Hee! My interview's with women. And it's at a company that does auto salvage and auctions. So if I need future leverage over a male muckety-muck at the company, I'd like to hold my cleavage in reserve! Besides, I've had enough co-workers think that glasses + cleavage equal sexy librarian tiger woman! Rar! Down boys, glasses just mean I'm nearsighted and lazy.... Cleavage means I need to do the laundry... :ph34r:

You can't fill a hole in someone else's soul. Your job is to enhance his life, not complete it, that's up to him to do. You are a vibrant, intelligent, loving woman and you are more than enough for someone who isn't hiding from themselves. You can't fix him. You can't make him see you for who you are. You CAN be the most amazing you that you are. Stop waiting for his approval, just be quietly awesome, as you already are. He will, or he won't, realize what he may be losing, but what he realizes is up to him, not you.

You are welcome to come up to Bainbridge for a weekend, if you don't mind construction and no kitchen. We can drink heavily and you can scream all you want.

It's not fair. I told him it's his problem, not mine and if he's not happy with who I am, then MOVE THE F*CK ON!!! I don't deserve to be with someone who's always looking for something more. That's what I do. Then my computer does this wierd thing--whenever I stop talking, it automatically shoots to the top of the reply page and I can't even see what I was doing unless I start typing again. It's epecially a pain since I'm not a fast typer <_<

Do you all remember the wonderful bib that I painted for my mom as a birthday gift a couple of years ago? She has always been a spiller -- while she's eating, drinking, preparing food - -always getting stains on her bustline, as that's where it all fell and stopped. So, I made her a HUGE bib that she could really use at the hospital now as she is getting into her clothes (great sign!). A big bikini-clad torso.... :lol:. . .I know it will be a hit there. Think I'll post a pic of it on Da Book. .. . . .. . ..

It is a great sign that yer mum is getting dressed, so good to hear this--and my gosh, how lucky she is to have a daughter like you :D Her new bib and shapely eyebrows are gonna be a hit I'm sure :lol:

Must see a pic of this! My mom always dribbles on herself. I don't think she would wear a bikini painting tho. Your mom has a much better sense of humor then mine.

Need some cooking advice:

I want to make a gluten-free dessert to take to the Robotics Banquet but I haven't really baked anything yet. Needs to be something teens will like & not to hard to make. Need to make lots because the kids will all want to try it. I can bake with gluten, just have to figure out how to without it.

The kids were quite matter of fact when I said I had to eat gluten free. Almost no questions because they are so used to all these different restrictions thier friends or they have. Mostly they just want to eat my Crunchmasters crackers or chocolate.

If you want something simple, why not do gluten-free brownies? You can frost them and sprinkle nuts or something on top. Betty Crocker is good, Gluten Free Pantry is even better if you can find it. There are also tons of recipes for them on here in the cooking and baking phorum.

Did try the BC with added choc chips & they were good. Maybe I will try gluten-free Pantry.

He asked that we see a marriage counselor together but he doesn't want to see mine, he thinks she may have a skewed view of him :rolleyes: Probably true :P Thru his work, they cover so many sessions for free, so I will comply, should be interesting..... I just cannae take any more crap. I AM AMAZING and I should be treated as such ;) My cake turned out pretty good with all my frustration yesterday :rolleyes:

I'm pre-interview self-medicating with the almond butter brownies I made from Elana's Pantry website. They're pretty darn good, not for the normal baker though. I'll be frosting the lion's share for my 'birthday cake' later today, hopefully it will also be 'new job cake'! Or at least, 'interview went great' cake! We is goin to the club tonight, woohoo! My mum also sent me some mysterious birthday present project in the mail, very curious to see what it is, should get here later today.

TITLE: Darkest Chocolate Cake

SUBMITTED BY: Rachelle

RECIPE HISTORY and SOURCE: I've tried and messed with so many different recipes to come up with the best chocolate cake imaginable. This is my final result!!

INGREDIENTS

2c gluten-free flour (I use my own blend)

1 scant tsp xanthan gum

1 1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp sea salt (regular is OK if you don't have sea salt)

3/4c unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4c oil

2c sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2c espresso (or 2 heaping TBS instant coffee mixed into 1 1/2 cups hot water)

DIRECTIONS

-Preheat oven to 350. Prepare 2 9" cake pans, 1 9x13 pan or 12 muffin tins by spraying with cooking spray. Line cake pans with parchment or line tins with liners

-Fold dry ingredients together with a large spoon, then sift with a whisk until well combined

-With an electric mixer, mix oil and sugar until well combined, scraping the bowl a few times

-Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well in between

-Add vanilla

-Alternating dry ingredients with espresso, add to the wet ingredients, mixing well with each addition and scraping the bowl in between.

-Pour into prepared pans and bake until the center of the cake is set and a toothpick comes out clean 35+ minutes for 9" pans, 40+ minutes for 9x13 pan or 20-25 minutes for cupcakes

My gastroenologist advised he also took a biopsy during one of my colonoscopies and endoscopy and advised I had celiac disease, along with stomach ulcers from my esophagus stomach down to my small bowel. I was shown the ulcers on the catscan and endoscopy report. I also had polyps in 3 places throughout my large...

      So, I'm a little confused here. I understand you to say that you have not been officially diagnosed with celiac disease. Is this correct? You have had genetic testing done to check for the potential for developing celiac disease and that was positive. Is this correct? I think you meant to type "gluten sensitivity" but you typed "gluten insensitivity...

      I did nor read the chocolate pkg as it was of fered to me and I ate 2 pcs. I do know that only very dark chocolate and and a very few others are gluten free. Most alcohols contain gluten. I have several yrs of not knowing my celiac condition as docs would not do the test. After looking on the internet about my sufferings I insisted on the gene trsting...

I was on a strict diet for months following.  I am sorry if I didnt define how I was diagnosed with celiac disease.  I am sorry if you think I was misleading you. I also had to pay $150.00 for the genetic testing.

I think you meant to type "gluten sensitivity" but you typed "gluten insensitivity". Just so we are clear about the terminology, there is celiac disease and there is NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). They are not the same but they have overlapping symptoms. Celiac disease causes damage to the small bowel lining but NCGS does not. NCGS is often referred to in short form as gluten sensitivity. However, people often use the terms celiac disease and gluten sensitivity interchangeably so it can be unclear which disease they are referring to. Genetic testing cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease but it can be used to establish the potential to develop active celiac disease. About 40% of the general population has one or both of  the genes that have been most strongly connected with the potential to develop active celiac disease but only about 1% of the population actually develops active celiac disease. This makes the genetic test useful for ruling out celiac disease but not for diagnosing it. A colonoscopy cannot be used to diagnose celiac disease because it doesn't permit the scope to go up into the small bowel where celiac disease does the damage. They use an endoscopy ("upper GI) for checking the small bowel lining for celiac damage.

      @barb simkin, are you sure the chocolate products are gluten-free and not "manufactured on equipment that also handles wheat products and tree nuts", i.e., cross-contamination? And what kind of alcoholic beverages are we talking about? Most beers are made from gluten-containing grains. Just checking.
