...- 8 replies

It took me months to start feeling better, almost a year to have energy back, over 4 years to start putting on muscle mass. She can have the blood test redone and see if what her antibodies are and if they are going down. This should give a perspective of where she is. A follow up biopsy can give comparison on healing internally. This will help you a lot...

In addition I would like to say with celiac testing if you get a actual celiac test.....you have to be eating gluten for 8-12 weeks prior or it nullifies the test. If you were gluten free a month prior then just started up on gluten before any test for celiac the test would be invalid. If you concerned for celiac you have to eat gluten daily then get tested...

This is a interaction chart....it shows which vitamins work together, this goes beyond supplementing...this goes with EATING whole foods. It tells you how some interact and can block absorption of others while some require to be taken together. BTW with the SAD diet...you either have to eat enriched foods or supplement. Most Americans do not comprehend...

One of my friends sent this to me, it covers most vitamin and mineral interactions, and can help some with finding what to supplement with what and why. Along with adverse interactions between some. Althought it misses some concepts we deal with among food and compound interactions, it still helps with insight. https://www.deannaminich.com/vitamin-and...

I'm confused.
Ennis-TX replied to lilly929's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Posting full results maybe someone can give better insight. My thoughts are that perhaps it was getting better, your system put the guard down then some time before the test something slipped in? This diet has a HUGE learning curve, and you have to rely on yourself and not others to fix food. No eating out, limiting processed foods, avoiding stuff prepared... -
New Years and Snack Plates
Ennis-TX replied to Ennis-TX's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Same only one I can really eat and not get sick with. I have recipes for making some great coleslaw also using it. They also make the only Ketchup I can have corn free, they recently released BBQ Sauce, Steak Sauce, and a WONDERFUL Spicy Ketchup. I found their dressing to be a god send...first time in 4 years I had had Ranch, Ceaser or Green Goddess.... -
Neuropathy vent/whine...why, brown rice?
Ennis-TX replied to selectivefocus's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Baked sweet potatoes might be good, not being a nightshade they are easier carbs. But you are lucky, I had to give up all carbs. Carbs first started giving me distention and bloody stools, then later even cheating a bit spiked my blood sugar. I am now paleo/keto no carbs I eat fat for energy and my uses it instead. Rice...rice protein sometimes even... -
SO here comes new years and I remade a bunch of snacks gluten, dairy, grain free for family. The monte cristo knock off can be found in my blog but this one was fun and a old family favorite. Creamcheese and Ham Roll ups I got some Siete Almond Flour tortillas instead of flour and rolled them up with Kite Hill Jalapeno Cream Cheese, and Oscar Myer...

So the vomiting is still constant in the evenings sometimes at lunch 5-7 enzyme pills can prevent full purges and just few gulps of floating mass. I am still very frustrated with this, what floats comes up OK, so I soak my meals 8-24hours and have it preblended. BUT when it is heated up stuff FLOATS..like really? Then there is that random benezorr of solid...

There is also xantham gum in it made from black mold fermented on corn, and a bunch of other things. 2-3 years ago I used to be fine with daiya before they added that stuff....now days it makes me violently ill. As mentioned pea protein is a legume and can cause gas and bloating to those sensitive to it, I live on the stuff and coupled with a low carb diet...

Monte Cristo Knock off This is not the Cheddar's Monte Cristo from my childhood, I could make one more like it but I can not justify spending $30 in initial products. I bought a store brand of Gluten Free and Grain Free bread from Whole Foods for a proof of concept over using my own. BUT this would probably be better with thick canyon bake house...
