I'm sorry Kassandra. :( :( :(

You know where to find me if you want to talk. :)

Kassandra,

When there is abnormal bleeding and the uterine lining is thickened, they will always rule out uterine cancer. I went through a uterine biopsy since I had this issue also. Chances are everything will be ok in that respect. Try not to worry yourself sick over that at this point.

The D&C is really not that bad at all--seriously. You are out of it, and won't remember the procedure itself. Afterwards, you will have some cramping, but I was able to handle it with Tylenol.

As always, if you have any questions that I may be able to help with, don't hesitate :)

Kassandra-

I just wanted to say I am so sorry you are going through all of this. My thoughts are with you. Hopefully things will start to sort themselves out- stay strong.

:(

Ugh. Really rough appointment. She started out by saying that she wanted to put me on some hormones to induce my period, so we could get the really thick lining of my uterus out.

Sorry about that Kassandra. :(:(:(

Kassandra,

I cant blame you for being scared....you're going through so much right now. :(

I actually felt better for you after reading Patti's post...so hopefully its somewhat reassuring. :)

The good thing is that you now have an obgyn who is not ignoring these things and that everything is getting addressed as far as the bleeding/thickened lining goes. I hope everything goes well....try not to get too stressed and once you get through this process you'll know more about whats going on. Chances are its not cancer....like Patti said. You'll be in my thoughts though....good luck with everything.

A quick run by, I made it to this side of the Pacific okay today--headed to bed with some Ambien as I really need to sleep.

Kassandra, I am sorry about all this happening at once but am glad the doctor is dealing with it, and hope it all goes smoothly as possible. Do you have the time yet?

Sherry

Gosh Kassandra...seems like one thing after another! I'm so sorry!

Everyone,

I saw my GI yesterday. I thought I was going to have to talk him into doing an endoscopy, but he actually brought it up and suggested we should go ahead and get it checked out. For those that don't know (it was slightly before this thread), two years ago my PCP found blood in my stool. She suggested a colonoscopy and referred me to a GI. The GI decided to do an endoscopy at the same time to check out my villi (although I'd already been gluten free for several months).

During the endoscopy he found some things...minor damage to my esophagus, polyup in my stomach, but the biggest thing was a growth on my ampulla of vater (the opening where the bile and pancreatic duct meet and empty bile into the intestines. It's supposed to be the size of a pen tip, but mine was quite large. The equipment he used didn't allow him to reach it for a biopsy, so a week later I had another endoscopy so he could biopsy. Three labs (including Stanford) couldn't decide if it was precancerous or not. The GI put me on prilosec for a couple of months to see if reducing inflamation would help. So in a couple of months we did another endoscopy...he never really said what the labs said, he basically just said it was fine and that we didn't need to check unless I was feeling bad.

Meanwhile my PCP asks me everytime I go in for my annual exam about this. This year I asked her if it had turned to cancer would it appear on my bloodwork and her answer was that we didn't want to wait until it shows up in a blood test. She put in a referral for me (even though I don't need one, lol) for the GI.

He asked how I was feeling and I told him basically pretty good but am having ramdom pain from my ribcage down to my pelvic area...different places, different intensities, etc., and that I am also having the feeling like things are getting stuck in my esophagus--not food so much, but like pills and things. I didn't even mention doing another endoscopy but he suggested it was time to go in and check the ampulla! Phew, what a relief. It's been two years and by now we should have a clearer picture. He said while he's in there he'll check the esophagus too.

So I'm relieved...I feel like we'll finally know for sure what's going on.

On an even happier note...did I mention I'm going to Las Vegas?!

Kassandra,

They always want to rule out uterine cancer. They had me scared when i was in my 20's. We have an high incidence of it in my family. But luckily i never had it. But i do have an severly tilted uterus and they said having kids would be hard. So dont worry, im sure everything is going to be just fine.

Everyone,

Im on a mission to find an shower filter today lol

I hear ya about sticking to gluten-free diet and not really feeling better. I, too, have been gluten-free for a couple of years and yet still seem to react to food that is considered gluten-free. I was taking thyroid meds recently and felt bad, just as I did with other medications. The pharmacist looked up the common ingredients in all the meds I've had reactions too and found 1 common link = microcrystalline cellulose. Not only is this a filler in meds, but it's found in most foods including those which we consider GL. Here's the link I found which is very helpful... Open Original Shared Link

Good luck!

Kassandra, just wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and I send my love

I was also encouraged after reading Patti and Paula's posts, sounds like they want to cover all bases and rule everything out.

Keep us posted as you can.

Donna, that's good news you are going to have the endoscopy to have the ampulla and your esophogus issues checked out :) Have you scheduled it yet?

July 2 (nex Wednesday). I'd be lieing if I said I hadn't thought about the possibility of it already turning to cancer...especially with the cancer miasm that Anna found and the fact that some of my bloodwork is a little tiny bit off...none of which probably has anything to do with anything, but I'd still like to know why it was enlarged. :P

Have fun in Miamia.

I don't blame you for being concerned.....I would be too. It will be nice to put this to rest, although it doesn't sound like a fun proceedure......course, are any of them fun?

Hi everyone,

I went to the ND today because my sinuses just don't seem to be gettting better AND I started having a bad earache last night. She used this special machine called a Frequency S...... Machine. Darn, I can't remember the name!!! But it transmits energy that tells your cells to kick it up a notch to do what they are supposed to do.

They used to use it in the early 1900's for Tuberculosis before ABX were used. It was very interesting! I wanted to research it some more, - but now I forgot the name!

So, any that along with Vit A drops (supposed to dry up the mucous membranes), an immune enhancer supplement, b12 shot, and steam inhalations using tea tree and eucolyptus.

I will let you know how it goes. She says this protocol has really been helping her sinus sufferers - like me - to kick the sinus infections without resorting to antibiotics.

I REALLY HOPE THIS WORKS!!! :D:D

Me too! I really hopes this works for you. As someone who had nearly constant sinus infections for 3 whole years, I know just how miserable it is!

Does it matter what kind of vit a drops. Also what it the immune enhancer supplement. I would love to try this to help mine. They have been really bad lately. Also how much tea tree and eucolyptus. you can pm the info if want to.

Sounds promising April.

I used to get sinus infections pretty regularly, but thankfully haven't had one for at least a few years now.

I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with the gluten challenge. My teenager completed a gluten challenge over the summer, it ended up being 10 weeks although she stopped being consistent eating gluten after 6. Her previous endoscopy was negative but this past August it was positive after the gluten challenge. If you have done the gluten challenge, how long did it take you to feel back to normal? It took about two months before she got “glutened” again but now she’s having difficult coming back from that and has a lot of fatigue. I’m hoping someone has some advice!

Hello everyone, I was on here a few months ago trying to figure out if I was reacting to something other than gluten, to which a very helpful response was that it could be xanthin or guar gum.    Since then, I have eaten items with both of those ingredients in it and I have not reacted to it, so my mystery reaction to the Digiorno pizza remains.    HOWEVER, I realized something recently- the last time I got glutened and the most recent time I got glutened, I truly never ate anything with gluten in it. But i did breathe it in.    The first time was a feed barrel for my uncle’s chickens- all of the dust came right up, and most of what was in there was wheat/grains. The second time was after opening a pet food bag and accidentally getting a huge whiff of it.    When this happens, I tend to have more neurological symptoms- specifically involuntary muscle spasms/jerks everywhere. It also seems to cause migraines and anxiety as well. Sometimes, with more airborne exposure, I get GI symptoms, but not every time.    My doctor says he’s never heard of it being an airborne problem, but also said he isn’t well versed in celiac specifics. I don’t have the money for a personal dietician, so I’m doing the best I can.    is there anyone else who has experienced this, or gets similar neurological symptoms?

I was suffering from PF just previous to being dx with celiac disease about 25 yr. ago but have not been troubled with it since. Not sure what the connection between the two is of if there is one. But I do know it is a very painful condition that takes your breath away when it strikes.

I have dealt with proctalgia fugax on and off for a year now. It feels almost paralyzing during an episode and they have started lasting longer and longer, sometimes 20+ minutes. I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease and wonder if the 2 are related. I did request a prescription for topical nitroglycerin for my PF episodes and that has helped tremendously!

Hey @Butch68, I also have dermatitis herpetiformis but don't suffer from it anymore. I used to drink Guinness too but I drink Cider now when out on social occasions. I assume you are in Ireland or the UK. If it's any good to you ... 9 White Deer based in Cork brew a range of gluten-free products including a gluten-free Stout. I'm not sure if they are certified though. https://www.9whitedeer.ie/ I haven't come across any certified gluten-free stouts this side of the pond.
